That's important less for the powerlifting aspect but for the fact that Riptoe was very smart in coming up with exercises used to heal his broken back and is therefore still lifting in his 70s... Class was fun, well explained, and the coaching was attentive. I come from the NorCal Crossfit gym in CA which has some of the most respected names in crossfit and I didn't feel like the coaching was lacking here at all during the class. Will be back!

Whether it's about training, nutrition, or if you are a competitor, make sure you pick his brain as he is a world class trainer.

I should've really took my time to look around before I paid because I did not get what I was wanting. Within 2 sessions I knew that the gym and trainer was not for me and let the trainer know I wasn't going to continue with her. When I asked for a refund she then let me know that she didn't give refunds. This was a $110 waste of money and what's worse is that I specifically asked if there was a squat rack. Her gym does not have a proper squat rack yet I can't get my money back! I will continue to let people know about this place because in a small town word of mouth is everything.

It is unfortunate that Gina had difficulty getting through to use the gym as this is not a usual problem and phone messages are answered promptly. LR fitness 's main objective is to provide a service to the community and visitors. I want to encourage Gina on her next visit to Mackay to not "jump through any hoops", but just give us a call and we would be happy to get her in the gym to work out.
