We were in Wahweap AZ with 2 flat tires on the same side with our Class C Motorhome. It was HOT, we had 4 dogs with us, stranded. Called on Friday to see if we could get my son's personal effects out of his impounded car and was told yes if the insurance company was coming to pick it up. So we drive the 75 miles from Page, AZ on Saturday just to be told "Oh, the person you talked must not have known it was an impound (though she was told it was an impound) so no, you can't get your stuff out of the car". Will NOT be doing any kind of business with them in the future. read more

These guys are great! We were two California girls with bad car luck and called them an hour before they closed for an oil change and to look at our check engine light. They changed the oil and filter, put air in the tires, got the engine light off and scanned it to see what the issue was so I could take it to a dealership the next day. We did not have a good experience with this business. We were put in touch with them through AAA after we had a flat tire on our motor home while camping in Page Arizona. Supposedly AAA talked to Nick who said he had everything documented and we should call the business first thing in the morning and he would let them know we'd be calling and they'd let us know when someone could get to us. We called first thing in the morning only to be told by a very rude, overbearing, obnoxious female who answered the phone that they knew nothing about it and Nick was hunting and unavailable. She was of no help and didn't even for a second try to help. When we got a hold of AAA again Ramsey Towing refused to help. Thank you for nothing. read more

Still the best auto repair shop I've ever come in contact with. Ive had quite a few setbacks with my Pontiac over the years, and I've never been overcharged by this place or bought something I didn't need. The day after Christmas, my ignition wasn't firing. Nick was off but he drove to my parents' house anyways to take a look and ended up fixing my car. I only wish more mechanics had Nick's honesty and integrity. I was boondocking near Bryce Canyon when my RV battery died. Ramsay towing sent a semi flatbed truck In case I needed to be towed. The driver hooked up his jumper pack and it started right off. I followed him back to the service center (60 miles, they were the only AAA company in the area that could handle a big rig) and they had me park in their lot. This happened late on a Saturday night, closed on Sunday of course. I stayed there in the lot until early Wednesday morning. They installed the new battery and I was on the road by 9 am. The delay was my own fault not theirs. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Great service!! read more

All the other reviews are absolutely correct. Nick Ramsay and all his guys are fantastic to work with, especially if you're stuck with limited options! We were road tripping through Kanab when we noticed a huge coolant leak; Nick (with the help of his brother Gino from the Shell station across the street) was on the scene in a jiffy and fixed up the problem on the spot. On Sunday, in Utah. He was friendly and honest, charged us a fair price ($265 for the work, running the part to us from his shop, and the labor...again on a Sunday) and had us back on the road as quick as he could. He was also very conscientious, triple-checking his work to make sure we weren't dealing with the same problems a few miles down the road. Cannot recommend highly enough! read more

Worst experience ever! I used the towing service and got charged immediately. But later on my car rental company covered the payment and Ramsay Towing said they already refunded me. The thing is, when I saw the receipt, the refund went to the wrong card, a visa card, of whom I have completely no idea who is that!!! mine is a master card. the worst part is that when I called Ramsay, they kept saying "we already refunded the card we charged and we have no responsibility now." What the hell, I dont know where your money goes and I dont care! I didnt get my money back and this is your responsibility!!! I dont care what happened to your system and whether it is machine or human error!! read more

Service from shop was great and would have given 5 stars but two counter workers are rude. Unfortunately the two people that sit in the office, young Woman and Jake, have zero customer service skills. Did not get greeted with a hi or hello when walked to the counter, instead was asked "what do you need?" Knowing how the Owner Nick has managed his business' for over 30 yrs with Excellent Customer service it is sad to see happen not just to us but also to 3 other customers that walked in during the time we waited for our vehicle. Work was completed correctly and all shop workers are polite and knowledgable. So if you can look past the rudeness from the two at the counter and not expect to be greeted with a smile or even a Hi, you will be fine. read more

