Any age would be welcome here. The food for me was mixed. Nothing bad or not fresh. The tortilla chips were thin and excellent. Not overly salty and strong enough to scoop goodly amounts of the tasty cheese dip. Sadly the cheese dip was barely above room temperature which was disappointing. The "bang bang shrimp" had no bang. They were alright as fried shrimp but no spice. The shrimp sauce was essentially mayonnaise. And again lukewarm at best. The two different sandwiches we had were both well stuffed. Among other things we tried both types of chorizo sausage they offered. Neither was what I expected. The French fries were very good. Let me tell y'all something... I've driven past this spot so many times knowing it was a Hispanic/Latin restaurant, but never actually stopped in because I didn't really understand the menu. Today, I finally gave it a shot--and I'm so glad I did. Everything we ordered was AMAZING. The food? Incredible. The atmosphere? Warm and welcoming. Our server was fast, funny, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. Even the manager came out to check on us, which says a lot. This place is seriously a hidden gem. We were trying to find a brunch spot on Labor Day, and of course, most places were closed. A lot of places in Easton were busy, and this was the next closest as appetizing place we found on Yelp. Not sure why I hadn't noticed it since I had previously been next door at the titling office. It's a bit nondescript even though there is signage. The area is just kinda drab. Parking is easy since it's a big lot that shares with a few other businesses. Anywho, we walked in to see a few Latino(a) families dining in. A good sign that this spot might be fairly authentic regarding Salvadorian food! It's a large space with a good amount of tables and tons of TVs. Seems like a nice place to hang. I ordered their version of a horchata while my friend sipped on hot coffee. The horchata was interesting. Nutty and a bit thicker. It's made with completely different ingredients than a Mexican horchata, but still equally delicious! We both ordered the Salvadorian breakfast that came with eggs, sour cream, queso fresco, salsa, plantains, and refried beans. Also, we both added chorizo entero (sausage links) to the meal. And it also came with 2 tortillas. Or rather the same consistency of pupusas. Yum!! I was really full. A wonderful meal indeed! I ordered 2 pupusas to go. One was chicken and beans, the other was beans and loroco (a type of green vegetable). Wow! Phenomenal! I saw a lot of people ordering the whole chicken. Might be something to try next time! I learned today that I've been sleeping on Ranchero Kitchen. It's unassuming from the outside, especially given that it's nestled in between the BMV and Auto Titling offices. The interior is pretty spacious and has an upscale feel to it, and our server was friendly and attentive. But of course, you want to know about the food. I'm Mexican American, so any breakfast involving refried beans, queso fresco and eggs is comfort food for me. I happily ordered the breakfast combo because it came with all of those, plus fried plantains. I never ate plantains growing up, but it's one of my favorite things about Central and South American cuisine. And that sour cream? Delicious and rich. I also ordered a side of rice and tortillas. The rice was so delicious--just flavored enough to have some body of its own and it paired well with everything. The tortillas were corn based and a little thicker than I'm used to, but I liked them and appreciated that they were handmade. And to top it all off, I ordered a glass of horchata. It had a nutty but not unwelcome taste that I didn't expect--I only learned later that it did contain seeds and nuts. Delicious, but something to be aware of if you have nut allergies. My husband ordered the pan con pollo, which he said was excellent. He also ordered a side of fries-which I stole several of and also thought were great. we visited early Friday evening of July 13 and LOVED it! great service , good food that's different from usual Columbus offerings, and great atmosphere. I loved the pupusas with horchata to drink, and a side of Yuca frita: savory, well-made (the slaw/relish served as a side with the pupusas has a spicey kick that can ambush you, so go carefully with it; it might just be my low tolerance for heat, though), and very filling. Don't be fooled by the size; the pupasas are very filling and I couldn't finish mine, despite wanting to keep eating. the mark of good food: you want to keep eating even though you're full! give this place a try! it's between the BMV and License/Title agency on Morse, but don't be put off by the strip-mall location. Ranchero has a great, relaxed vibe, good for meeting with friends and kicking back with good food. Note: this is a duplicate review by accident. Somehow I ended up with a second yelp account. It's tucked away on bethel next to the tile shop and the BMV so I didn't know about it earlier and that kills me Service is lovely from everyone working there, the ambiance inside is