We tore out a really outdated stair railing with the thought of replacing it at some point with…read moresomething more modern. Fast forward almost 5 years and still no railing was installed. Now we want to sell our house and found that we needed to install something so that we could pass inspection. We looked at several options and could not wrap our heads around building something ourselves - we are definitely not contractors and not very successful do-it-yourselfers. I called and put feelers out for several contractors with no real bites. Thankfully, Randy reached out to us and offered to send Stephen out to give us a quote. Stephen came out and took a look at what we did and was so great - he didn't laugh at our handiwork. He promised us a quote by the following day and told us that he could build and install something within the same week. We received our quote and signed the paperwork... it was that easy. Stephen removed my old deck in one day and then went to work on creating my new one. It is 25' X…read more20', so we're talking big deck. It is free-standing off my yard. The wood is cedar and we decided to use cables to keep the view open. There is no table up yet, as we are still social distancing, but it's so nice to be on a beautiful new deck. American MasterCraft's name was presented to us directly during the referral and communications related to this project, and the individual who performed the work identified himself as operating under that association. At no point were we informed that this was unauthorized or unrelated to your company until after the work was left incomplete and concerns were raised. Barry, himself, along with my 3 witnesses that personally saw Barry, Jason and the gentlemen with a ford truck There is documentation, including messages and representations, connecting the work performed to American MasterCraft and affiliated business names. . From the homeowner's perspective, workers arrived at our residence, performed partial work (Which still remains unfinished), accepted payment, attempted to change pricing mid-project, failed to complete the agreed scope, and then ceased communication. Lets not forget after contacting me (barry), Barry sent out Jason the very next day at 10am, i made Jason called Barry in front of me, my wife, my father and a worker at our home that we had to paused service for while Jason came by, Barry answered the phone and said he said he sent Jason to do a estimate. Regardless of internal authorization disputes, the result for our family was and is the same: incomplete and damaged work with no resolution. Jason did receive payment with a receipt from us as he didn't have one on him and we have the bank statement after he kept pressuring us to pay him. If your company name was misused, that is a serious issue that you need to address with Jason & Barry, your worker you are denying, and one you should investigate internally. However, as the homeowner, I can only review and document what was presented to us and what occurred at our home along with what i, personally, experienced from this company. We are willing to communicate privately, We are willing to update or amend this review if the situation is resolved and the outstanding work and payments are addressed and handled. The Assistant Carpenter was also extremely conscientious when it came to dismantling the windows, frames, and wood work. Jorge was replaced by Sergey to do cutting for the final three days of construction and finish work. The final product was worth every minute. All of the joints were airtight. Each miter cut was exact. John is a cabinet maker and it is evident every time I look at my new windows. They were able to maintain the visual harmony of design that you find in some of your nicer 100 plus year old Craftsman houses. This is in my parents home and apparently carpeting bathrooms was a thing in the 70's. Sam came by to have a look a day or two after we first connected thru Yelp and scheduled the job a few days after that. Sam is very knowledgeable about all types of flooring and shares his experiences and recommendations in a positive and easy-to-understand manner. He does not sell flooring but he knows how and where to get the right stuff. He was sending me links for baseboard at 9:30pm! Sam showed up ON TIME even after stopping by Lowes to pick up some materials I purchased online. Once he got here, he immediately started working and when finished he thoroughly cleaned up. Additionally, they repainted the upstairs hallway and bedroom, retextured the ceilings, installed new lighting and installed five new doors upstairs including new trim and a new window. Throughout the process Jonny was sure to make sure the project was meeting our needs.
