i have used randy for years and his dad never had a problem the last lawn mower used works great

Dropped it off for diagnosis/repair mid-March. Mid-June still had not heard from them. Had to threaten to just come pick it up to get them to commit to taking a look at it, which they did the next week, but they never called me to tell me the results. 3 weeks later, I called aagain and finally got an estimate, but I decided to just pick it up and eat the $49 estimate fee, since they had to order parts. No telling when it would be fixed. Having had open heart surgury in Feb, it's been a burden to have to weed wack my yard this Spring and Summer. I was hoping to have my self-propelled mover back to make my life a little easier. Just didn't happen. I live over an hour away. I won't be back. read more

I'd give them zero if I could. I own a Ryobi mower, just over 1 year old and the self propelled stopped working. Called Randy's (only Ryobi dealer) in April, "sorry, we're moving, won't be open until May 1st". April 30th I called, was told "we've been open a couple weeks". Nice to know when you have a broken lawn mower in South Carolina in the spring! Took it on the 30th, was told 4-6 weeks. Today makes SEVEN weeks and it still has not been looked at. I am having to mow my grass at least twice a week due to all of the rain we've had. Having to borrow a lawn mower, go pick it up, and return it is getting quite old. Stay away from Ryobi, I was told they have 90 days for warranty work. This place may take the whole 90 days. read more

Brought my pressure washer in for service. I had to call every couple of weeks to get an update. After months I got a call saying the engine was siezed up after they put in a new carburetor. They offered to put in a new engine which I declined After I paid the bill I asked them to return the hose and gun as this was a long hose I need to be able to reach work. The staff checked the yard and did an extensive search of the shop. They did not find it. I called on Monday morning and was informed my washer had not been repaired. When I told them I already paid for the repair and told them I wanted the hose and gun returned, I was told they found the washer and hose in the shop. They gave me a hose but it was not the hose I left with the washer. It was a piece of junk. Very shady operation. Would not recommend them for any small engine work. read more

I brought my lawnmower in for service as it is under warranty. I had to pay a $25 fee for them to diagnose it. Within a matter of hours, I was called with the results of their findings and of course, it wasn't covered by the warranty so I had to pay. It was $112. I came back to pick up the mower two days later after dropping it off and brought it home and it ran only for my front yard and a little of my backyard and that was it. It kept giving me issues. I found my receipt from this place and I see that they offer no warranty for their work and no guarantees! I couldn't believe it. No WARRANTY! Not even 30 days? I was baffled. The staff was nice but due to its location and lack of warranty, I doubt I will come back here. read more

Randy's Small Engine Repair took my new Craftsman lawnmower in for diagnosis and repairs back in April 2025. Randy and his wife Kathy were friendly at first. Then, once Randy picked up my lawnmower from the house, all responses to my E-Mails stopped. They would not return my calls. Weeks turned to months. In June, I called the business and spoke with Kathy who said the issue involved a "battery and solenoid" and that repairs would take 1-2 weeks. Then, Amanda said the same thing when I called two weeks later and tried to reorder the battery Kathy ordered. Well, 1-2 weeks eventually turned into a few more months again. They both said my machine was being moved to the top of the repair list. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The business ignored this complaint to date. This BBB complaint was filed weeks ago. It's now August and still no voluntary updates from the business concerning my 4,000 dollar 2024 Craftsman Lawnmower. If I am lucky enough to get through by phone, I am sure they will just lie to me again and act smug. To further fuel my disappointment, Randy keeps the new Bobcat mowers he sells for up to 10,000 dollars in his building. My new lawnmower is being left out in the South Carolina sun to rot in 100 degree temperatures along with many others. If I do get my lawnmower back, I have serious doubts it will work for long. read more

Excellent customer service. Great advice and very knowledgeable about importance and use of warranty services. Took my Ryobi self-propelled mower in for trouble shooting and repair. It was covered under extended warranty. Took a little longer for work to be completed, as this business is the only certified Ryobi repair shop in three states, so they were a little backed up. However, they kept me informed and notified me that neither they nor the manufacturer could figure out what the problem was with the mower, so they replaced it with a brand new updated model at no charge. Very friendly and professional employees at the front desk receiving area, as well as in the rear service area. read more

Great friendly family business! Great value and no problems delivering zero turn to my home. I have also had my oil changed there on my mower. I would suggest them to anyone. I love doing business with local business owners and have not been disappointed with them. read more

I've never felt so ripped off ! I took my weedeater in for repair on 7-16-21 and never received a call until 8-3-21 when they told me that they were going to put a new carbuator on it and the bill would be $152. I told them that the weedeater didn't cost that much when I bought it and told them I would come and pick it up. When I got there they told me the bill would be $88. I had already paid a $25 diagnostic fee so it cost me $113 to pick up a weedeater that still didn't work. NEVER EVER take anything to this place ! read more

I took my lawnmower in back in August to have it repaired, I had to pay a $25.00 diagnostic fee. It took 30 days before my lawnmower was even repaired (or paritally repaired) I was told my lawnmower would be too costly to fix. So, I was offered another one of their lawnmowers (which would not come with a warranty) I was sent a letter in the mail, stating I owe over $414 for my mower (that is not fixed) I owe 59 days of storage fees, when the lawnmower was not even worked on for 30 days...But I am being charged these excessive fees. Then I was told I got the letter, because my phone number was disconnected (my phone is not disconnected, nor has it been) I tried to call the Manager today, I was told I need to see him "in person". I am very disappointed on how I was treated as a customer. I definitely will not use this company again, very rude customer service. read more

Dropped my pole saw off in december. Told them it needs a recoil. They proceed to charge me $25 inspection fee. They didnt get the part until mid january. They put the recoil in and now they saying it needs a carboughrator and i would have to pay it. A month ago there was no issue with carbs. If you can at all help it do not go here. They do not care they just want money. Reading the reviews it happens often. They manage to mess up warranty equipment and they dont have a warranty on them fixing it so when they tear something up they have the little girl at the front desk call and talk to you like you crazy. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. read more

I dropped off a mower within the companies 2 yr. warranty (the company sent me to them) and paid a 25.00 drop off fee (does not get applied to the total cost). I then got a call back and was simply told "it's done - pick it up". Upon my arrival I was told to my surprise that it would be 118- that the work was NOT covered under the warranty. I asked why this was not mentioned when they called and talked to me. The car dealership (for warranty work) or Firestone and Pep Boys even Grease Monkey seeks approval before they do the work they think is needed and the rate they want to charge for this work...It's an industry standard. They would not hear my concern about their phone call, service and these charges... I could have went a picked up a cheap new mower for a LITTLE more money. Then when I just wanted to get outta there and presented payment when they handed me back the receipt I was charged more (122-). Turns out they don't take checks, and didn't let me know to bring cash for payment due to my not knowing anything about an amount due...so I had to use a debit card and they charged me for using a with their bank. WOW.... they also show on the paperwork that no parts were needed for this repair. Don't go to this "service" shop for your small engine repair, but maybe do go by and check out all the signs they have in their lobby and the head counter person. I should have known to turn and run when I saw their lobby/front window set up... I wouldn't even TRY to treat a customers this way in my business!!! read more
