Love filling out paperwork for them not to even look at but instead comes in the room and asks the exact questions that we spend 10 minutes filling out. While sitting in a room for 45 minutes before being seen, I was able to hear personal conversations between employees and one over the phone. Will not being using this place again! Although quite small, the waiting area at Rapid Urgent Care in Covington is clean and comfortable, and the staff is most pleasant and helpful. In terms of overall quality of care, however, the very best I can say is that something isn't quite right here. I saw one doctor, an elderly gentleman, who apparently had diagnosed what was going on with me prior to walking in the room to see me. It would behoove him to introduce himself to his patient and to listen to what brought me in. Instead, this doctor presumed that he knew, perhaps from my simple sign-in papers, what my diagnosis and treatment should be....and he prefaced that by telling me he knew these things because he had two knee replacement surgeries. Well, heck, I could have just phoned it in rather than bother with actually visiting this place! And as for this Rapid Urgent Care, they need not worry...I will never darken their door again...and I strongly recommend that everyone else just drive a few more block to get some true care. Too bad for the young staff working there...they deserve a better practitioner to provide care after they do such a nice job of preparing clients for that. read more

Do yourself a favor.....just go to the emergency room at the hospital literally right down the street. This place is a money sucking joke that did NOTHING to help me. I am from out of state and was taken here for severe back spasms. I've had this issue numerous times in the past. I immediately told the receptionist EXACTLY what I needed. They had me fill out all the BS paperwork then stand there for 20 min waiting while I struggled to not go into spasms (there were no other patients here at this time that I could see). The nurse practitioner called me back, took my BP and weighed me. Then proceeded to tell me they couldn't give me what I required to stop the spasms and I needed to go to St Tammany ER. I asked if I was going to be charged my copay before I left and was told "no, they would take the charge off." Then charged me $115 to get my BP and weight checked. I called numerous times to question this only to never hear back from anyone. Customer service is a joke. Just do yourself a favor...... Avoid the headache and being robbed $115. Go to the ER at the hospital down the street. This place is THE WORST. If I could give it zero stars I would. St Tammany ER had me in and out in less than an hour. Go there. Not here. I was in and out of here in under half an hour with no nonsense on a Saturday around 1pm. We've used this location several times since it opened and I've always found the quality of care acceptable. It's an urgent care center after all, not your main doctor. You go when you can't get a regular appointment and the issue is not drastic enough for a hospital. One would never believe this story, it's truly a gem! We took wheelchair, old house with cracked sidewalks, fall just waiting to happen. Anyhow, I knew I had a UTI as I was in TOTAL pain and suffering the night the night before. Anyway , saw this Dr White. Right away I sensed his attitude was that of a patronizing OWG ( Old White Guy) I told him exactly the antibiotic I was comfortable with, no side effects. Oh no , his attitude was "Who's the Doctor here!" I said I wanted either Doxycycline or form of Amoxicillin. He kept telling me I have no bacteria in urine sample. I stopped listening . So what am I supposed to do buddy boy,? Go home, suffer, wait until I develop bacteria? I told him I had MS in Business Administration and worked Market Research. I knew what was safe Once again , you have no bacteria ! I HAVE A PHd AND IT COST A LOT OF MONEY. !!! So here's the kicker, I said I'm well aware of what that degree costs , I just finished paying for one for my daughter! He kept telling me he has treated thousands of patients and antibiotic he was.going to prescribe was safe, I was well aware of the drug, knew I had taken it before, simply not my drug of choice., Asked him Point blank , are you going to prescribe what I want or not? "NO".Got myself some Amoxicillin felt fine This ass was not going to ruin my trip to Florida. He call a few days later , said I did have some bacteria and he was "willing " to prescribe 5 pills . I really hope and pray these Dominant old white guys die out before the mangle someone for life or put someone in a wheelchair. Just a minute so buddy if you've got thousands of patients what the hell are you work doing working on a Taco Bell chop shop? Do not go there , trust me..Dr White deserves no respect whatsoever. I told him briefly what trouble I had taking Cipro. He actually said he could appreciate my concern when the " I am willing call came. " Well , listen up here to bud, taking that antibiotic gave me C-diff, there for 10 days in St. Tammany Hospital. Came home with ZERO leg strength. told I was going to have a pee bag for life. Had nonstop diarrhea for two months until I , me, myself and I found a drug to finally stop it! The drug is Viberzi, He can appreciate my concerns? Hardly. This washed up old doctor deserves absolutely NO respect. By the way, the person who prescribed the Cipro was a PA who worked for Josh Sleeper. Went back and asked him if this drug caused the C-diff, just shrugged his shoulders and saiid "It can". Remember his name SLEEPER. I came to the clinic bc I wasn't feeling great and worried that I had covid. I took an at home test and it was negative but wanted to confirm or figure out what's going on. I was shocked when I walked in the door that the front desk receptionist didn't have a mask on. I had a mask on because of my symptoms, obviously. But I was really concerned that this clinic is a covid testing site but staff do not seem to care there's a pandemic going on still. The medical assistant who took my blood pressure, temp AND covid test, did not have a mask on but she was really nice. Then after waiting 35 minutes, the doctor came in, without a mask on. He was nice but basically asked me what I wanted and I was like uh I guess a covid test? I want to make sure my at home test was correct. I get the test done, wait 20 minutes, he comes back and says it's negative but writing a prescription just in case it's some infection. Didn't test for anything else. I wish I would've asked for additional testing but it's really strange that I would have to specifically ask for that, when it should be the norm to test for flu, strep, covid, etc? It was a weird experience, the staff seem nice but I won't be coming back. It is crazy that we are still in a pandemic and this clinic refuses to wear masks when they are literally interacting WITH SICK PEOPLE. read more

