It's been under construction and now there is an escalator that takes you upstairs to a large waiting area and you board the plane via a jet bridge. You can also board your plane downstairs, but you would do it via a ramp. The Delta planes are larger CRJ900. Moving on up. I wish the bathrooms were renovated to be a bit bigger. The stalls are small and if there is someone at the sink washing her hands, it is not enough space for a person to walk around her, let alone walk around with her luggage. Still a very awesome regional airport to fly in and out of.

Since it's a small airport, there aren't many amenities--one thing I'd love to see is a drink stand or at least some vending machines. That would make waiting a bit more comfortable. Overall, it's a great little airport with a personal touch. Just bring your own snacks and water!

The airport offers a parking lot with free parking, 2 car rental offices, Hertz and Budget, and easy flights to places like Nashville, TN several times a day. The only issue that I have with the airport is that I sometimes feel information gets lost or confused from the smaller airports than the larger ones I'm used to flying. I am TSA Precheck, yet here at Tupelo they still make you pull almost everything out of you carry one to run through security, and every time i fly out of the airport, when i get home, I always have a piece of paper INSIDE my check bag saying that someone has opened and gone through my luggage. I'm not a fan of that, yet it happens every single time. It often makes me feel like I've done something wrong, even though I fly major airports all of the time and never have issues. At least I get to keep my shoes on still. Aside from the security inconveniences, the airport is really great. They help to make my travel back and forth easier, and I'll take the few inconveniences for that I guess.

The first time I came I parked in town at a Kmart then rode a yellow school bus to get here. In summary, I will come back to this airport to watch the Blue Angels. It is worth the long drive from Tennessee.

With a nominal fuel purchase from the airport, we weren't charged a ramp parking fee, making such fly-ins a bit more affordable. The airport offered a sole courtesy car that was available on a first come, first serve basis. (I believe that there's still a two hour time limit on the use of the car.). We'd hop in the car, go grab a meal somewhere in Oxford, then get back into our aircraft, and be on our way. The staff was always professional, and offered free drinks, snacks, and ice. We always timed our flights to Oxford for non-game days (college) to avoid the inevitable congestion at the airport and town. A lot a people fly in for games. Fun times!
