WARNING: This review is based on customer service and not the actual venue. So I saw this venue on Wedding Spot and was so in awe, I looked up all the info on it immediately. After, I tried to get in contact with someone to help me answer a few questions and got an employee (or maybe she's the owner, idk) named Kylee and she was friendly at first and we were going back and forth in the messages until I pointed out a few discrepancies I noticed. I read from a past customers' review that they let you do outside catering for a fee on Fridays and then did more research and found a supporting document (an official FAQ with the Rancho Las Lomas logo on it) to back it up. Then in the initial email she had sent, she said Friday and Sunday events get discounts (my wedding will be on a Friday so this excited me) then went back and said there is no discount for my wedding day. Lastly, the FAQ mentioned valet parking provided by the venue that you had to pay an additional fee for...which I was ok with but then she said you have to contact an outside parking service for that and they DON'T actually provide it. I would've been okay with just being wrong and her correcting me but they posted a false document on the internet which misled me then she went back on something she said without an explanation as to why MY event wouldn't get a discount when she just said Fridays are eligible for discounts. Also, I really didn't appreciate how the representative completely stopped emailing me once I called her out on it. I know she purposely did that because it was early in the day and before I mentioned anything conflicting, she was replying very quickly. And its her job to contact people showing interest in the venue so what else was there to do? I'm sure they have multiple employees that can lead tours and such. Idk, maybe I'm being overdramatic but just the way my interaction with the employee went today left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Hi to all the beautiful brides considering this venue for your big day. I want to share my experience and offer some tips. One year ago, we had our wedding here during Hurricane Hillary. Despite the county declaring a state of emergency, the venue refused to let us change the date, stating that "changing the date is not an option." The main reason we chose this venue was for the ability to host our reception, ceremony, and cocktail hour in different areas. However, due to the weather, we were forced to hold everything inside the small, old building typically used for cocktail hour. The venue suggested this as the only option, which was unrealistic for our guest count. We ended up renting a tent for $14,000 to use the garden area, but the uneven ground caused water to pool, which soaked our guests and added to the chaos. Despite our efforts, the situation was far from ideal, and it made an already difficult day even worse. If you're considering this venue, keep in mind that if it rains, you'll likely have to host every part of your wedding in that old building, as the venue is not flexible or cooperative. I truly hope no one else has to experience the disappointment we did, so just be aware and plan accordingly. read more

May of 2008 was one of the most special times in my life... I married my best friend in front of my family and friends at one of the most beautiful and unique venues - Rancho Las Lomas. Rancho is a celebration of natural beauty and timelessness and is simply breathtaking. I knew the second I got engaged that there was no other place I'd rather be when I exchanged my own vows. Every guest who walks on the Rancho property immediately falls in love with the detail, character and one-of-a-kind atmosphere that allows each wedding or event to have its very own special touch. I wanted my guests to fill this when they arrived at our wedding. Planning our wedding was one of the most exciting times for me and I could not imagine planning it anywhere else. I loved that we had the property to ourselves for the day and we could plan a unique setting for our special day. Nearly two years after our wedding, I still get butterflies of excitement when I hear people talk about how amazing our wedding was. People are still raving about the food and service from 24 Carrots and the after hour treats that we served. So, apparently any business on Yelp can can get a bad review removed. I received an email saying my review wasn't relevant to this business. Let's see I went there for a wedding and I mentioned how the wedding was very nice. They have animals on the property which is open for Guests to walk around and view. As a guest I thought the tiger enclosure was too small and sad, it is quite apparent that they have this animals and the others to enhance their wedding business. If you are going to use animals to sell your event space then maybe your tiger enclosure should actually be big enough for it to actually run? This place requires appointments only. When I called the girl that answered was extremely nice and detailed about the important things which I appreciate so there's no surprises. She told me valet is $6 bucks cause I don't always carry cash ! Glad to be told ahead. Customer service on phone was friendly and great so i figure the bar will be nice too. I went in and really liked the way the place looks. It was creative and fun. I thought it was pretty chill. It was a hot day so getting a seat inside helps. Great beers and the bartender was super chill and cool. Everyone seemed nice and I'm big on customer service . A+ in every aspect. I appreciate all the good customer service and the fact I could look around after at the cool animals they had. They have some exotic animals. Il be back for sure. ***ANIMAL ABUSE*** Rancho Las Lomas has a beautiful white tiger named Lilly that lives there. She is in a teenie tiny very small cage. She's been there for well over a decade. The property is massive. They have many areas for entertainment for lavish parties. They host multiple parties in the same day, bringing in a LOT of money for the owners. The owners live lavish lives and travel all over the world. While the poor tiger sits in her cramped tiny prison living a sad, miserable life. Abusive! Do not give your money to these greedy people! Set Lilly free. They actually had the nerve to ask for donations during the Corona Virus quarantine to help offset costs. How about not traveling all over the world? How about focusing on giving Lilly a better life in a sanctuary where she can roam and not be in a small prison? Selfish, greedy, disgusting. read more

