    Salvadorian breakfast
    Saphace A.

We were trying to find a brunch spot on Labor Day, and of course, most places were closed. A lot of places in Easton were busy, and this was the next closest as appetizing place we found on Yelp. Not sure why I hadn't noticed it since I had previously been next door at the titling office. It's a bit nondescript even though there is signage. The area is just kinda drab. Parking is easy since it's a big lot that shares with a few other businesses. Anywho, we walked in to see a few Latino(a) families dining in. A good sign that this spot might be fairly authentic regarding Salvadorian food! It's a large space with a good amount of tables and tons of TVs. Seems like a nice place to hang. I ordered their version of a horchata while my friend sipped on hot coffee. The horchata was interesting. Nutty and a bit thicker. It's made with completely different ingredients than a Mexican horchata, but still equally delicious! We both ordered the Salvadorian breakfast that came with eggs, sour cream, queso fresco, salsa, plantains, and refried beans. Also, we both added chorizo entero (sausage links) to the meal. And it also came with 2 tortillas. Or rather the same consistency of pupusas. Yum!! I was really full. A wonderful meal indeed! I ordered 2 pupusas to go. One was chicken and beans, the other was beans and loroco (a type of green vegetable). Wow! Phenomenal! I saw a lot of people ordering the whole chicken. Might be something to try next time! Service was good. Staff was nice. They're pretty attentive to the tables regardless of how busy they are. Can't wait to come back!

I learned today that I've been sleeping on Ranchero Kitchen. It's unassuming from the outside, especially given that it's nestled in between the BMV and Auto Titling offices. The interior is pretty spacious and has an upscale feel to it, and our server was friendly and attentive. But of course, you want to know about the food. I'm Mexican American, so any breakfast involving refried beans, queso fresco and eggs is comfort food for me. I happily ordered the breakfast combo because it came with all of those, plus fried plantains. I never ate plantains growing up, but it's one of my favorite things about Central and South American cuisine. And that sour cream? Delicious and rich. I also ordered a side of rice and tortillas. The rice was so delicious--just flavored enough to have some body of its own and it paired well with everything. The tortillas were corn based and a little thicker than I'm used to, but I liked them and appreciated that they were handmade. And to top it all off, I ordered a glass of horchata. It had a nutty but not unwelcome taste that I didn't expect--I only learned later that it did contain seeds and nuts. Delicious, but something to be aware of if you have nut allergies. My husband ordered the pan con pollo, which he said was excellent. He also ordered a side of fries-which I stole several of and also thought were great. All in all, I'd say that this is a hidden gem and worth the visit.

Pupusas, with chicken, cheese and jalapeños. Side of fries and a 2oz side of very spicy salsa.

The pupusas were amazing. I got two filled with chicken, cheese and jalapeños. The very spicy salsa was delicious and worked great to dip both the pupusas and the fries. The service was pleasant and prompt.

This Salvadoran restaurant was quiet the place! It's I. The weirdest location but very good! I got the Torta Salvadorena and it was DELICIOUS! Very filling and the fries were on point. We also got pupusas to share, which are stuffed pita breads. The jalapeños and cheese pupusas was to die for. Whatever cheese they used was very good. The service was a little slow, but I would defiantly go back again.

Wow! I was blown away by how delicious this food tasted. I've been wanting to go to an authentic Hispanic restaurant for a while now (Sorry, El Vaquero can only do so much). This was the first place I've seen that offered pupusas and I was so excited!! There were several things on the menu that I wanted to try, so I'll definitely be returning. I ordered a chicken & bean and chicken & cheese papusa, and two tacos - chicken and shrimp. The papusas were incredibly yummy. I tried the cheese one first and absolutely loved it. They came with some sort of pickled slaw, which sounded odd, but was actually really good! I liked eating that even by itself. The tacos were equally as good. The chicken had that slight burn taste from the grill and it added lots of flavor. I was very pleased with the quality of food! The waitress was very sweet. She gave us plenty of time to decide on our orders after seeing us struggling to narrow it down. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's actually quite nice! I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for authentic Latin food. I can't wait to return!

