Accidentally went to this location instead of a nearby salon that I had intended to go to. It looked clean and presentable from the outside, plus I was in search of a new threading salon in the area since going to my usual threading salon in Jackson Heights isn't always optimal. The lady, who I presumed was the owner, kept things at a minimal. Didn't really try to make conversation and didn't even prep my brows. She was pretty gentle with the threading and I tend to not assume whether the outcome would be good or not, based on how gentle or not the threading is because I've had good and bad results from both. I trust that she probably knew what she was doing but it felt like she showed very minimal effort. In fact, I think she rushed through it when one of her customers (who seems to be a regular) walked in with a friend. The brows came out OK, but I didn't feel like she put in a lot of effort and I may have to get them redone again next week. She didn't even put some soothing cream for the aftercare! The worst part was when I went to pay, she said it was $10--while her menu clearly shows $8 for brow threading. When I asked her about this, she said, "those were the prices before the pandemic. I've been here for 15 years." I doubt that's the case and I don't know if she saw me as a potential returning customer enough or was just trying to take advantage of my first-time patronage, but she lost any chance of me returning again. I'd like to think that 2+ years of the pandemic has been enough time to take down your old price list or even tape over them if that's more economical, but verbally quoting a price that isn't reflected on your price list makes you look dishonest. read more

I'm always hesitant to trust people with my brows, but decided to give it a shot since I was in the area after getting my nails done. I went with a friend and I went first; after we walked in, shortly after, two more people walked in. She did a great job on my brows and shaped them nicely. When she got to my friend, I think she felt a bit under pressure because the job was a little more rushed. My friend had to inform her of some spots that she had missed. Ranju is the place to go to get your eyebrows threaded! I used to get my brows waxed, but they always took too much off because of the wax. Not good! Anyway, I was introduced to threading and I will never go back to waxing! Ranju's salon is clean and they offer so many other services. Ranju herself is the only one that does my brows-she won't let her associate touch me. It's only because my brows are tricky though. The other girl who works in there is good! uneffing real..... first time i went in and they effed up my brows... i went again bc i was desperate and they took off half my eyebrow. I didnt realize how badly they messed up until i stepped outside. I've been getting different services here for 10 years +. Mostly eyebrow threading but when I'm feeling luxurious I will get a facial and they always have great deals when the holidays come around. So I went here today for the first because it was just a place in the neighborhood and I was running errands and needed my eyebrows done. I've been growing out my eyebrows for three years to finally get them to the thickness I liked, and so when I was sitting in the chair I told the woman NOT to touch the hairs I was growing out and to just clean up the rest. Instead I don't know if it was misunderstanding or not but she completely butchered my beautiful thick brows and turned them into skinny thin ones. Of course I didn't say anything in the store because I also didn't check them out right away but still I'm so upset that the woman didn't listen to what I asked! Haven't been to this place in a few years but I went because my previous eyebrow lady at a different salon moved. I went about a month ago and I loved my eyebrows I then went last Friday for my eyebrows and the lady asked if I wanted lip I said no she responded "are you sure they are long?" Like what?! Then I looked at my right eyebrow and its missing a chunk, great. I go and pay and she said $9 I handed a $10 bill and she said ok have a nice day, um can I have my change back? Even though they do good threading, the facials and the service are awful. You ask the owner to do your facial and in the middle of it while you are relaxed the other lady finishes it. Ranju is so professional and sweet, she is the ONLY person I trust with my brows! 100% recommend to anyone looking to have their brows crafted to the structure of their face. She takes her time, never rushes, and won't quit until your brows are pure perfection. To some it may be a little pricey as compared to other stores, however in my eyes your pay for the quality. If you go somewhere and they only charge you 4-5$, then you're going to get a 4-5$ look. Eyebrows are so important, they shape the face. Let me tell you my story: About 5 years ago I had gone to another place and they RUINED my eyebrows! They even burned off some hair! I just had my eyebrows done for the first time at this salon and it was done very well. I don't trust just anyone with my eyebrows but I was in a huge rush and had no choice. I have given it a few times just to see if it would get better, but unfortunately every time I leave there I still see extra hairs that could have been removed. My eyes have been cut a few times and they never ask me if I want any lotion. I think they charge a bit too much money for eyebrows and lip. Hate to be a Negative Nancy, but their threading job was not "all that." I am a creature of habit and like to stick to 1 good/consistent place, but yesterday, I didn't have time. So, I had to take a chance and go somewhere/anywhere new to me. Ranju's was across the street from where I was. When I walked in, she was was talking with a client, and the lady asked what I needed, then she told me to take a chair. She finished her convo then started on me. Regular cleanup job, but I feel that she cut me on my eye lid, feels sting-y when I touch it. When she was done, she didn't offer me any lotion. So I had to ask for lotion and then she did the lotion part for me. Then it was time to pay. I did brow and lip, she charged me $15 and I gave her $19. Unfortunately for her, I grabbed a pamphlet on the way out as well. So when I got back to my party that I was attending, I opened the pamphlet and read that brow was $8 and lip was $6 = $14 not $15. It's not a big deal, but it's just the principle of jerking me for an extra $1 when I already gave you a $4 tip. That's what I get when I try new places...just thought I'd share that experience. read more

Decided to try this place for the first time, and was pretty happy with the results. I came in to do my eyebrows and there was no wait. The lady who did my eyebrows was nice and knew what she was doing. While she was doing them, she periodically showed them to my in the mirror so I could see. They came out symmetrical and not too thin which is good. After 5 visits, your 6th visit is free which is nice because $8 for eyebrow threading is little more expensive than I'm used to. read more

I wish I could give negative stars I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE this place! DO NOT GO YOU WILL REGRET IT! I used to go here only because it was the closest place to my house. Ranju constantly tells you that she is the best and she does eyebrows the best don't go anywhere else. She criticizes you for plucking and accuses you of plucking when you haven't. her and her assistant do the same thing they think they are the best and clearly are not. they cut my eyes and mess up my eyebrows every time! They don't ask if you want lotion after they just butchered your brows and if you ask they give you a look as if you asked them to do something so hard.And to top it off she overcharges you! They charge wayyyy too much for the crap job they do. If you don't show up exactly every two weeks they interrogate you about where you have been. I am so glad I don't go here anymore it has been such a terrible experience every time I go. I am so glad a place opened by my house and is cheaper and they do a BETTER job. read more
