Scott Ramsey did a wonderful job tuning my Yamaha grand piano after we moved-- it just sounds great! I highly recommend him!!

I called to get piano picked up and stored with him. I was out of state. Two weeks went by. I text again, and he said he didn't remember talking to me. I had even text him pictures before. He followed up by text with "Hi sorry I'm a lazy guy...LOL I can do it Friday." When he came to get the piano, he wasn't able to get in. That was my bad. He was already there. I was out of the state. I had anticipated it being picked up weeks earlier. I told him we needed to reschedule and he said it was no problem. He came a few days later and picked it up. He text me saying he emailed the invoice with an extra trip charge and the first month charge. This was Friday after 6pm. I text him back, "Alrighty." I was out, not near a computer. I figured I would pay the extra charge which wasn't even discussed before getting the piano, and the first month on Monday. Business hours. After all I was out of state. He text me that Sunday, "Unsure why your invoice has not been paid yet? It is important to keep your account current now that we are in the storage portion of the contract because it does have late penalties that should be avoided. Well I had already paid for the pickup and three months of storage before he even picked the piano up. This is why I was waiting until Monday, this needed to be looked over, I needed to find the paperwork, check my bank transactions, ect. I text him that I wasn't aware of the extra pick up fee. His text back, "Hey no worries at all." Next text, "Forgive me please, I did three jobs including yours that day and one client paid before the work was done and the other client paid right at the job site I'm just kind of used to not waiting for payment unless we talk about it and of course it's no problem. Next text, "Your Storage is paid in full through October 1." So, those three texts in a row. I didn't even respond because I was shocked and concerned and most of all busy. It was the weekend. I thought we were good. He just mixed up customers. A few days goes by. He texts, "I really don't understand why you're not paying me for the wok that you asked me to do for you. It's not very friendly and I don't appreciate it." I apologized and told him to send me the bill. I hadn't gotten it, and since I thought he mixed up customers, I wasn't concerned. He text. "Great thank you so much." He text again, " I have it in my air-conditioned space on my property so it's not getting super heated and I'll send you an invoice once every three months and we're all set. Me: Ok. I paid the storage fee. I just owe you the time you went out and couldn't get in? Me: $175 for your time. That was me just making sure I was understanding everything correctly, since he was so mixed up before. His response: Let's keep this straight. You paid on June 17 $455. Balance remaining is 175 that was due on the day that I picked it up I don't know why you're trying to play games with us His Next Text: I'm sorry I'm just I'm used to having to beg for money what you're trying to say is you paid for the first trip and you owe for the second trip and that is correct. I apologized and sent it over within the hour. $175 for going to my house??? that in my mind was crazy. He stored it for about 6 months. He notified me that he was going out of business and I needed to get the piano. Of course I had to pay him to deliver it. I had it sent to my brother's house. He was unpleasant. I was picturing a young crack head guy, he was just old. I realize after the delivery that it wasn't even my bench. I want my bench back!!! He won't answer calls, texts, voice messages, FaceBook messages, ect. So if anyone knows how to get ahold of him, please let me know. I have had my piano and bench for 24 years since childhood. My beloved family piano made a cross town move safely and with no damage, I have no reason to suspect this company cannot competently complete a job. The poor review is due to an otherwise very unpleasant experience. The owner was rude, he appeared to be in a bad mood and treated his employee in a way which made me feel embarrassed/sorry for the guy. (the employee in turn continued to be professional, courteous throughout). We had agreed to have the piano tuned upon deliver, the owner proceeded to reschedule "we're too busy" and did not apologize or make any indication of the inconvenience. Upon returning to tune the piano, the business owner did not leave the piano as he found it. A protective cover had been on the piano and was left thrown in the corner of the room and he presented with a generally self-centered attitude which indicated he had no interest in making this a pleasant interaction for me and did not treat the piano with the respect that I would expect any guest/service provider to do. read more

