I tend to be skeptical of Asian food in European countries but was delightfully surprised by this find. To combat the hangover from the night before and the drizzle weather of October, I stopped in on this ramen shop. The inside was Japanese styled with wooden booths, separating the booths from the rest of the restaurant with fabric hanging partitions. Best thing on the menu: Buta-tama Tonkatsu Ramen - Creamy Hakata styled ramen with a hint of miso and pork flavoring Ambiance - bustling, less light than usual Japanese inspired cedar booths and decor that plays English Top 40s music

We randomly stumbled on this brand in Amsterdam and was happy to find another location in Milan - Just opened earlier 2019. We all had the nankou chicken ramen because this was the winner when we first tried Takumi. The ramen noodles were curly and cooked slightly over al dente. Broth was so creamy and rich I was impolitely drinking off of everyone's bowl (don't worry, no milk in there for those who are allergic to dairy). A pleasant surprise was how crispy the chicken skin was. Cooked as if it's traditional Chinese roasted pork with a lot of good flavor on both the meat and skin. The spicy miso with seafood is good too... though not as memorable as the nankou chicken ramen. Also recommend the housemade iced tea and the spicy okonomiyaki karaage chicken.

So, we were craving Chinese food after a few nights of pasta, panini, more pasta... looked up Chinatown and walked around. It was a Sunday... and there was a street fair... lots of little stalls selling treats... I had fishballs, egg waffles... and we landed here at Jin Yong for dinner. We got a bunch of food: -oysters... I didn't have any... but friends had it.. it was questionable. Not sure why they ordered oysters in a Chinese restaurant lol -braised bamboo shoots - love this!!! -snails (teeny tiny... can't even really enjoy it)... please add stronger green long peppers and more sliced ginger. -sliced beef w/ chives... please sautéed the beef with fried garlic, and season w/ oyster & sweet soy then toss the chives for 5 seconds! Otherwise it will be like this watery mess you served us. -Ong-Choy - this one is ok, maybe add sliced chili and fermented bean curd -the noodle (think this was a Taiwanese dish) needs rehab... it was awful. No flavor whatsoever, sautéed the ground pork! Then toss with sauce! Please -clams... This was a confusing dish.. either make it as dry sautéed in black bean sauce or in broth... no semi-brothy. Not good flavors. -the fried rice... was so sad... the flavors were fighting each other... too oily. No "wok hay" whatsoever. It's a very sad dish. Overall... the food is about 2.5-3 stars, I feel like the chef lacked passion for the food. Or perhaps... that's what Italians want for Chinese cuisine. Just like Americans want their chicken broccoli... who knows. Being generous with 3 stars bc of the bamboo shoots. Ciao.

As a ramen fanatic, (you will see most of my reviews are from ramen places) I had high hopes when I…read moreentered this place since their website and the interior deco is modern and educational. Food wise disappointing and agree with all the other reviews online. I had read the reviews before I came but still wanted to give it a chance and it was so so at best. As a starting base I always order gyoza. The skins were all falling apart from the meat - basic lacking in training of cooks. Tasted okay. Ramen menu is classic meaning they offer three diff broth for all the ramen they have. I ordered the basic ramen with pork - came with cabbage and carrots which were honestly not the best combo. The pork belly inside were too flimsy. The worst part was the noodle. It was so overdone and soggy when it arrived which meant it gradually got soggier and soggier as I ate and I'm Asian so I eat noodles super fast. Overall disappointing experience - the interior deco and everything else is "trying hard" but definitely missing the mark when you can't cook a ramen noodle properly. One star for failed food but one more for great service - staff seemed all new and seems to be like deer in headlights but they were trying so hard and super friendly.

This new ramen place is located in what is becoming Brera's Food Street, Via Solferino (lots of cool places here). The place is big (two levels), minimalistic (white walls, light wood furniture) and crowded. You can choose to eat at the bar for a quicker service, or get a table. The menu consists of 6 different kinds of ramen: chicken, beef, veggies or fish containing fresh daily-made noodles (waiters can advise you on the different kinds of noodles and broths and the best pairings with the ramen you choose. They have other small plates to nibble while you wait - and if you're hungry, you'd better order one of these because they are slow, of course, they're slow because they make your ramen to order, so at least you know they took their time preparing it, plus the place is nice so a bit of a wait with something to drink and nibble is not that bad. Plus you get to do some people-watching among the clients! Among the drinks, they have japanese teas and beers. I had the pork and cabbage ramen and a glass of Asahi. It was cooked perfectly, a good portion and really tasty. Comparing it to other more traditional ones abroad, this one however seemed a tiny bit less authentic, although more original and lighter. The price is fair for what you get, and if you don't mind the wait for your hot and tasty ramen, you should try it! But make sure you book your table.