I absolutely love this place. My daughter and I just went to the Animal Story time and it was the most adorable precious event. If you have never been to Ranchos Las Lomas, I highly recommend checking out their special events because they truly do host events that appeal to everyone. During the summer they host awesome beer & wine events that are so fun to come to with friends family or just your hunny! When you arrive there you feel like you have been transported to some gorgeous european hillside plantation and the people there to greet you are just the sweetest. Looked this gem up online and its beautiful. I learned the history and enjoy treasures like this. This is a huge place. I went to the tasting and enjoyed it so much . Service was lovely. Very helpful the whole time and very polite loved the bartender . I enjoyed it so much I later called about events there. I went through a few girls and I think they all started with a c or k name. They all were informative and sweet. I really want to be able to come back when my mom flies down and show her around. I'm thinking a zoo tour and a birthday are in order. I was recently at a wedding on January 24, 2015, where I was part of the bridal party. Rancho Las Lomas, totally ripped off the bride and groom, and ruined their wedding! Rancho Las Lomas are now, contacting Yelp, and telling them, that people who are writing reviews were not at the wedding! This is totally unethical. Yelp is not suppose to take money or kick backs from businesses, but it looks like this may be the case. Yelp needs to rectify this immediately, or will be reported to the better business bureau, along with Rancho Las Lomas! read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the gates at Rancho Las Lomas. There is peaceful, serene feeling about the grounds. The staff is more than accommodating; making sure to take care of every need and graciously answer every question. The animals are beautiful, appreciated and very loved. On the many occasions I have been to this tranquil paradise, I have yet to find a flaw....Brandon H. is always enthusiastic with knowledge and ready to give all that enter a tour. I've had a couple of friends get married here and I had a chance to visit a few times! Brandon was an excellent host along with the rest of his staff as well. Beautiful surroundings in South O.C. along with a few magnificent exotic animals on the premises as well. Kid-friendly, family environment which is a great little getaway if you want to get away without going too far. I went to visit this venue as a possibility for my daughter's up coming wedding. Oh my goodness. The place smells from animal poo! The buildings, and grounds look old, and in need of repair. I tried talking to the staff, but, there was no one there to help me. There was some young guy, who was constantly talking on the phone. I tried calling a couple of days later to make an appointment, and no one called me back! This place is a wedding venue?? I am amazed they can stay in business! read more

Where do I begin! Rancho Las Lomas is a pretty Venue, but the staff there sucks! You can never get a straight answer from anyone, and they don't return your calls promptly. When they do answer your questions, they talk down to you, and charge you from everything, to the napkins, to the leaves on the trees, ( ha, ha, maybe a little exagerated, but not by much) This place is a rip off for any bride and groom! We loved this venue as soon as we visited, and we're glad we chose it for our wedding. Everyone is very professional, 24 Carrots is great. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who is thinking about it. We had a night ceremony, and everyone commented on how beautiful our wedding was. The entire atmosphere is amazing. This place is crazy. pretty much out in the middle of no where, in the hills. You may come across this place. Stop in if they are open and check out the grounds and the zoo. They have a couple white tigers!! The lady there told me they do a lot of weddings here. Seems like a pretty sweet place for that. read more

Gorgeous location, incredibly friendly staff...but the limping white tiger made me really sad. Keeping such an animal in a cage is wrong, but failing to care for them properly is unacceptable, and ought to be criminal. Please do better. read more
