I initially connected with Apex when a friend suggested I might try using Yelp to find a contractor. Christian, the owner, came to give me an estimate on removing some nasty carpet from a bathroom and replacing it with more appropriate bathroom flooring. I was trying to get this done quickly to better meet family medical needs, so I wasn't too fussy about what it looked like. I described what was needed and he used his experience to suggest what would work best for our situation and he sent me a few pictures of different flooring and edging to choose from. He bought materials the next morning, and had good communication on keeping me updated for his arrival time after the materials purchase. One thing I really appreciated is that he was able to plan the work around elderly family needs with the bathroom. Even though there were other bathrooms in the home, because it was the best bathroom for an elderly person to use at night, he kept it functional between the first and second days of work. Even though this wasn't necessarily the most "efficient" way of working he prioritized our needs. He also kept everything very tidy around the area where work was being done, and was able to keep the hallway outside of the bathroom accessible during the day while he was working. After the work was complete, Christian had me look it over, made sure everything was clean and every last bit of debris from the project was removed from the property, and later that evening sent me an invoice online. It was convenient to access and pay the invoice with a card via a secure payment platform. Christian was also very professional and respectful in all aspects of our communication and working in the house. I also appreciated that he's very clear and specific on what types of work he does and what he doesn't, and his connections to people who can help with other construction specialties.