really relaxed and open, feels like a family oriented place but also somewhere friends can just go to chill as well -- well balanced! Wow! I was blown away by how delicious this food tasted. I've been wanting to go to an authentic Hispanic restaurant for a while now (Sorry, El Vaquero can only do so much). I ordered a chicken & bean and chicken & cheese papusa, and two tacos - chicken and shrimp. The papusas were incredibly yummy. I tried the cheese one first and absolutely loved it. They came with some sort of pickled slaw, which sounded odd, but was actually really good! I liked eating that even by itself. The tacos were equally as good. The chicken had that slight burn taste from the grill and it added lots of flavor. I was very pleased with the quality of food! The waitress was very sweet. I was in the area waiting for my sister to take her driving test and it was hot so we wanted to go in and use their restroom but it's for customers only so I figured why not see what's on the menu. I was greeted by a very friendly young lady. The menu has some really good options and it's not overwhelming with a ton of combinations. The deluxe burrito jumped out at me but I'm always unsure what meat to get due to lack of seasonings. I asked the server which was her favorite meat and she said chicken which was my last pick. I also love chorizo but not if it's too spicy. She let me know I can actually get 2 meats so that's just what I did. My food comes out and it looks amazing. Tonight after our ESL class, two of our students, originally from El Salvador, wanted to take my wife and me to Ranchero Kitchen for a celebratory meal as we begin our Christmas vacation. The restaurant is Salvadoran and delivers a beautiful atmosphere; decor, wall hangings, and the beautiful, "República de El Salvador en la América Central" (The Coat of Arms of El Salvador). We were greeted warmly by the hostess as we entered and taken to a large, comfortable table for the four of us. A huge, colorful, decorated Christmas tree pulled our focus immediately and we could feel the warmth of the big wood fireplace that complimented the friendly service we received from each of our servers. The menu was quite large, beautiful, and very inviting. My attention was immediately drawn to the Pupusas. It was just a question of how many of these thick, oval, delicious pieces of flatbread I wanted. I chose to have two of them, but could easily have eaten more of these familiar, grilled, corn cakes filled with cheese, chicharrón, and refried beans. This delightful entrée was served with the accompanying Curtido, a lightly fermented slaw of cabbage, carrots, and onions and likely oregano. My wife chose to get the Burrito Supreme that was overflowing with whole-grained rice and beans, although she said it was a little light on the steak that should have been present. We both ordered our favorite Latino cold beverage; Horchata which is an iced rice-milk mixture with vanilla and cinnamon. But, I detected the faint taste of some kind of nutty flavor in my drink. I asked our hos y about it on the way out and she confirmed that their Horchata is their own special blend, but did contain Tiger Nuts. Those weren't a familiar taste to me, I just remembered a delicious nut-flavor. It was really very good, though. We will be back to have more of this Salvadoran fare and encourage you to try it yourself. read more

I wasn't too incredibly hungry so I ordered 2 pupusas: chicken and pork. The chicken was phenomenal! Seasoned perfectly with the right amount of cheese. It was soft, with pockets of crunch here and there. Yum! While the pork was also good, I'd go for the chicken any day. Slaw and hot sauce came with them. Hot sauce was a cherry on top. The slaw was a tangy/vinegar sauce. I don't like tangy slaw in general, so I won't speak on it. The Horchata was pretty standard. Service was friendly and efficient. A woman came around and greeted me in both Spanish and English and genuinely asked about my meal. I appreciate the sincerity. That's why I love small businesses. The only thing I didn't care for was the temperature. It was frigid! I can't eat with a coat on so I shivered the whole time. The family across from me sat with wool hats and coats the entire time. A friend took us to this restaurant that is tucked beside the BMV on Morse Road. When I turned into the the parking lot I didn't see it at first! Ranchero Kitchen was a wonderful find! And the food was a new and tasty adventure for my mouth! The variety of food to choose from is great and the restaurant is made to look so homey! There is a fireplace and rocking chairs sitting in front of it. The Christmas tree is also set up in this area! The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions about the food choices on the menu! The sign outside says that it is a Latin food restaurant. All I know is that my dinner was wonderful! The kitchen area was visible as they prepared the food. It was a great experience and I didn't see anyone look unhappy with their food choices! The Ranchero Kitchen is definitely family friendly.
