    Making pizza
    Michael M.

If Qdoba did pizza this is how it would be done. You get in line, there is a menu board, but you also get to see them make it and can ask for more items (I'm sure thats the idea). Its relatively fast, I had to wait about ten minutes after I paid at the end of the line and thats not bad. I've had faster and better high heat pizzas but this was more akin to a chain pizza that a high heat flame based pizza. The ingredients were not the best but better than frozen pizzas. I thought for a flash pixie I was a little disapointed that there was no char or well broiled areas on the toppings. I hate it when I get a pizza that is under cooked, or where the cheese is not fully melted and toppings under cooked. I felt everything was cooked but not like I'd expect from a real artisan pizza. Its fast, good for families with kids or a party lunch after a game with the local soccer team or little league. But If it was date night or I was wanting something good there are better options nearby and across the bridge in Louisville that is far better.

Pizza crust was hard and dry. I got arugula on my pizza and they burnt it. Shouldn't a PIZZA joint know that arugula gets put on a pizza AFTER baking? I really didn't like the pizza and would not order again. I got this to go so maybe it would be better fresh.

On a rainy day of errands and home projects, I had all the feels for junk food. My boyfriend and I had recently started the Keto diet.  So regardless of the cravings, I knew my choices were limited.  I recently overheard someone say that Rapid Fire Pizza had a crustless pizza.  This peaked my appetite.  After some home repair shopping next door (ish), we headed to Rapid Fire Pizza to order.  It's set up like many 'make your own' style food spots, a banquet table of toppings, sauces, seasonings, and dough/crust choices.  Do to our recent diet switch - we both ordered the crustless.   The Crustless is made up of the base sauce of your choice - he chose ranch and I chose classic tomato. (Well knowing that my classic tomato would probably have some carbs, I took the gamble regardless.)  Then they mix parmesan and fresh spinach leaves right on top of the sauce layer. Then comes a layer of mozzarella, your choice of toppings, and a quick zing in the oven.   So you're probably thinking what I was initially thinking.....I paid $8.25 for a tray of toppings. Yes, but there's something about it that meets all of your cravings for pizza. I sure wouldn't buy and prepare all the pizza toppings, I don't have the pizza pans, the fire grill oven, the delish Pepsi machine allowing you to add flavors and whatever at home.  My boyfriend and I were both very pleased.  He had a mushroom, sausage crumble olive, onion, ranch.  I had sausage crumble, light pepperoni, peppers, & onions with classic pizza sauce.  It was actually very, very good. And we will go back.   I talked with an employee there about keto desserts, hey, a girl can dream.

Delicious. Quick. Clean. Friendly. Fresh!! Five great words for this place and five stars!! I got the create my own thin crust with extra sauce. (I like it saucy) my husband got the taco thin crust which I thought was delicious as well. My son got the Hawaiian pizza which I did not like but he devoured it!! All ingredients looks fresh and they made it right there in front of you. Cute little patio area but no umbrellas. It was too hot for us to sit outside anyhow. Staff was very friendly and all wore gloves. One the pizzas went into the oven it was five minutes and done. Wow!! Give it a try they also have gluten free dough salads amd crustless pizza bowls.

Fast fresh pizza made to order! Think subway for pizza!!$5 kid meal 1/2 pizza cookies and drink. $8.25 for amazing salad Right next to Popeyes chicken.

Checked it out for the first time today. Great experience. I would relate it to the pizza version of Chipotle or Subway. You get to choose everything, thin or original crust, sauce, toppings, the whole 9 yards. Everything is moderately priced and not too expensive. Only thing was the Pepsi was a little flat, but that's not that big of a deal. They do have the Pepsi-version of the 100+ flavors Coca-Cola machine. I'll be back!

The "Taco" pizza with jalapeños added...only it was delivered without lettuce and jalapeños... Taco Pizza

The pepperoni sticks are good but the taco pizza did not come as listed on the menu (no lettuce) plus I added jalapeños and they weren't on the pizza.

    My excellent free birthday pizza
    Jason E.

Got a free birthday desert pizza here last week from their text club. I chose the Caramel apple flavor. At first I thought it wasn't going to have enough filling but when they cooked it the apples plumped up nicely. It was a good contrast of flavors. Between the slightly scorched edges and buttery crust to the sweet apples. This is not my first visit here so let me give you a tip. Always pay extra and build the pizza you want because you can just keep adding toppings until it is a feast. Never, Never order a 1 topping because you will be sad and hungry. Always don't forget the free sauces. I love dipping the crust in garlic butter.

No-Doh. White out pizza and Sun king Osiris Pale ale.

Parking lot is small but there was plenty of room beings it wasn't very busy. Getting prompt service wasn't a problem. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza with a drink and garlic butter. I dined inside this visit and it was clean and organized. It's small but gives you that Pizzaria vibe. It was about a 20 minute wait for the pizza, it was cooked well and had a good crunch. I do like the shredded pepperoni vs round. I wish more places did this, only here and Arnies in New Albany does this shredded pepperoni. It does in a way taste like school cafeteria pizza but, I'm not complaining. I do like the pizza here and plan to return someday when in the area.

