It was way better when the previous owner ran it (actually my favorite food place in the area). When it was Las Fuentes I never had a bad meal or bad service. I always judge Mexican restaurants by their Fajitas, any mexican food place can make a taco , most should be able to to make a decent burrito , but if their Fajitas aren't good usually the rest of the food isn't good either. But the food at Ramons isn't even the worst reason for this review, it was some of the new staff. When I first walked in I did Just like the chalk board on the floor said, I waited to be seated... and I waited... And I waited ... about 7 minutes at this point, all while listening to two blonde women in the kitchen gossiping about some other woman in their personal life. As I Waited , another man walked in and walked past me to the counter, where his to go order was sitting . Finally when they were done gossiping , they both came out of the kitchen ,that you can see from the waiting area if they would have ever stopped talking and just looked in there, and they finally noticed they had customers. both wearing jeans t-shirts and flip flops , they looked as if they were ready to go check out garage sales , not restaurant employees. They took care of the man and his order which they screwed up , but they put a note in the bag, ( so i guess that makes it ok lol) . finally I was seated , they did actually quickly go get chips and salsa and my drink , and asked if I was ready to order , I replied i'll need just a minute please , That turned into approx 10-15 minutes before one came back and took my order , its not as if they were busy they had one couple at one end of the restauant and one other gentleman at the other end that had all been served. ( 3 ) customers. My order came out in a short time and was placed in front of me , The fajita plate was not sizzling hot like it should have been , the other plate had the condiments on it and there was the foil pack with my tortillas , she said enjoy and walked off, I unwrapped the tortillas, grabbed one, and noticed I had no plate to make the fajitas on , in just a moment she was near me cleaning a table, I asked her maam, could I please get a plate to make my fajitas on ? She says , sure just a sec, and continued to clean the table, and then she moved to the next table and cleaned it also ! then she went to get my plate that for what ever reason took her a few more minutes, meanwhile Im still holding my Tortilla in the palm of my hand waiting. finally i get to make a fajita, from the plate that wasnt sizzling when it came out, it was barely warm , and now after all this time had actually gotten cold, but it was after lunch time and I had'nt eater since dinner the night before and I was starving. I bit into it and such dissapointment, I dont know if it was the beef they used or the seasoning ( I got the mixed beef and chicken) but the beef tasted like wet dog food smells. but I ate it anyway, like I said I was really hungry , so I left only a small $2 tip , and went to the counter to pay , which she asked me how it was , I replied, well honestly it was better under the old ownership. She immediately blamed the cooks. I know for a fact some of the cook staff is supposed to be the same lol. but I think personally the recipes and ingredients may have changed.. So give it a try if you wish, but I wont waste my time or money there again . I am also a business owner hear in the area with an appliance business and I deal with customers every day , at my business and in their homes , and those two women could never work for me lol. read more
