Bathroom Renovation: The overall quote is fair, but the contractor is not diligent in listing the…read moreitems to be done and the necessary supplies. They list the quantity, not the price - they are vague in all matters of money. They mistype and are not accurate with the quantities on the quotes. They are slow. They do not place the order for supplies when they should, and then try to make it like they are going out of their way to purchase like items. They do not show up to review the work that was done by subcontractors at the end of the day. They rely on photos taken by the workers. When work is finished, they will raise the bill, making up one excuse after another. They are a good example of why people will or need to record video appointments and work. They will not work with you on the final bill. They will get a foot-stomping attitude, then increase your bill because you dare not recognize their kindness in not listing every 75-cent item. They changed the original quote after a month of working, removing key items. They then sent a final invoice that was several thousand dollars over the original agreement and walked off the job, leaving the job incomplete. Update to your response: We didn't add anything to our (list of work to be done ), quote after work began. Every time we mentioned another aspect (to see when you had it on the schedule), you would claim we never discussed it before, even the next day. You never mentioned anything that exceeded the discussed quoted amount. You never gave us updates on the amount over the quote. You measured the room to provide us with a quote in the first place, and I immediately mentioned the size of the shower, which remained unchanged. The remaining space was always going to be a built-in, and you acknowledged that yourself on the first day of work. If you know math, then you know the basics to give a $$ amount. If, as you claim, it wasn't part of the original quote, you should have provided a specific amount before you even started building it, so we could approve the additional expense. You even mentioned in the quote a shower door - so you knew having a finished working shower with glass was on the list. The amount of glass is the only thing that changed before the work started. The only thing you did was pitch a fit that something wasn't mentioned before. You never said, "Here is how it will affect the cost." Is my bathroom finished? No work still needs to be done. You went back and changed the original quote, then gave us, as you put it, a final invoice. You broke the original contract.

We called Operation Handyman after a referral from Home Depot to get an estimate on kitchen cabinet…read morerepair. It took some time to get anyone to come out, but someone finally did. He looked at the cabinets and asked me if I knew the color of the stain, which I did not. I was told that I would have an estimate in a couple of days, but to see if I could find out the stain color (which was sort of odd, because I'm not the professional). I could not and nothing happened as far as receiving an estimate. Some time went by and I eventually I received an email apologizing and about some personal issues they had that delayed the estimate. Still, nothing happened. I received more messages and a call asking me to find out not only the stain color, but also the finish etc. I was given the option to either call the company who custom built this kitchen (back in 2008) or take a sample to Home Depot and compare and find the closest one on my own. I didn't feel comfortable trying to find a matching stain on my own and the company who built it didn't have those records anymore. I could not believe that I couldn't at least get an estimate for repair of the cabinets. It seemed like Operation Handyman was trying to make me do all of the leg work trying to match a stain, when they are the professionals, or so I thought. It felt like they just didn't want to do the job, because I can't believe that they wouldn't be able to give a simple estimate. After 6 weeks of getting strung along, I contacted them again and asked if I needed to find someone else and they never even had the curtesy of responding.
