Took to this place first, they quoted her nearly $4000 to repair. I'm not a sucker, so looked into it. The cover, all plastic, separates from bumper, and is $$310 at dealership, plus a couple $20 brackets to hold sensors. The sensors needed to be recalibrated, about $250 at dealership. I got one quote from another shop, $350 for his labor, $350 parts and $250 to recalibrate, total $950. New City Nissan quoted me $400 labor and calibration if needed and the $350 parts for total of $750. Ended up gong with the dealership. I'm sure many folks would've just taken thier quote though and not questioned it. They actually put charges for painting into the quote, there was zero painting to be done, plus lots of other extraneous charges, environmental fees, disposal fees etc... Total crooks, do not go there!

They took video of my vehicle as well as the damage and Jordan narrated what needed to be done and documenting existing damages to my vehicle. After the repairs were done I discovered some slight blemishes on the paint job. I took it back the next day and they were extremely apologetic and immediately set up and date and time for me to come back to have it taken care of. Although the driver slowed down, he kept going and made his escape onto H-1 eastbound. My insurance company, First Insurance, said I could take my car to any repair shop and get an estimate. I told them I would probably take my car to the Tony Group Collision Center in Waipio (even though I live in Manoa) since I purchased my car from Tony Hyundai. My insurance adjustor Jody said the Tony Group Collision Center is one of their preferred repair shops and they would not need an estimate beforehand, so I could call them and make an appointment immediately. First Insurance would also pay $50 per day to cover a rental vehicle. However, I would need to pay for gas and should not accept the insurance option since my own policy would cover the rental car. I took my car out to the Collision Center on 1/26 and Service Advisor Brandee Lee completed the estimate and said they would order the parts and schedule the repair appointment when the parts were in. She even helped temporarily secure the front bumper. On 2/7, Brandee called to say the parts were in, so I went to the Collision Center on 2/8 to drop off my car. A representative from Enterprise Rental was there to have me sign forms for the rental. Jean from the Collision Center told me they had an arrangement with Enterprise to provide cars at a $35 rate but since First would pay up to $50 per day, Jean arranged an upgrade. On 2/16, Brandee called to say my car would be ready to be picked up on 2/17. I actually went out on 2/18 to pick up my car. Jean from the Collision Center brought out my car and told me to just leave the rental car and she would contact Enterprise to arrange for the rental return. Suffice to say that I am extremely pleased at the service and turnaround which the Tony Group Collision Center accomplished. Both Brandee and Jean are extremely capable and made a stressful experience much more pleasant. While waiting a minute inside the shop for Jean to bring out my car, I noticed all the plaques on the wall which were from other car makers attesting to the Tony Group Collision Center's expertise in repair. So they can repair cars other than the Tony Group sells. This is an unqualified recommendation to use the Tony Group Collision Center. Now if I can only find that hit and run driver, his vehicle is gonna need a lot more than body work to tool around the city.

So convenient finding a repair shop that does their own towing, especially in our situation since it was a starter issue and we couldn't get our car started. Our car was with their shop for about 10 days. They picked it up and got the diagnosis done a few days later which we were fine with. I then received a detailed invoice with what was performed and also what the repairs would cost. I had to acknowledge the invoice and approve of the repairs before they started the work. I think that is great because we had a set amount we wanted to stay under. If the repair costed more we would've just gotten rid of the car. Once I approved the repairs, they completed them and we picked up the car two days later. (It was ready the next day but I got off work too late to get it from them).
