My last stop in the trip was Prescott and Sunday night I began the final drive back home. About 35/40 mins outside of Prescott my vans fan clutch and bracket pulley system had failed again after having them both replaced by a mechanic back home, prior to my long road trip. The only problem this time I was 1000 + miles away from home and with 4 dogs in tow. After looking up reviews on nearby mechanics Huey Automotive popped and had promising reviews. I had my van towed to the shop and I spent the night in my van with my dogs. When Jason and his team got Monday morning I explained my problem and predicament with having my dogs with me. Making no guarantees, plus a completely booked schedule, also the fact the the likelihood that after market parts were probably not available for my van luck found its way around. O'Reiley's by some miracle had the parts needed to make the repairs. Long story short they had me back on the road by 10:30am. I am forever indebted to Jason and his team. I could not recommend them enough to anyone living nearby or even up and down the state of AZ. You will not be disappointed when using Huey Automotive. These people basically saved me from being stuck in Rimrock all weekend. Not that there's anything…read morewrong with Rimrock. But it's not exactly the sort of place you want to be stranded. I don't think they have any hotels there. My car broke down at Montezuma Well, and this is the closest service station. Did I mention it was Friday afternoon? They cheerfully worked on my sad vehicle for hours, and while they don't have any air conditioning, they did offer plenty of ice water and also ice cream, which is a nice touch. The sign said they close at 5, but they kept at it until they were certain it would get me back to Tucson, meaning they stayed til 6 to take care of me. Despite all that, they did not charge me a ridiculous amount of money.

"worst case scenario" it would cost $2,200-2500 to put in a new head on the engine. He asked for half down, and I paid him $1000, and had my truck towed to Grease and ratchets mobile mechanic in Lake Montezuma. He tore apart the engine and then said it needs a new one. Mid March he said that he thought he found an engine for $1800, but after looking at it he said it would not work. I said I would like to pick up the truck and get money back, he said that her would give me only $150 back if I picked it up. He did not respond to my calls until April, when he finally responded to my text saying that he found an engine for 2800 or that someone that he knew would buy it for $2000. (The Truck Kelly Blue books at $15,000 if running.) At that point I asked for $500 back, acknowledging that he had spent time looking at the engine and looking around for a new one. After my refund request he told me that I owed him for storage (over $600) and that I needed to pick up the vehicle in 24hrs or he would have it towed to a tow yard and I could pay those fees as well. I had it towed the next day and the truck had the entire engine ripped apart and parts were left scattered everywhere, under the hood, on the windshield, in the truckbed, and in the truck cab. I paid Josh $1100, to have my truck left with a torn apart engine, while they threaten to charge me storage fees.

We called them from 2 miles away and they told us to bring it in. With my husband there explaining, and our regular mechanic on the phone, they fixed the issue and got us safely on our way. With a 1 yr old baby and all of our stuff packed, I was worried about having to stay somewhere, not having access to our stuff, and so on, but they got us going again and I am forever thankful that they fit us in.
