This is a very unique and beautiful hidden gem for an intimate wedding (accommodates up to 150 guests) that includes spaces for ceremony, reception, cocktail hour, and getting ready. You have to essentially rent or bring everything (including bathroom trailer) but that means you have a lot of flexibilities to customize what you like/ want. The owners Laurie and Laurie Ellen (and their in-house day-of planner Katie) are so sweet and helpful in making the planning process and our wedding day as stress free as possible. It allowed our guests to explore the grounds, enjoy the different spaces, and truly experience everything Rancho Las Lomas has to offer. It made the entire evening feel intimate, relaxed, and unforgettable. We had a traditional Persian wedding with many moving parts, and everything unfolded exactly as planned. The staff was organized, professional, and incredibly kind--not only to us but to every one of our guests. They kept everything running seamlessly behind the scenes, allowing us to be fully present and enjoy every moment without worrying about logistics. The food was phenomenal and received countless compliments. We chose a buffet with salmon, roasted tri-tip, potato dauphinoise, roasted carrots, beet salad, and kale salad, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. During cocktail hour, our guests loved the braised short rib crostini, compressed watermelon, ahi tuna poke, and olive tapenade crostini. We also opted for the premium beer and wine package along with two signature cocktails--an Aperol Spritz and a cucumber lime margarita--which were a huge hit throughout the evening. Our wedding day truly felt effortless because of the Rancho Las Lomas team. Came here today on a whim after visiting the Modjeska House just down the street from this place…read more The gift shop was open and we ended up buying some soap, 2 finger puppets for the kids, and a ENC tucker magnet. The gift shop was a museum too and had lots of interactive exhibits for the kids. We saw live snakes and frogs on display as well. Across the street from the gift shop was the actual sanctuary which is a 0.25 mile loop - you can finish it within 10-15 minutes if you want fast. An amphitheater and bird viewing area is in there as well. The creek was dry when we went but did see a small pond with lots of tadpoles. Also be aware of rattlesnakes as we heard they come out in the summer time. Trail was 80% shaded so was not so hot. Found out that TUCKER was acquired by ENC of Newport Beach in 2022 so you'll see lots of ENC gear in the gift shop. There are essentially 2 ENC locations now - one here and one in Newport Beach. Pretty interesting!

Communication leading up to our wedding was consistently poor. Emails and messages often went unanswered for days, which created a lot of unnecessary anxiety during an already stressful time. During our final walkthrough, Ciara reassured us that we would not be rushed to remove our belongings after the wedding and could even return Monday or Tuesday. She specifically shared that she had been rushed after her own wedding at this venue and did not want to do that to us. Unfortunately, the day after our wedding, that is exactly what happened. Our vendor arrived during the 12-2 p.m. pickup window we were given, only to find the venue locked. After multiple unanswered calls and texts, Ciara arrived nearly an hour later, resulting in our vendor charging us for the wait. At that same time, we were suddenly told all of our belongings needed to be removed that day, giving us essentially an hour to figure it out; completely contradicting what we had been told during our final walkthrough. Our wedding itself was wonderful, but the lack of communication and follow-through caused so much unnecessary stress before and immediately after it. As beautiful as the space is, based on our experience with management, we would not host another event here or recommend it to friends or family.

When we entered the space, it felt like an open layout house. Fairly modern design. Useful space. Two restrooms for guests. There was a small connecting area with a fridge for storage. The next room over was perfect for a small play bouncer. No kitchen area. The catering company all had to set up outside in the already limited parking lot area. The pavement was in ruin. Rote memorization seems to be what this organization seems to try to foster rather than true learning skills. Locations served once included the Upper Newport Bay Area. This may have been discontinued. Chaparral areas of South Orange County area are used, with participants asked to handle and identify flora and fauna. Fun? Perhaps.,Educational? Hmmm.

I enjoyed the experience here as you were set on your own to build their needed structures on your own with minimal assistance from the naturalists / staff. Inside the Outdoors provide and instruct K-6th graders with hands-on and social science during their field trips to the facility. The kids will learn about the local plants and wildlife. What if we could introduce children to the wildlife that we share the Earth with... What if we could share with a child the wonder of seeing a bug through a microscope... What if we could protect and preserve a wilderness area, so that children could visit the area to learn how important these places are... What if we could help every child in Southern California explore nature and learn about the environment... Well, when my day ended helping the naturalists and all future kids that will visit this site, made me feel good and I helped the future.
