Employees aim pistols, rifles, and assault-style weapons out at the lanes or around the building when they are bored. Yet, the manager prevents members from wearing a single nitrile glove when loading an air pistol to prevent contact with lead because, he says, those type of gloves are used to prevent fingerprints on weapons and ammo by people practicing at the location to commit crimes. Really? So, your policy is to endanger peoples' health in order to prevent possible criminals from practicing for a crime at your location? Maybe the problem is that you allow people practicing for crimes at your location !

He begins the class by telling everyone the class should be three days long and he's right. He did an excellent job of putting the important content into an 8 hour class. The content flowed well, was prioritized accordingly and communicated very clearly. He encouraged questions at any time throughout the day. As someone who has grown up around firearms of all types it only took 15 minutes to determine John truly is an expert who's highest priority at all times is gun safety. Top to bottom John covers what you need to know to make informed decisions. He offers other courses that I plan on attending in the near future. Any cons I could think of....the course is 8 hours. All of 8 hours. It is long but that is not John's choice, it is a state requirement. Be prepared for a full day. And if it were up to John, for the sake of his students, it would be longer. I strongly recommend anyone considering owning a firearm to take his course even if they do not plan to carry concealed.

I just needed to find a reputable gunsmith and completely by happenstance I did...Being left-handed I needed to get the magazine releases on my SAR B6P and SAR9 swapped over and didn't have the necessary tools or knowledge... Stopped in and dealt with the man himself and even though he didn't have familiarity with my specific weapons he said give him a day and he'd have them ready...A little over 3 hours later I get a call to come pick up my weapons... Price for his services were damn reasonable and both guns are now suited to me and my left handed sensibilities...I'll be back for more work as I've got a revolver that's not cycling consistently and I need it working right... If you're a shooter and having issues with a weapon or need service work on a weapon I believe it's worth a trip to Gonzales, LA...

Burk is an AMAZING teacher who genuinely cares about each of his students learning and passing. I struggle in a class setting because I am pretty sure I have ADD. But I struggle even more with online classes so I knew I needed the class setting. Burk teaches in a way that is very engaging. He has a very calculated way of teaching designed to give you mental breaks (telling stories, cracking jokes,) which prevents you from just feeling overwhelmed and spacing out. I really enjoyed his classes. He offers a two week course Mon-Fri 9a-1pm monthly. You can sit through it Again for free for up to 3 months. I sat through it twice because both of my boys got sick and derailed my study time. I was thankful for the opportunity to attend twice. In addition to learning the ins & outs of Louisiana and National Real Estate, he had professionals sit in to show us a mock closing, and talk about home inspections. He also offers night classes. Not only does he offer Baton Rouge classes but also Lafayette, Lake Charles, Mandeville, Monroe, and Metairie. I came for Louisiana Real Estate but he offers many courses including Mississippi Real Estate, Mortgage Origination, Home Inspection, Residential Appraiser, Insurance, Auctioneering, and Louisiana Broker. His wife Lisa teaches the math portions and she's wonderful, she also offers a math tutoring class monthly. I can't wait to pass my test and get my License! Thanks to Burk I'm convinced this will happen sooner than later. When you arrive, pass the building take the first right and park in the lot BEHIND the building (behind comic store.) He also has a computer lab available to all students to use all day during the week. This was extremely helpful for studying. Thanks Burk!
