Usually this isn't a problem and they just rescan my ID, verify it and I move on but tonight after it failed to scan only ONE time, the employee refused to sale to me and refused to even try scanning it again after I'd just waited through the whole line and told me that I'd have to leave. Will never be stopping here again. Do yourself a favor and go one exit down to Sheetz. They are open 24 hours as well, have working scanners, and employees who actually know what they are doing!

Along with 85, there's a sign for this Shell at I-40 exit 261 (Old NC Highway 86 - Hillsborough). From I-40 exit 261, this Shell is about 1.5 miles (three minutes) away. I'm not too familiar with this area (at least not yet). The only reason why I think this Shell is known as the Daniel Boone Shell is because there's a giant statue of Daniel Boone behind it (as well as a Waffle House). After I filled up, I drove to the back specifically to take a picture of the statue. There was a sign underneath the statue that said "The Shops at Daniel Boone." It looked like a ghost town back there. Eerily dead. The time of day (night) didn't help. Anyway, this was your standard Shell station. Eight pumps, all on one side (street side) with the convenience store in the back, near Daniel Boone. This station has service bays, but the service center was closed during my visit. The station was bright and clean, stocked with paper towels and washer fluid, and also well-worn. The gas prices were expensive, but I used the app GetUpside to get 17 cents per gallon back. Use my invite code DANIEL66482 to get an additional 15 cents per gallon back the first time you use the app to save on gas. There's no catch. I don't know how the app developers make money, but it's free money back to people who buy gas at Shell and other participating gas stations like BP and Circle K. "Daniel Boone Shell" is what printed on top of my receipt. The receipt printed out nice and clear. I'd come back, if anything, to see what becomes of the creepy ghost town.

I don't know why that woman would do that. we live right down the road and we go in there all the time. did she really think we wouldn't catch it. I went through their car wash about 6-7 weeks ago and it malfunctioned and it drug it's arms across my hood. The woman working inside had to come and hold them up so I could back out. I tried to contact their manager David Smudski and he wouldn't return my calls till I tracked down his cell number. Since then he has been dragging his feet and putting me off hoping I would drop it. I saw on a review on google that a girl had the exact same experience Finally today he calls and said they would give me HALF the price of the repair. I'm flabbergasted! Just want my neighbors to know that this is how they treat their community. Buy your gas elsewhere!