My oil light came on while getting petrol and I popped across the street to see if I could buy a bottle of oil at the Napa auto parts place. I just tried passing a Ramsay's tow truck and he tried to prevent me from doing this. He was going slow but when he saw that somebody wanted to get around him he decided he was going to accelerate and try to prevent that person me from doing it. If that's the kind of people they have working for Ramsay's Towing I would never want to use them, I would never recommend them. Maybe it made him feel masculine to try to get someone to have a car crash. read more

To add to another review I did, I would not recommend them for any kind of vehicle work. I had my tires/wheels swapped a few months ago from winter to summer. I needed them to do this so they could reset the pressure sensor, as they are the only local shop that "supposedly" does this. In short, I was quoted $24 on the phone, took my car down, they had it done in a couple hours and charged me $36. There were no parts, mounting, balancing needed, just swapping tires/wheels, which I could have done, but needed them to reset the sensors. Drove off, sensors not reset, drove back, told me they figured this would happen since they put the other wheels/tires in the car and it messed with the reading. So, why didn't they do this correct in the first place? They told me to come back the next day and they would reset them. Came back, they didn't have time to do this simple task, which takes other shops only a couple minutes to do. Came back a total of 7 times and they never had time, the one person who does it wasn't in, etc., and wanted me to leave my car, which I couldn't just do. So, I ended up driving all the way to St. George to have it done, which was done in less then a minute. To add, we drove a few weeks ago to Colorado, then had and emergency with our grandson being life-flighted to Salt Lake, so had to detour to there and drove home to Kanab. After a hectic week, we drove up to Brian Head, noticed a slight shimmy and knocking noise from the front left tire area. We drove around, stopping at the various pullouts along the way and it kept getting louder, so we tried to pin point it and couldn't find anything. On the way back, it got extremely loud so we pulled over and started to take the tire off. Put the lug wrench on the lug and it just fell to the ground. The lug nuts on the front left tire were so loose, they could be turned by hand and the rest of the tires we able to be turned at least a 1/4 turn to tighten. The tire was ready to come off, so you can imagine what would have happened if we had been driving back from Salt Lake at 80mph with our daughter and grandson in the car and the tire had come off. You may say it's my responsibility to check the work of the shop after it's done, but I have never in the 40+ years of getting tires changed, mounted, etc. had my lug nuts be loose to any degree. My guess, would be that they threw the tires on, didn't tighten them down and didn't even try to set the sensors. That's just unprofessional and in this case could have been deadly. Not to mention, that every time I have to go in to pick up one of our company vehicles, they just stare at you like you're inconveniencing them to even say, "hello". They have a serious good customer service problem and apparently cannot perform the simplest of tasks without putting lives in danger. read more

Excellent service at a reasonable rate. We limped into town on a Sunday afternoon towing a trailer on our way to the north rim. Dropped off the truck at 7:30am Monday. By 10:30 they diagnosed the problem and by noon we were back on the road. Couldn't be happier. read more

We were driving on N Fork County Road towards Hwy 9 when both our 4x4 vehicles became stuck in the mud after a short and intense storm rendered the road to a sheet of clay. I asked the dispatcher how they were going to get to the cars with the roads as bad as they were. She told me they do this all the time and not to worry. Even though it was a Sunday afternoon, the owner, Nick I believe, showed up within an hour of our call (it is 45 miles from his shop in Kanab to where we waited). The 1986 Chevy 4x4 dually tow truck is a beast and Nick could make that thing dance. We talked briefly about the situation and then drove to the cars. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He charged me for 2 hours of work which was extremely fair. The cars were recovered quickly and expertly. Thank you !!! read more

