I used My Guy to remodel my main bathroom. Their bid was inline with other bids but they were able to complete the job in a much shorter time frame. I do regret my decision. The main crew that did the tear out and rebuild did a good job, as well as the electricians. The problems came in with the plumbers and painters. The plumbers (only one spoke English (and was not always on the job) they did not seem to know how to install high end Delta faucets. After 2 months when I did my own cleaning I realized the spray head at the tub did not work. I called the office about it. I never heard back from them about getting it fixed. I waited a few months and called again. It has been a year now and they have not come back to repair it. The painters were horrible! They did not cover my new floor tile when spraying the ceiling. I scrubbed it when they left that day and complained to My Guy. The painters came the next day and said they would clean it when they finish...but didn't. My cleaning service scrubbed a long time to get it off. The painters also sprayed the cabinets with oil based paint in only one very heavy coat. Which was not very pretty and took a very long time to thoroughly dry and harden. The foreman came to the job site once and did not come back after the job completion, they only sent a young boy to pick up the final payment. My mistake was paying it before a thorough inspection. read more

MyGuy converted a bedroom into a formal dining room, opening the front of our home. Before, the dining space was separate from the home so by opening walls and converting the space, we are able to maximize the square footage. Hunter's teams were on time, responsive and diligent to ensure all the fine details were met. They started on time and finished on time. They opened two walls, one of which was load bearing so a beam was added for support. They moved the ceiling electrical outlet where a fan use to be so that the light would be centered in the new space. They closed off the bedroom door and now the wall is seamless. They installed new hard wood floors to match existing flooring and cased all openings with custom trim. We could not be happier with the process and finished product. I wanted to share a very positive remodeling experience. I had saved money for 3 years to get work done on my home. I picked My Guy after hearing many positive comments about them. I had all the carpet removed and porcelain tile placed thruout. Chase did a remarkable job laying the tile. He and the crew also removed wallpaper in my bathroom and painted it. My paneled den was also painted as well as my fireplace. The work was very professional. They listened to me and explained everything to me. They wanted to make sure I was happy thru out the process. Jarin also checked on me daily and at times helped with various aspects of the job. My Guy made me very comfortable spending my hard earned money on a beautiful remodel. Hello neighbors. I wanted to leave an anti-recommendation for the handyman services of Hunter Price, since I've seen his signs around the area. Unless you can work with his carpenter, Lico, then I'd steer clear if finishing details matter to you. I hired Hunter to perform some deck repair, including replacing old deck boards, repairing supports as needed, replacing railing tops and decorative lattice, and leveling of pavers. Once the carpenters were done with the framing and boards, Hunter took over and the quality of work unfortunately took a steep dive. Examples: - Didn't bring his own reciprocating saw, so I offered use of my mine. It was returned with several bent, unusable blades. He blamed it on flimsy blades despite the fact that they were quality blades I've used over 2 years to cut trees, PVC and metal with without issue, before remembering that it wasn't his property and replacing. - Used leftover cuts of lumber for one of the railings instead of a single piece. Even his own carpenter told me he should have used a single 14' piece. When I asked him to replace, the new piece's angle was not flush to the neighboring board and left a large gap. I pointed it out and his excuse was that he didn't have a table saw (so why do it then?) and that he was focused on making the tops flush (they weren't). - Uneven 1/2 circle rounding of railing ends. Asked to remove entirely in favor of squared ends as a fix, which he later blamed as contributing to extended timeline. - Instead of circular saw or table saw to cut lattice and step-down, used reciprocating saw but one-handed and not against guard to support/steady resulting in jagged, uneven edges. - Patched sections of lattice together where a single sheet would have looked better, as originally present in all but two places. When inadequate sections pointed out, he put the new pieces on without removing the other pieces and resulted in layers of lattice. I was so annoyed, I even helped out for a few hours one day and marked actual measurements, having done the lattice elsewhere on my property. I was later told this disrupted his flow, yet he had left for several of the hours I was out there to go to another site. - Dropped lumber on shrubs, killing one and damaging several others. Screwed down several obvious branches of crape myrtle under new railing board. Literally 2 minutes after pointing out damage and him saying "I need to be more aware of the plants," he received a call and dropped lattice directly atop two more shrubs to take the call. - "Forgot" that treated wood needs to dry out before staining/sealing, necessitating his future return when the existing railings were salvageable had I known this detail. - Claims staining/sealing was not part of bid and would be extra cost despite email record from me with bullet points clarifying scope of work and his confirmation prior to accepting bid. - Claimed he specializes in stonework, but the pavers are still not level and now sit higher than the frame. Several are now broken, and all are covered in concrete residue discoloring them. Frame dismantled then left with a "for some reason it wouldn't go back together completely." - Blamed me for extension of project timeline to 5 weeks, originally 1 week, due to me asking him to fix things that were not done properly to begin with. To note, he wasn't even consistently at my job but would go days without returning and leaving unfinished work. - Asked for balance of project before it was even 1/2 done so he could "pay his guys," which I foolishly agreed to. I wasn't able to negotiate for any reimbursement as he "doesn't have any extra money" and had spent all that was budgeted. He also expressed that the project was completed per the bid, when in fact it was not since the staining was still pending. Apparently completing the work is not the same as completing the work well. Now, I'm admittedly a bit particular, but you should be when you're spending hard-earned money on home investments. Finishing details are the things you and others will see! I've had family and 3 other professionals out who've agreed with my assessment. Never had these problems on previous projects. All the above is to say, I'd stay away from using Hunter. I'll be having someone else come in to fix the work, but feel free to come by if you'd like to see the quality or lack thereof first-hand. read more

My Guy Remodeling came out to do a porch enclosure. This is the 2nd job they ve done for us on this very old house. We really liked the professional they sent out to do the work, as well as the excellent work that was done. Both times we were lucky enough to have the same professional accomplish yet another feat on this old house and make it look so good. Great service, great price and honest!!! I have called on Hunter and his team so many times over the last year and they have never failed to deliver! I had a big problem with slab leaks and he had plumbers to fix it and a great team to fix the damage (it looks like a brand new home). The work is beautifully done, the team is talented, efficient and thorough (and listens to my needs). They are also so very friendly and respectful. They helped me when my AC unit broke on one of the hottest days of the year (and got someone to me same day!).