Ordered a variety of things such as the Meat ball sub (Vienna roll with meatballs, marinara, mozzarella, provolone and onion), the Boneless wings with buffalo sauce, and the BBQ pizza: sausage, cheese, onions and BBQ sauce. The pizza crust is thin and cracker-y like Chicago tavern style and it was just OK, I like a bit more chew to my crust. The wings were fine, your basic nugget with sauce, nothing bad, nothing great. The sub was good, I liked the bread used and the meatballs were a good size and very flavorful. The only thing I had an issue with is that this place really likes to use onion. And not just onion, big pieces of raw onion. It was a lot and really dominated the flavor of the food. It was so heavy handed that were I to come back I would ask to leave it off entirely because I dont even trust that they would listen to a request of "light onion". Overall, OK place, especially if you are an onion lover!

At 12:30 in the afternoon the place was a ghost town, not a single person in the restaurant and 1 in the bar. The 3 members of the staff were standing around talking, I ordered online and had a 12:35 pick-up time. I had asked for some Parmesan and plates and one of the girls kind of snapped "we don't have any plates"! The girl at the register said to wait as she believed they did, she did come back with some. I got my food and drove directly back to my office, which according to Google is 5.4 miles from the restaurant. The food was not even what I would call luke warm, and I also did not get what I ordered on one of the pizzas. I have to also say that even though the sausage, peperoni and olives I would expect to have some saltiness to it, you better have plenty of water handy!!! With all that being said a restaurant on 10th st at 12:30 in the afternoon empty, should have probably told me something being a first time customer. I would also say 2 Med pizzas and a sandwich for $72 is pretty crazy!

Tucked away on Frankfort Avenue, it's a little off the beaten path, and parking can be an adventure. There's a small lot by the restaurant with overflow parking further down the hill. Somehow we managed to snag the only open space right outside the front door, which felt like winning a very specific Louisville lottery. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and the place was already buzzing. It was packed with locals, which is usually a good sign. While our table was being bussed, three different employees checked to make sure we were being helped. We let them know we were just a little early and waiting on our table, but it spoke volumes about the attentiveness of the staff. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a neighbourhood pizza spot: relaxed, lively, and unpretentious. The soundtrack quietly floating through the speakers was a crate-digger's delight, full of songs that have been sampled throughout hip-hop history. Hearing Lynn Collins' Think (About It) while waiting for dinner felt particularly apt following the recent passing of Rob Base. The song's iconic break became the foundation of It Takes Two, one of hip-hop's most recognisable records, and it was a nice reminder of how deeply great music connects generations. To start, we ordered the Olives & Togarashi, a bowl of Castelvetrano olives coated in a wonderfully aromatic blend of spices with notes of fennel, sesame and citrus. My son tried his first olive and was genuinely shocked by the flavour. He'll come around eventually. For the main event, we ordered three large pizzas: the DOP Margherita, the Funghi and the Original Sting. The DOP Margherita showcases imported buffalo mozzarella from Campania alongside basil and San Marzano tomatoes. The Funghi is loaded with an incredible blend of mushrooms, taleggio, pecorino cream and mozzarella. The Original Sting combines soppressata, fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato and spicy local honey in a sweet-and-savoury combination that completely works. Now, let's talk about the crust. It is perfect. Pillowy and light, yet substantial enough to give you that satisfying chew. The wood-fired oven creates just the right amount of charred bubbling around the edges. Our server offered house-made ranch and other dipping sauces for the crust, but we politely declined. This pizza doesn't need any enhancers. The balance of flavours across all three pies was exceptional. I've eaten pizza all over the world, and Pizza Lupo belongs in that conversation. It really is that good. We had a plan: sample all three pizzas and leave just enough room to split the tiramisu. Thankfully, we stuck to it. The tiramisu was fresh, light and beautifully balanced. Not overly sweet, nicely moist, with just enough espresso flavour coming through. It was the perfect finish to an outstanding meal. The service was fast without feeling rushed, friendly without feeling scripted, and genuine throughout the evening. We left full, not bloated, and happy as spring lambs, already talking about what we'd order next time. We'll defo be back. Cheers, Sam

My book club met at Impellizzeri's this week, and upon discovering several of us have dietary limitations, the server and kitchen staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and ensure our ongoing health. A wonderful kitchen wizard ventured out into the dining room to talk to us personally, and confirmed that all the traditional pizza doughs, pastas, and red sauces are vegan. He offered to create a custom pasta dish with a variety of vegetables (spaghetti pomarola with garlic, spinach, and mushrooms), and ensured that the breadsticks that accompany the pasta dish (traditionally made with garlic butter and cheese) were vegan, prepared in a separate location in the kitchen to ensure no dairy contamination. For those with other food allergies and intolerances they ensured every detail was correct, even noticing that a pizza that was inadvertently prepared with an offending food item, and remaking it before it was even finished baking. Pricing is incredibly reasonable for the quantity and the truly excellent service, which is what truly made the experience special. My pasta dish was tasty. Is it the best pasta I've ever had? No - but it wasn't trying to be. What Impellizzeri's does well is serve good food at reasonable prices, in a location and with people who have an eye for detail and a passion for excellent customer service. Well done.