Kindness to strangers. A friend of mine got stuck in snow on a forest service road near here. He was only able to text for help and I was driving across Arizona at the time. I called AAA who said they don't help people more than 50 feet off a main road. (Really?) So I started calling tow places. Jake at Ramsey's Towing in Kanab wins the good human award. Without question, he jumped right in trying to figure out how to get to my friend. As it turned out, hunters came by, but it's a rare thing to find someone so willing to go out of their way to help. Jake at Ramsay rally helped us out. We got a flat tire on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and tries to find a replacement close by. Even though Ramsay Towing did not have the tire, Jake was able to get one overnight and made arrangements to call us when it came in so we would know when to drive into Kanab. We needed our RV towed from a campsite near Zion National Park. Ramsey Towing came highly recommended by the staff from Zion Ponderosa Ranch (another excellent place & group of people). One of their staff Ben came promptly, worked efficiently & even made friends with our nervous dog who generally does not like workmen or loud trucks. He was very pleasant & filled us in on local history. We met the owner Nick Ramsey who was both courteous & just plain nice & fair. Read some wonderful testimonials around his shop. The repair work was beyond what they could do there & he made arrangements for us to go to the Chevrolet dealership in St. George. He could have checked our Rv over & made extra & to tell us that, but had talked with a local man who had come out to our campsite to see what he could do. Our tow continued with my husband, myself, our 2 dogs& our driver Ben. Time went fast with good conversation & competent driving & answers to any questions we had about the area. The Chevy dealership in St. George, Utah would not take us in. They had just moved locations & did not have their place in order. We were under warrenty & the impression was that they didn't want to deal with that. The Chevy people sent us to another place ...a GM dealership who said they could not help us saying that the Chevy dealership was the only place that could do engine work on a rv. Nick Ramsey tried to intervine & the dealership would not answer his calls. Eventually we went to a place that Ben & Nick knew people that could work on just about anything... St.George Transmission. They took us right in. Both Nick & Ben filled them in on our situation. Our rv had major computer problems. Their work will have another review of its own. Ransey Towing in plain words went beyond competency. They made sure we were ok & in competent hands.if I could give a higher rating than just 5 stars I would. After our dry wheel bearing caught fire and almost caught the entire travel trailer on fire, there we were, stranded between the Utah/Arizona/Nevada gorge. Well, the first tow guy (NOT FROM RAMSAY), showed up and was inexperienced, to say the least, but he did manage to get us off the freeway and to a dry camping spot for the night. The next day, Sandy, from Ramsay Towing came to our aid, with a 3 hour drive to get to us. Sandy showed with the right truck and skills to get us to the shop. Sandy was just about the nicest guy you would ever want to meet. He was super experienced and skilled and even helped prep us with questions for the mechanic in Nevada. We cannot thank Sandy enough, for helping us out of a dire situation. If we are ever broken down in this area again, the ONLY tow we will request from AAA, would be Ramsay's Tow. I was on a cross country road trip with my buddy, we left Zion National Park and were headed for the Grand Canyon. We were in AZ about 45 minutes past Kanab when our truck broke down around 8:00pm. The tow truck driver, who didn't work for Ramsay, said the Ramsay Auto Repair was the closest place and he called Mr Ramsay and said we were coming. My first though was we were going to be paying the big bucks for the repairs since we didn't have options. I was completely wrong. Not only did Mr. Ramsay meet us at his shop and assured us we be first in line in the morning with an estimate and if we wanted the repair. The most impressive and unexpected part of our ordeal is that Mr Ramsay lent us loaner car, AT NO CHARGE, so we didn't have to walk around with all our stuff looking for hotel rooms. We gave the go ahead to replace the mass airflow sensor that morning and were back on the road by 10am. I have to give Ramsay Auto Repair my highest recommendation. Their honesty, fair prices, excellent service and most importantly the way they went out of their way to help a couple guys who would have been really "up the creek" without them. I am always thankful that their are people out their like Mr. Ramsay who went out of his way to help strangers/customers in need. read more

We hit a deer in the mountains at 5 am on a Saturday morning in May 2014 and limped into Kanab leaking coolant and a smashed front end on our Subaru wagon . They opened at 8 am and promptly determined we were in need of repairs and parts not quickly and locally available .Our car insurance company determined the best course of action was to transport our car to a Subaru dealer . Ben their young intelligent tow driver and mechanic towed us 80 miles to St. George , Ut. to a Subaru dealer for repairs .Ben was thoroughly entertaining while we rode with him to St. George, giving us the history of the area and generally being the best thing that happened to us all day .....as we later rented a car from Enterprise to drive to Phoenix that died 20 miles from town and another tow truck ride into Phoenix to finish our long day...Ben is asset to Ramsay Towing and we are proud to have spent a few hours with him.... read more
