Thin crust, New Haven-style pizza is usually my jam, but I'd heard good things about this Motor City-inspired square pie. Hoo boy, I was not disappointed. The crust is sexy af--springy, chewy, crispy around the edges (I will fight you for the corner pieces). So far I've sampled the pepperoni, the Hawaiian (bacon lardons, fresh pineapple, pickled jalapeño rings) and the #4 (sausage, ricotta, Calabrian chilies) and I'm ready for more. Having lived through the horrors of spongy dominos dipped in bland, weirdly viscous ranch dressing, I looked askance at the sides of ranch. But this ranch is a genre defining addition to the entire experience--so much so I ordered a friggen tub so I could dip all manner of things in this delicious dressing. tl;dr--even if you like thin crust pizza, you should give this a shot. I was craving for pizza and been meaning to try Ranch Pizza! I'm so glad they opened up a location in Happy Valley. I ordered a Half & Half Pizza with the #4 and Veggie pizza with added sausage topping. It was delicious! The #4 has sausage, ricotta, basil, chili peppers, mozzarella, and red sauce. The Veggie pizza included mushrooms, red onion, basic, olives, Chili peppers, mozzarella, red sauce and I added sausage. I loved the pan pizza because it was thick and filling and the toppings were so good! The crust of the pizza was also perfectly toasted with the cheese. It was very unique and a first for with with a square shaped pizza. And in its name, I naturally had to order myself a large ranch even though it came with 2 sides of ranch. The ranch is house made and so flavorful. With no shame, I dipped every bite in the ranch. Nonetheless, Ranch Pizza is amazing! read more

Been going to Ranch pizza on Dekum st since I moved 2 yrs ago from SanDiego...me and my friend tried the happy valley location cause we were out in Damascus visiting my moms...got home and the pizza was greasy and flat...totally different from Dekum st. We brought it back and tried to explain why we wanted another pizza made but the cashier said that's how their food is made...Ranch pizza makes greasy slices with no amazing crust & w/out an reasonable amount of veggies on a veggie slice. Totally not true cause we frequently go to the dekum st. location and are accustomed to the complete opposite...thick airy crust...hella toppings...She didn't want to correct our bad pizza...she immediately tried to give us our money back...when we just wanted a better made pizza....When she handed me my new pizza she didn't apologize for the inconvenience...I guess cause we caused her the inconvenience. Great Pizza but DO NOT order through door dash. We ordered at 6:30 - it said it would be 60 minutes and we were okay with that. But it's now 9:08pm and just got a notification that it's been delayed until 9:30. It's been ready for the driver to pick up since 7:25. We contacted DoorDash around 8:15 and they said they wouldn't let it get delayed any further. Three delays later and here we are canceling our order, sending our guests home without food, and going to Taco Bell. If they provide alternative delivery services this will change to a 5 star. But for now- I have not experienced worst service. read more

We ordered delivery through Caviar and it was great! It was an easy online process. We were able to pay and leave a tip. I received text updates from Caviar that were accurate and helpful. We ordered a whole #4 and it was the bomb and enough for 4 adults along with a salad. We also ordered 2 quarters, one veggie and the other one Hawaiian. Both were good but the 4 was everyone's fav! The Ranch dressing is delicious and garlicky! We will order again! When this restaurant opened it had one of the best pizzas that we ever had. Tonight it was one of the worst. They don't put any cheese on it now apparently and not hardly any sauce. It's super thick so you definitely need these ingredients or it's just all bread. So bummed! read more

This is a brand new location that has teamed up with Tamale Boy and Valley Growlers in a large new building across from Happy Valley's city hall. There is also a new Whiskey Bar downstairs. We ordered slices of their veggie pizza and grabbed a beer at Valley Growlers and went out to sit on the deck with an order number to place on our table. Light breeze, cool but not cold temperatures, damp day, lunch time. The deck was nice and had firepits and heat lamps that kept us easily toasty. The light breeze was an issue because even a light gust kept blowing the order number off the table to the ground. Although open only an extremely short time, the pillows on our chair were already stained from previous diners. There is a variety of seating from tall tables, to regular height tables, to padded more outdoor sofa style chairs, the latter is where we sat. I did not notice any large gathering tables but I"m sure some could be pushed together to accommodate larger groups outside on the porch once we are not in the world of Coronavirus. Pizza came quickly. The sauce on it was good. However, it is extremely lightweight bread-style crust that was prebaked probably with not enough cheese already on it. We saw huge racks of the prebaked crust in the kitchen when ordering. Maybe a dusting put on to heat with our vegetables when they prepped our food but it was hard to tell. Immediately basil leaves started blowing off my pizza and husband lost vegetables dropped when he tried to bite. None of the toppings are affixed to the surface of the pizza in any way which makes for harzardous eating and easy losing of the toppings to the table or ground. I wish they had added a touch more cheese and husband wishes they had added a lot more cheese! Both of us were really disappointed in the crust. Only good part of it was where it's edge meats the baking pan and carmelizes a touch. Because this is a chain, I doubt anything will improve with the pizza. If it is your style of pizza, you'll probably be okay with it. I think the sauce makes or breaks it and I did like the spicing of the sauce on this. The quality of the toppings seemed fine. I would probably have it again but my husband would not. Happy Valley has a serious lack of interesting restaurants or even good ones so this place will probably do just fine and become a nice gathering local. The outdoor atmosphere was nice and more unique for our area. Inside it is cavernous and too dark for my personal taste. Valley Growlers has a big local following and will pull in the customers. We'll come back and check out the Tamale Boy next time. So I don't really give this a thumbs down, just not a solid thumbs up. Atmosphere counts for a lot and I hope it all succeeds. Perhaps one can ask for extra cheese? read more
