Our journey starts in approximately February of last year. We got a quote to get our roof…read moreprofessionally replaced and repaired. We decide our shingle and gutter colors and everything seemed great, planned and ready to go. This is during a supply shortage so we get delayed a month or so due to availability of shingles. Sure, no problem. The installation begins: the contractors arrive and seemed professional enough to know what they're doing and they get started ripping things off and replacing. First incident is my neighbor picks up a handful of nails that were left in the street after the first day of work. Unacceptable, but they responded respectively with my feedback. 2nd day into the work they let me know they underestimated the amount of shingles and need approximately $2,000 more including labor. We decline and but pay some pity because of it being a mistake. Here's the catch. We have to wait for more shingles, --for 3 months. All the while 4 different leaks developed with a half blue and half brown roof. Keep in mind, all of the communications with AVCO have been extremely delayed and they showed up multiple times without notice. They fix the leaks; repaint it and all. I accept it. And still being lenient. They continue the roof replacement and the blue shingles look amazing. Another 3 months go by with little communication on when the gutters will be installed and the pricing. The gutters get installed initially, completely incorrectly. At this point, the person who gave us our initial quote was 'fixing' his contractors work. The gutters continued to hold water and drain incorrectly. We come to find there is a sagging section of the roof that they should've contacted us regarding and at least given us the choice to get it repair or not. But no one ever spoke about it potentially being a problem. To this day we have yet to pay for the gutters as they still are left incorrectly done and still holding just a little bit of water, not to mention a corner being finished with the wrong type of leaf catcher because they ran out or got lazy. This is not a reliable company. They contract out there work to anyone who will do it for a low wage.

An unfortunate event unfolded where Tom couldn't make it to the scheduled time and he then referred me to his worker, Matthew. I got in touch with Matthew and they came over to check the carpet. I asked them how much it would cost and he told me what Tom quoted me for and I asked if we can go $150 since the job is so small. Matthew agreed but couldn't do the repair immediately since we needed replacement carpet for the closet. He left and said he would be in contact. A few days went by but I haven't heard from him. I sent him a message for a follow up but never heard from him again. Overall, I felt though the customer service was lacking. This happened over ~2.5 week period. I had to do all the initiation in calling them and trying to get on their schedule. I'm sure they do good work but they ghosted me.

We paid them over 50k dollars, and we ended…read moreup with Multiple quality issues, like huge knots with holes in the main room door casing, cabinets that were supposed to be custom, but instead, were out of a box from a store, painting that was never completed, nails that went thru the wall to another room, a big hole in the ceiling from a worker running wiring or plumbing up in the attic, and lights that worked fine until the new lights were installed by XYZ. Now, the light switches don't work to turn the lights on and off the way they are supposed to. They fixed some of the things that were carpentry related, but you can still see where each problem was on the walls and celiings. They said they would send a licensed electrician to fix it after the 3rd try to wire correctly, but then 2 weeks later, they changed their minds and refuse to fix the electrical stating it was preexisting. The previous light fixtures worked perfectly. Now, the new fixtures don't. The only thing that happened was XYZ installing the new ones. They came back twice to fix them, with 2 different people, but they couldn't figure out what to do. We were told it was a 2 week job, but it took over 7 weeks and still was not finished. Unfortunately, we paid them in full, which was a huge mistake on us. We believed they would come back and make everything right. We got a lot of promises, promises, promises. But little to no follow through. We chose the finishes and appliances we wanted, but did not get any of them, instead we got cheaper quality, different colors, and finishes that were not what we asked for. Unfortunately, we accepted their choices because by then we had NO kitchen for several weeks and felt that we were stuck. We deeply regret that. This was our experience. If you choose XYZ, we hope your experience is better than what ours was. We have never had anything like this happen with other contractors. It's been very disheartening. We're giving 2 stars instead of 1 because we did eventually end up with a kitchen. It is usable and looks a lot better from standing back away. We had to do a lot of fixing things ourselves. We even had to hire people to fix things that they didn't fix right, or didn't fix at all. We hope they learned and will do better for others from this experience. We have learned a lot and will never be so trusting and patient again. We are seniors, and we thought this would be our dream kitchen we always wanted. Not a nightmare. Added after Tiffany's response: Apparently, they have no problem sleeping at night, even after so many lies. I stand by my review. Tiffany was full of ideas and asked many questions I had never thought of and both her and Jack collaborated in giving such great ideas and started planning our project. The bid was more than fair and they showed up as promised the following day to start the project, I had lost faith in other contractors as they would not event show up or send me a bid. As the project got underway, we ran into some issues that were related to the original builders of my home, boards that were crooked, not level etc.. Jack made sure to spend extra time to replace bad boards, and make sure everything was strait and plumb. (the only strait walls in my home are the ones XYZ (Jack) built). Jack will not accept anything but perfection, period. Tiffany has a great sense of design and took my vision to the next level. We now have a sunroom, a place to chill and watch the birds from our floor to ceiling windows. We were originally going to do the finish work ( painting, texturing, floors,) ourselves, but after I saw what XYZ was capable of we decided to have them finish out our dream and it is FANTASTIC!!! Jack and Tiffany are wonderful people who care about your project and it shows. I have a few more small projects and possibly another complete construction and will not hesitate to call XYZ!
