The airport offers a parking lot with free parking, 2 car rental offices, Hertz and Budget, and easy flights to places like Nashville, TN several times a day. The only issue that I have with the airport is that I sometimes feel information gets lost or confused from the smaller airports than the larger ones I'm used to flying. I am TSA Precheck, yet here at Tupelo they still make you pull almost everything out of you carry one to run through security, and every time i fly out of the airport, when i get home, I always have a piece of paper INSIDE my check bag saying that someone has opened and gone through my luggage. I'm not a fan of that, yet it happens every single time. It often makes me feel like I've done something wrong, even though I fly major airports all of the time and never have issues. At least I get to keep my shoes on still. Aside from the security inconveniences, the airport is really great. They help to make my travel back and forth easier, and I'll take the few inconveniences for that I guess.

If uou want somewhere to sit get there kinda sorta early or you'll have to stand til it's time to board or until 1 of the 2 flights board. All there's a FREE shuttle that takes you from Columbus to Starkville so if you need a ride and want a free ride jump on the shuttle. It runs both ways and in line with GTR flights.

Mr Mathews is a retired welder on his second career. I learned of his service when Delta Airlines bumped my brother and his wife from a flight, and provided a voucher for Mathews Transportation to take them to a hotel in Columbus until the next morning. Mathews was at the hotel at 5am on time to get the family to their 6:30am flight. I've since used the service to take my mother from West Point to Tupelo for a medical appointment ($100 round trip including 3 hours waiting), and to get myself to the airport ($25 typically, though $30 for the early flight, price of course subject to change, call to confirm). The car is well marked, in excellent condition, with room for about 5 with lots of bags. Mathews tells me he'll also do pickups and drop offs in Birmingham (2.5 hours from GTR, cheaper airport) and Tuscaloosa (1.5 hours from GTR, Amtrak). Highest recommendation!

The service you get and the rewards through their frequent flier program is awesome. Now that I am part of their frequent flier program, it is hard to fly with any other airline. The company truly puts its employees first and you can see the difference with the employees' professionalism and zeal for their job. Happy that they keep it going at GTR.

I live in Nashville, TN, but my family lives around Starkville, MS. When this flight was introduced between BNA and Tupelo, MS, I jumped at the chance of having them be my primary travel when I needed to get home. When your 5ish hour drive can be reduced to a 45ish minute flight (plus an hour drive), it really helped me to save time on trips to see my family and my new niece. My experience with the airline has been great. At both Tupelo and Nashville airports, they have been great about getting planes on schedule, taking care of my luggage, and making me feel like I'm a valued part of the trip and their day. The plans are small, the crew is usually a 2 man piloting operation, and the flights are a little rough at times because of the turbulence on a propellor plane, but I trust them completely with each flight. My only hope is that they expand their territory soon to cover more places I'd like to fly to. Contour is a great airline, that offers cheap flights to places that you could drive to in a day, but they give you the gift of time by cutting your travel down without costing an arm and a leg.
