My son's car had a radiator issue and we initially got it diagnosed it a Firestone. The diagnosis alone was $137, and the total amount for the work to fix a cracked radiator connection was going to be roughly $730. I called Pep Boys and they were $670, I called the dealership and they were the absolute worst at $1200, and I called Chapel Hill Tire and they were gonna be in the $700 range as well. The total cost for East Franklin was $487. That might not sound like a huge difference but they were the most honest and real. EVERY single other place said that you had to do a "radiator flush" alongside the repair for ~$130-150, but that just means they empty old fluid and fill it up with fresh fluid. East Franklin car center was direct and they said you don't need that because whenever you fix the radiator if it dumps out all the fluid so there's no extra charge it's just part of putting it all back together to put in new fluid. I was actually shocked that there was such a gap between every other traditional car care place and East Franklin. Even though (because they're so busy) you normally have to schedule your repair a couple of days in advance, I would not even think to go to any one of those others ever again, ever, after this experience. And simple story too is that you really have to call around because there are a lot of arbitrary charges that just get thrown into the mix that you don't need to pay to get something fixed!

Note: On this concurrency (overlapped stretch) of I-40 and I-85 in North Carolina, the I-85 exit numbers prevail. Those exits are 131-163. The gas station is spacious with 20 pumps and the convenience store features both a Cinnabon inside and a McDonald's restaurant attached. Not bad. There's plenty of parking. However this place is souring on me because the overall operation and employee conduct is terrible. Their pumps regularly run out of paper for receipts; I've had to go inside several times over the past two years to ask for a receipt. The employees also leave something to be desired. On previous visits, I've had 1) an employee tell me he couldn't print a receipt and then said he was joking, 2) an employee greet me with "Hola!" to which another replied "He's not a Mex" (I'm Asian by the way), and 3) during COVID, one employee had her mask down completely around her neck and another employee dropped something and exclaimed "Sh_t, Mother____!" with customers in the store.

Who even creates a business name that begins with a lower case letter? You know, it doesn't cost extra to Capitalize! Most of staff who was there before this switcharoo is gone and have been replaced with mostly surly ones. And I do mean surly. For the one or two that might be there who are hospitable, I don't know how they manage to work with the grumpy ones who's eyes shoot daggers at them and the customers. WTH? At least they got a new drink machine and brought the corn dogs back, which are fine. Everything on the hot dog roller always looks way beyond its cook time and bordering on burnt or shriveled up. I would avoid the pizza at all costs. I got a slice that was fresh out of the conveyor oven and it was burnt on the bottom, hard crust that could cause a trip to the dentist, and everything on top was all dried up. The only bonus was the pepperoni was cooked to a point of being a hard disk that had lost all its grease. I'm not a fan of pepperoni because it gets so greasy when it cooks and leaves pools of it on the cheese, but it was the only way I could get a slice with sausage, which is no winner either, btw. I want Hunt Brothers pizza back, which I had nicknamed Jesus pizza because of the bible verse on the back of the box. At least it was edible and actually pretty good. Suffice to say "refuel" had had a serious negative effect on this place. I've tried the pizza now on three occasions btw, and it gets worse every time.
