I was referred to Mr. Daniel Ramos (dba RAMOS LANDSCAPING) by ANGI. Mr. Ramos came out to see the site of our project (which is our home) and to make an appraisal of the cost of the services and materials as an estimate of the total price for the work. He promised to get back in touch with me to give us the information. He did not. I called him back. A portion of the project--replacement of our concrete driveway--requires a permit from the City of San Antonio, Texas--and I had discussed this with Mr. Ramos when he came here to make his estimate. I told him that the cost of the work would need to include the permits needed. He said that he understood and then he agreed to include such costs in his estimate. When I called him back he stated that he could not obtain the permits from the city because he is not appropriately licensed and insured/bonded for such work. He offered to perform some of the work but said that the only way that he would be able to do the remainder of it would be if I could get the permits needed in my name. I declined, of course, and will now have to continue the search for someone who is properly qualified and authorized to perform the work with proper permits from the city. This did not improve my situation in any way. I wish him good luck, but I don't understand how he can get work in this industry, or any other such industry, if he cannot get the required legal authorization to do so. read more

I needed several dead trees cut down and removed, limbs cleared away from and off of the roof, several hackberry and similar trees removed, and loose limbs and branches cleared from the yard and prepared for pickup. Daniel came out at the time we had scheduled and gave me a very competitive estimate and a guarantee that the job would be done right. After he gave his quote, I added a few more things I wanted to be done and Daniel didn't change his price nor did he balk at doing them. I needed the work done by our brush pickup date and he showed up on time, finished quickly, and left everything neatly stacked for pickup. I am extremely happy with the results, extremely impressed by his professionalism, and will recommend him to others. Daniel removed dead / dying bushes for us. He pulled them by the roots as we had asked. We were really happy that he was able to squeeze us in early and he hauled off the dead bushes so we didn't have to deal with them. He did ask for partial payment after the first day's work but we thought it was reasonable for the amount of work he was able to accomplish. Nice gentleman showed up when he said he would. He gave me some pricing that I thought was on the high side but I haven't done side by sides so I can't really speak to their value proposition. What I'm speaking to here is that we did agree on a price, a day and time to do a small job (repair a broken gate). Then the day arrives and he just ghosted me, without notice and without any follow up. I texted twice asking what happened and if he wants to reschedule. Zero replies. Is it a reliable company that sets an actual appointment and then just no-shows without notice, without explanation, without follow up, without apology??? You be the judge. read more