We asked Mr Ramsey to assess our mother's piano, which had deteriorated from insect damage. We wanted a piano for our child to learn on, and we were not attached to keeping the family piano. We told him we had a budget of $800 and couldn't afford more. He insisted that the piano would be in good, playable condition, excellent for learning, when he was through. He took our money and our piano and what we got back was something that was partially improved, but still many keys didn't work, including several keys in the middle ranges. In the middle of the job he called to tell us he was charging us extra because of the insect infestation. He had stood right next to us as we pointed to insects crawling out of the piano, but somehow he felt he could charge us more when he saw them in his shop. We were foolish to trust him. and now realize that Craigslist, plus a musical friend to help us shop, would have been a much wiser use of our money. We suggest that if you deal with this business insist on a printed and signed agreement. His on-line documents are subject to change at his convenience. VERY POOR Quality finish on piano purchased in store: it is now bubbling, flaking and peeling off. HORRIBLE service: unable to receive service on a pedal and keys after the sale. They just ignore you and don't call back. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these people. THEY ARE BAD. read more

Scott Ramsey has a long standing reputation in Tucson as the "cockroach" by experts who build concert piano's from the ground up. It was not I who coined this long standing term for him. This con lied by omission about this having been a player piano and therefore it could not be restored to a manual piano, which was what I told him I was looking for. 1)The finish has holes in it and smudges done when the product wasn't yet dry, therefore no way to get them out or the holes filled except for him to redo the entire finish. 2) He did not work on the action of the piano as part of his full restoration and claims "action" on the piano was NOT part of the restoration process. After speaking with a certified technician with the Piano Technician's Guild I learned that the ACTION of a piano is a basic, integral part of restoring a piano and is in fact the very definition. Scott Ramsey has lied to his attorney and I have all the emails to prove this to him and the judge. That I have to go through a year long lawsuit is wrong. Any attorney who picked up this guy's case can't be a good attorney, or an honest one. The first one he said I should speak with about getting his money back never returned any of my emails to him. I was told, point blank, that I was not to talk to Scott ANYMORE, only to the attorney, so I did. No response. Then, he has his wife call and she threatens me. He and his attorney seem to think I am being difficult because I won't pay for something I did not get and have lied to the court and judges. I've got every email that refutes both of these men. I refuse to pay for work that was not done or done so poorly the item in question doesn't work. Scott Ramsey gave me a very hard time about not being able to pay for the balance of the piano restoration stating his mortgage was due and he wasn't going to be able to pay it without my payment, but he can afford an attorney? I can't. I'm representing myself. He's got a boat in San Diego he and his wife enjoy frequently but he harassed me for money to pay his mortgage. It's been one ugly thing after another! I wanted a piano because my husband and mom died 3 months apart and the piano was purchased to help myself come out of this depression. Mom was a piano teacher so there was a piano in our home my entire life per memory. After my husband died, I haven't been able to go into our living room because that is where his hospice bed was and where he died. I have been doing anything to pull out of this depression and thought a piano would do it. Instead, this horrible person, Scott Ramsey, has made this a nightmare within heartbreak. That this second attorney took his case and is now overtly hostile and not giving factual information...this is unreal. Both men lying, my piano is still unplayable....Unreal. Wonderful experience!!! They were kind and extremely helpful in the piano move, and even helped me rearrange furniture in my home to make more room for the piano, when I was willing to leave it in the middle of the room until I could make the space. Will only be using these guys from now on!!! read more

I would recommend Ramsey Piano to anyone who needs any piano tuner or technician. They have been very helpful and professional. I didn't think my old piano could be repaired but Scott was able to tune and repair what I thought was impossible. read more

If there was a way I could pick "0" stars, I absolutely would. This is the worst piano business I have EVER dealt with. The owner, Scott, is a complete joke and is unbelievably arrogant, lazy, and rude. Not only do they do a terrible job providing "quality" piano services (i.e. cleaning or moving), but they are the rudest people I have ever dealt with in my life. Apparently swearing at and threatening their customers is also part of the service they provide. PLEASE don't waste your time, money, or patience and choose a different piano company to work with. **You don't even have to take my word for it, the fact that they have a "D" rating from the BBB should speak for itself.** read more

Ramsey pianos moved a baby grand piano. Owner is completely rude and stinks of cigarette smoke. He hired other people to help him with no experience. He was late and damaged walls. He held the piano hostage to demand more money to complete the job. Never hire this piano mover. Also when called to pay for damage. He said "That's not going to happen and hung up on me." read more
