He had me turn on the zone and he walked the path of the sprinkler and found the real problem. A tree root had crushed the sprinkler line. He is like the sprinkler whisperer. Came back the next day and fixed both problem areas. Tamped the soil and replaced the sod. Can't even tell where he dug up the sod. Price was exactly as quoted. They turned on the water and made some small adjustments to the heads and noted that several of the pop-up heads were not rising and lowering smoothly. He informed us that we would have to oil the heads. In addition, they noted we have 7 zones and the 6th zone was not working. However, they could not locate the 6th zone and, therefore, we do not know where the 6th zone is and if that would impact our underground sprinkler system. I was disappointed in their service for the following reasons: 1. We have a Rainbird system and Mile-Hi specialized in Rainbird (according to their website) yet, they told us we would have to oil the heads. We are not sprinkler and irrigation specialists and would think that as part of their turn-on service they would ensure all heads were calibrated and properly functioning. 2. The fact that they could not identify Zone 6 makes me wonder if the technicians that were sent out have been properly trained to work on Rainbird or any sprinkler/irrigation system. It seems now that we have to find another Sprinkler/Irrigation company to finish the job.

When he fertilized my lawn, instead of applying fertilizer only to the grass, he drove the fertilizer spreader all over my new concrete walkways, leaving dozens of ugly rust stains everywhere. I have spent hundreds of dollars on power washing and other attempts to resolve it and such attempts have made the problem worse, so I now have rust + discoloration all over my walkways, which is a major eyesore. It will cost me many thousands of dollars to fix this problem that Dan caused, since I will need to rip out and reinstall 3 new concrete pathways and a giant patio. Dan's response was extremely disappointing, he did not take responsibility and there was 0 concern or effort to fix the problem. I would caution against using Dan if you want someone who is thoughtful and careful on your property. I hope this review will ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I was lucky to obtain an appointment as soon as I did. On the day of the appointment the technicians, Sasha and Derek, called to tell me they could come earlier than expected. That was great news. Sasha and Derek showed up, greeted my dog with kindness, he talks a lot, but he is friendly. They invited Max to say hello and made friends. So, if you have a dog, there are no worries. I showed and explained the problem and they said no problem. Sasha and Derek replaced the diaphragm on one circuit so fast I was absolutely amazed. Then there was a sprinkler head in the front yard that was leaking badly. They dug it up, replaced the head, and confidently replace the sod. They mad it look so easy I was almost ashamed that I had called. But I'm an older person with som physical limitations and the job would have taken me three days, at least. Sasha and Derek are the consummate professionals. It was like magic watching them work. I'll call them back in a heartbeat!

He was also very communicative about getting our project scheduled (BONUS: he was able to get us started sooner than originally planned). His crew is some of the nicest people too. My son was running a fever for the few days they were working on our yard and they asked about how he was doing each day (one gentleman even asked if he could pray over him which was so unexpected and nice). They are considerate of your space. At the end of each work day, they sweep up and consolidate their tools to one area so it doesn't feel like you're in a construction zone. The finished product is very polished and well done. When there were things I wanted adjusted or trimmed a little bit more, Josh was very agreeable and happy to oblige. And yes, I was that high maintenance client who had a request to add more flagstone AFTER they were done and they were so great to get a team out the next day to make that little addition. The estimate was well written and Joshua kept us up-to-date every day on the progress. We had old grass removed, and old cottonwood tree and roots removed, rocks cleaned and weed barrier replaced, bushes replaced, sprinklers replaced and metal edging added. The final product was better then we could have imagined. Denver Tree and Landscape is an outstanding business because of Joshua and his great team of employees. Weeks ago, we got it running by having our trustworthy regular sprinkler man replace the controller and troubleshoot a few sprinkler heads. To our surprise, it worked. That is, until we received several notifications from Aurora Water that we were using tremendous amounts of water. We got our regular guy back to the house, but he couldn't find any apparent leaks. He also couldn't find the second (backyard) valve box. It's a pretty big backyard. So, I started to trace the front yard valve box wire to the second valve box by digging it up. It quickly became apparent, it was the equivalent of finding the Titanic unless I wanted to spend days, perhaps weeks, searching for the elusive valve box. I contacted our regular guy again, who many of you know and appreciate, and he referred me to Irrigation Genies. They specialize in sprinkler systems of all types. They also specialize in complex sprinkler issues including locating lost valve boxes and leak detection. I emailed the company and Chris Cortez, the owner, sent back a message with a few possible underlying scenarios...and the various costs to fix them. I shared as much pertinent information that I could and scheduled an appointment date, yesterday, 7/25. Chris showed up on time and got right to work. It took about 45 minutes or so to locate the buried valve box with an electronic device. He noted each of the 3 backyard valves were ancient and 1 was broken, leaking. Chris spent about 6 hours in tremendously hot conditions, and replaced all 3 valves so we wouldn't revisit that problem any time soon. Chris was methodical, professional and friendly. Considering the amount of work he completed and the complexity of the problem, he absolutely nailed it. I cannot praise him enough. He worked in a stepwise manner, located the mysteriously hidden valve box, fixed the problem - and more - and did it with an A+ attitude. If you don't already have a sprinkler company, I highly recommend Irrigation Genies and Chris Cortez. Otherwise, if you have a complicated sprinkler problem, call him today. I am incredibly thankful and impressed by Chris, the work he performed, his manner, attitude and professionalism. I think you will be too!

In the beginning of June, I used the Request a Quote feature on Yelp to get our home irrigation system all set up. This is our first summer in the new house, and naturally repairs were necessary for the sprinkler system. Teague was responsive, professional, and very easy to work with. Though I had to shell out some $$ for parts, he was very transparent about what was needed and ended up giving me a slight discount on his labor and time. He turned on the water supply in the crawl space, installed new parts in the front of my house, set up the timers on the sprinkler system, and even installed a few new parts to make sure all zones of my front and backyards were being watered properly. Our grass was looking Rough with a capital R when he visited. And now our yard is thriving in the heat of summer. Thank you Teague for all your hard work and expertise!