Deluxe burrito with fries and salsa ranchero. Toppings that come with the burrito are rice beans sour cream and sautéed veggies

I was in the area waiting for my sister to take her driving test and it was hot so we wanted to go in and use their restroom but it's for customers only so I figured why not see what's on the menu. I was greeted by a very friendly young lady. The menu has some really good options and it's not overwhelming with a ton of combinations. The deluxe burrito jumped out at me but I'm always unsure what meat to get due to lack of seasonings. I asked the server which was her favorite meat and she said chicken which was my last pick. I also love chorizo but not if it's too spicy. She let me know I can actually get 2 meats so that's just what I did. My food comes out and it looks amazing. It came with hot and fresh french fries and some to die for salsa ranchero. I like that I got fries instead of the normal chips and salsa. The burrito was very fulfilling I could only eat half. I will definitely return if I'm on this side of town.

Salvadorian Breakfast*Delicious Very happy to find homemade pupusas, loroco flower & cheese, jalapeño & cheese and the pork are the three we tried; so good ! Their yuca frita with pickled veg & chicharrones was very delicious. We had the salvidorian breakfast with beans, plantain, chorizo, egg & homemade tortillas and the hen and vegetable soup, which was comforting, delicious and enormous, lol ! #salvadorianfood #asseenincolumbus #614eats #columbusfoodies #pupusas #supportsmallbusiness #supportlocal #yucafrita

It is next to a plasma place and what might be a market. If you're coming off Cleveland or 161, look for the car repair place and it is straight back from there. They said it's been here two years, but in the three months I've been a fairly regular visitor to the area I've never noticed it. Step inside, and it's nothing fancy, but with lots of comfy booths and tables. A drink cooler off to the side with Mexican Coke, etc. Small menu with the basics (I should have taken a picture of that.) Beef, shrimp, fried plantains, etc. Some breakfast items and pastries. I went with carne azada. Strips of beef, marinated and grilled, and probably the best I've had. Sided with a mix of rice and beans that was pretty good, pico de gallo, excellent guacamole, a roasted pepper, and perfect, hot and fresh corn tortillas. Wrap it all up or eat it individually, it's great either way. Great food, at a decent price, in a non-descript place. Service was stand-offish at first for someone clearly not a regular, but as I wolfed down the food and smiled, they warmed up. I'll be back.

Amazing food and I had no idea what my plate was called! This is a Salvadoran/Mexican restaurant…read moreand I must have looked at the menu for 10 minutes. Just as I was about to order the bartender walks by carrying 2 plates that looked incredible. All I could understand was "Chicken, it's good. You should try." What the heck. Let's do it. Out came the most colorful plate that I could only describe as the best smothered chicken I've ever had sitting on a bed of fried plantain slices and pickled onion. The tomato based sauce was so freaking flavorful and the chicken was so juicy it tasted like it was broasted. The plantains were as satisfying as the best French fries I ever had. That bed that the chicken was on was cabbage (I think), olive slices, pickled onion, beets and a few carrot slices, smothered in a red and Yum Yum looking sauce. I've never tried anything blind at a restaurant in my life and this was simply amazing. Paired it with a Victoria beer and honestly it was one of the best meals I've had in a while. Sorry no pics but I got lost in the experience. It happens sometimes. Everything came to about $30 and that's with 2 bottles of Victoria. I looked at the bill and the plate was called Pollo Con Tajadas!

I started off with a peach margarita. It was gone before any food arrived. . . The salsa is chunkyy and good flavor as if it was housemade.. I love plantains and so I ordered platanos con crema. It's $7.50 for a pretty poor execution of the plantains. Wasn't very pleasing to the eye either. But thanks goodness the entrees were different! The steak street tacos were juicy and had plenty of cilantro and onions. They have cucumbers, lime and sauteed onions to pair. The Bistec Salvadoreno also had a nice juicy steak in a red sauce with sauteed onions and peppers. The pinto beans paired nicely, not overly salted like a lot of beans usually be. I didn't like the rice it had little to no flavor.. but the Pico de Gallo was delish! Overall good experience and I'll be back to try some more margaritas, Oh and the pupusas!
