Let me start by saying that most people don't want to call a plumber, including myself. We recently…read moreended up in a situation with a severely clogged drain in the basement. My wife and I tried whatever we could do to unclog it, and just couldn't figure out why. We ended up calling around and trying to get general estimates. Depending on the task at hand, Bruce gave us the most reasonable quote and we decided to go with him. He was very responsive online and available the same day. Some of the plumbers had given us dates that were well into the following week, and almost twice the price. When Bruce arrived, he made sure he kept the work area clean, worked on our sink, and after we found out that the job needed was worse than we had initially thought, he encouraged me to look around in case I didn't want to go with him. The new project included sawing off the existing galvanized pipe to the laundry sink, which was severely clogged with corrosion and sediments, and having it replaced with PVC pipe she is replacement. We decided to go with him for the new job and he completed it quickly, with quality products, and at a very reasonable rate. Untrustworthy is one word to describe Nick Davis. The second is Unprofessional. A mutual friend had…read morerecommended Nick through a FB inquiry I put out on my page. We had Nick and his wife look at a large remodel project for our home. After spending about an hour of in-depth review of the work, Nick agreed he could do the work but could not start immediately. He said he could do the work in a month and gave us a projected start date for the week of March 10th. We felt comfortable with Nick because he was a small hometown contractor, so with a handshake and smile we agreed that we wanted to go with him to do the work. Big Mistake! Like small town people do, we accepted his word. I've had no issues with this in the past when securing other work in our small town. So, we didn't think anything of it. His partner even thanked the mutual friend for the reference, so I had no reason to believe he would not follow through. We called the other contractors that had came out to let them know we decided to go with someone else (because that is the proper, polite, and professional thing to do). Once the start date got close, we hadn't heard anything, so we contacted Nick several time and Nothing. Over and over no returned calls or texts. So, two weeks later our mutual friend tags us in a post on FB where Nick is advertising, he has openings. I contact him to say WTF. I also posted on his post how he blew us off. He subsequently removes the post and re-post so that there are none of my comments. However, I commented again, and left a message that he needs to contact me to please explain why he ghosted us or else I would continue to comment on his FB posts. I then texted him stating a simple courtesy call could have saved this from happening, and customers needed to know that he was not a man of his word. His response "Whatever lady I never even wrote a contract for your job. I don't need you or your job do whatever you feel you need to do" I have the text. Nick was not wrong; we did not have a contract. I will give him that! So, I once again stated that he gave us his word and a simple explanation or when given the chance to apologize would have cleared the situation up. He then threatened us with his lawyer because I posted on FB he was scam and the screenshots of his whatever lady comment. I told him I did not threaten him just stated facts and said goodbye. After a few exchanges (all of which I have) He proceeded then to call us scumbags. NO, I absolutely do not recommend Nick Davis construction. If you go with him, do not trust what he says. Get it in writing. And be prepared for unprofessionalism if you have issues with him or his work. Jennifer Henry
