Wow my skin has come such a long way from when I first started seeing Dr. Wu!! The picture above was my skin (around early April) before I started acupuncture treatment and the picture below (almost end of May) is my skin right now. The acne was primarily on my chin area due to going off the pill. The acne was so painful and I would get deep cysts that would grow one after another. I was desperate to cure my acne and getting my body on track after the pill, but knew that I wanted to treat it naturally. So I went on Yelp and searched naturopath and found Rapha Acupuncture. The reviews seemed convincing so I decided to go in for a consultation. Dr. Wu was very thorough in explaining why acne was flaring up on my face. She said it was due to toxins (probably all the synthetic hormones from the pill) building up in my body and in turn was also showing up on my face. She recommended that I come in twice a week for acupuncture treatment and take Chinese herbs 3x/day to detox my body. (Note: I've never done acupuncture before but the pain is actually not that bad. The cosmetic acupuncture hurts a bit, nothing unbearable tho) After 1 week, the acne calmed down a bit, but I would still get 1 or 2 pimples. Chinese medicine usually takes time to work so you have to be patient. By around the 3rd week (6 treatments in), I noticed a HUGE difference in my skin. No more new pimples/cysts and scarring starting to fade. I was so happy that my skin was FINALLY getting back to normal. The total cost of the treatments and herbs for a month was about $800-900. My insurance also didn't cover. It is expensive but I think it's totally worth it. I've tried so many prescription drugs (including Accutane), lasers, facial treatments but THIS really made a difference on my skin and I really think my acne will not be coming back! I still have a little bit of scarring so it will take time for that to I've learned that acne is usually a sign that something in the body is not right and you need to heal the body inside out in order to cure what's on your face. All i can say is, shes magical! I have been suffered with cramps since i have period. It got worse over the years. I been taking pain killer none stop every month since i start college. I am so glad I found Dr. Wu. I wasn't particularly looking for this clinic at first and was browsing Yelp for local acupuncture clinics for my dad with arm pain. Saw this clinic with great reviews and read one review who said they brought their baby here for eczema. My son who is now 7 months has been battling eczema since he was 2 months old. Every time we went to the pediatrician we would get prescribed hydrocortisone creams and was told to apply no more than 2x a day. Even when I put the cortisone on him, he would get better for a few hours then break out again. I was having a tough time with him at night trying to keep his hands from clawing his face means no sleep for me. He would wake up 2x at night from itchyness to feed. I visited the clinic to relieve my fever and coughing problem, and had the acupuncture experience for the first time.
