She also stated that if she did not hear back from me that she would delete all of the information that I had left on their website. I replied to her stating that I had looked at so many vehicles over the past few weeks that I would like her to send me the vehicle details one more time so I could make sure it was in the lines of what I was looking for. It is now over a month since her initial message and I have still not received a reply from her? It seems very strange to me that this company has no follow through, especially for customers really trying to purchase from them! Make of it what you will.

Personally, I'm a car enthusiast and know the vehicles I'm interested in buying - from market value to any typical mechanical or electrical issues per model. I research each model thoroughly from TSBs to customer feedback on forums. The vehicle I was searching for was priced very fairly at Auto Experts - low miles, great condition etc. After seeing the car, it had some typical superficial issues (10 minute fixes) that are common for this particular model (Mercedes C300). The price was several thousand below market value, so it was certainly fair. (Try and get a button swapped out at the dealer $1000 or you can just clean the contact $0). Mercedes drivetrains (except for some of the m272/273s) are pretty rock solid, so you just have to deal with little electrical issues for the aging models. We had a great chat about cars and things and not once during our time was I rushed or pressured to buy. Super low key. In fact, he encouraged me to think over the decision and offered to trade cars for the weekend. Mike said to look it over for the weekend, show my wife (key point), take it to a shop - do what I had to do. Unreal. I wound up buying the car. It's been a few months and absolutely no issues. Ironically, as much of the vehicle as I inspected, I hadn't looked at the rear tires. Front tires were practically brand new and I must've only checked there. When I stopped by to take care of some more paperwork about a month later, I brought it up to Mike. He gave me a loaner for the day and had 2 new tires installed in the rear. Best car buying experience I've had at a car dealership - private or corporate. Definitely give them a shot if they have a model you're interested in. (Personal note on buying a used car: I think generally used car dealers get a bad rep from uneducated consumers. Case in point, I bought my wife's vehicle from another un-named private dealer which had one of the worst customer experiences - the cliche pushy high pressure types. After we bought the vehicle, the radio stopped working - a typical fuse issue for that model Mercedes. (The fix is literally to unplug and replug the fuse in.) Then, the CEL light came on a month later - related to a vacuum hose fitting that was known to crack - leaking air. Cut the cracked end and plug it back in. Both cases were not a reflection of the dealer, but it would be easy to blame them, as much as I would've liked to...)

Another time, also on a weekend, he was available to us on a moment's notice when our other vehicle's warning light came on. We've patronized his shop for 10 years now. My wife & I, besides many of his other customers, sometimes just pop in to chat with him, being he always has helpful mechanical info that he freely passes on. His diagnostic skills are right on, he is current with all the latest automotive technologies, and has been very fair in his costs.

The owner Sam came across genuine and helpful over the phone when I called to inquire about a 2013 red colored Leaf he was advertising at a good price. His personality and good nature over the phone helped motivate me to drive to Redwood City from Saratoga to see the car. When I got there the car was better than advertised so I was happy, but I noticed he had two more (newer) Leafs on the lot too, including a higher price newer 2015 Leaf in white (was my favorite color and options). He told me that one was not ready for sale yet and needed a couple of small fixes and not yet made fully ready to advertise, but I wanted it anyways and I ended up buying the one I wanted. The online advertised prices these days have to be very competitive to match the market out there and businesses usually post their bottom pricing online. His price advertised online was competitive with private party valuation that KBB gives. And as a dealership he provided the services of DMV registration and all that, so I now prefer to buy from him than from a private party. As I said the car was not fully done and ready yet - driver door remote didn't work and needed to be fixed still - but I needed the car so I took it with understanding that I will being it back two days later when he was originally expecting to get the part and have it taken care of. On my return visit two days later as promised everything went smoothly and the door lock actuator was replaced by his service provider, and my car even got a second wash before I pick it up. They do car detailing and ceramic coating at their location too, which I will likely bring my other (nicer) cars to get done in near future. Sam is a good man running a solid business and this small dealership is on my list of recommendations to my friends going forward. I wrote this rather long review to help a good business continue to do well.

Sam also worked closely with a non-profit I used to work at, and as a result helped change the lives of many individuals who otherwise wouldn't have been able to find an affordable, quality car. Anyone who has experience dealing with car dealerships and salesmen knows that a car salesperson with an altruistic side is hard to find. Final note, while the lot is on the smaller side, Sam has previously been open to keeping an eye out at auctions for specific types of cars if a serious potential client has requests. If you don't need a car right this second this is something to consider.