After 4.5 hour wait was sent home with a steroid shot. Woman Dr there thought I couldn't possibly have an infection because temp was 99 even though I explained normal was 97 for me. Had false pos covid test there. Husband went somewhere else, so when I didn't get better and was coughing up blood went to the other place. Found out early stages of pneumonia from covid. I walked in the door 5 minutes late. That's bad I know but it was only 5 minutes. The receptionist was training a new receptionist so the check in and paperwork went slowly. Fifteen minutes passes and I am called to the desk to be informed that since I was late I'd have to be rescheduled. I'm ill and this is unacceptable. Besides this issue, my spouse saw this doctor and was misdiagnosed. I would stay far, far away from this clinic that appears to be very disorganized. My mother was just in the Covington location this morning and whomever the doctor was on staff did nothing. For the last 24-hours, she has done nothing but sleep. She hasn't been able to hold down food in that time and hasn't been able to have enough fluids either. They few moments that she was awake to talk to last night, she didn't remember this morning. And even though she didn't a fever, she sweat through 5 sets of pajamas through the night. Even though she has COPD due to smoking, her inhalers weren't working and when she would speak, she never could catch her breath. At her visit this morning, she was given a flu test (that came back negative). She could hear the doctor in the room next to her for at least 25 minutes. She could not hold her eyes open during this time and was asleep when the doctor came in. He asked her about the medications that she was taking, she told him. Once he found out that she smoked, he said "Well, what do you want? Just an antibiotic?" He wrote the script, then left the room, never to be seen again. Excuse me, but what? You have a patient with the above symptoms and you don't even try to figure out whats wrong? I mean, if he didn't want to to deal with her, he could have recommended that she go to the ER, but that didn't happen. But I am completely unsatisfied with the patient care and bedside manor that this doctor had. I called the office to see who the doctor in the office was but they person who answered the phone said that they could not give me that information over the phone. In short, the doctor at the Covington location the morning of 4/15 is a terrible representative of your company. And I really hope that my mother doesn't have something more serious going on and he didn't catch it. read more

If I could give less stars, I would. My 4-year-old son woke up with a fever on Wednesday, December 8th. I brought him to his pediatrician who tested him for the flu, which came back negative. She said if his fever didn't improve in 3 days to bring him back in. Three days later, the fever was still present and a rash appeared all over his body. His eyes were bloodshot and he was just miserable. Our doctor's office was closed, so we decided to bring him to Urgent Care. I was in tears and needed answers. We waited to see the doctor for two hours and once he came in, he barely assessed my son. Didn't listen to his chest, didn't order labs, didn't feel his lymph nodes, and only looked in his throat after I asked him to. He told me that he thought this was just a viral thing that had hit him particularly hard and would likely resolve in the next couple of days. He added "I'm going to prescribe antibiotics but don't take them unless he hasn't gotten better in a few days". He also told me to only give my son Tylenol instead of alternating with Motrin because "Motrin can sometimes cause rash and isn't really good at bringing fever down". When we left, after being seen for maybe 15 minutes, I started to wonder if maybe the person I saw was just a lay person pretending to be a doctor. That's how ridiculous the encounter was. It was a giant waste of time and I feel bad that my child was subjected to it. The next day I brought my son to the emergency room where he was admitted and treated for Kawasaki Disease! You can look that up if you'd like. It's horrifying. He's much better now because the staff at St. Tammany Parish Hospital is phenomenal and we received the best care possible. I wish I could remember the name of the physician that saw us because he is the most inept, unqualified provider that I have ever encountered. Please avoid this place, especially if you have a child in need. You are much better off bringing them to the emergency room. read more

I get that it isn't his specialty, but at least give me something worth the money I just spent to see you, sheesh. Went in on a Monday around 12:30ish and did not leave till 2pm. I went in with symptoms such as bad cough, runny nose, sore throat, headache. Nurse comes in ask me my symptoms DOB height and weight (no temp taken) then takes my blood pressure, ask me my symptoms and responds with do you want a covid test..strep or flu?? I looked at her a little crazy bc overall I came here and paid for her and the Doctor to tell me what I need to do right?? So I responded with you can do whatever you need to do to figure out why I feel so terrible. Then she says are you self pay and I interjected and said I have United so we can take whatever test we need to. She said AGAIN it's up to you I said I want all three test please! So she leaves 30 mins later swabs me for all three then leaves. NOW it's almost 2pm I asked how much longer the nurse says we're waiting on "her" and I said the doctor?? She says yes and I went back to the room. Doctor comes in 30 mins later the doctor comes in and says everything is negative but let me check your lungs and etc. after examination WITHOUT a temp check, no one not one single time checked my temperature while being here. Then doctor says shes writing me 3 prescriptions and we left. Now I don't know this for a fact but I did see all the staff eating lunch when I asked how much longer and maybe they were but in my opinion what does it hurt to see ONE last patient before EVERYONE goes to lunch and I'm stuck there feeling like crap listening to them crack jokes to eachother??? This is our go to urgent care lately. They open super early (6:30 am) which is a huge plus! Only once have we had to wait a unusually long time. Every doctor we have seen has been great! My husband, myself and our kids have all been seen, so it's perfect for all ages! The office staff is very nice. Highly recommend! read more
