Miso Ramen and garlic edamame
Kelsi B.

I wasn't a fan of this unfortunately. The miso broth was super fatty, and when I took it home it coagulated in the fridge which I haven't had happen before. The portion of pork belly was small too. I'll try it again with a different broth and see if it's better. 3 stars because the garlic edamame was delicious. servers were super nice and I liked the vibe of the restaurant.

Had the corn butter ramen. It was great! full of flavor and reasonably priced

This place was very welcoming, the moment you walk in the entire staff greets everyone. We got upstairs seating I loved the dim lighting, gave it a relaxing feel to it. The food and service was great

Two orders of pan fried gyoza

Quick and delicious. I love this location. They are always so nice. I come here at least once a week.

~ ! SO YUMMY FOR SUCH A GREAT PRICE ! ~ The service here is so great!! We went at 11PM and they still treated us w/ THE BEST service! Our waitress was so sweet also! Inside is nicely decorated with 2 stories and there is only street parking. The food is so good! I'll definitely get more nigiri and try the rolls next time.

Recently it is understandable about the ramen and its separation taste from other locations. Definitely try which one suits you. I will say however, there bowls are amazing!!

Best place for ramen, delicious sushi, and beer! This place has it all for half the price of all the other ramen spots! Service is immaculate! Ambiance is chill try to sit in the second floor that's the whole experience!

Lava Salmon

Kind of disappointing, this is my go to spot for ramen or any other small eats. Ordered take out and my lava salmon was either not fresh at all or partially cooked. I feel it could've been bagged in a separate bag outside of the hot items. The sashimi has a smoked salmon texture and there's some white around the pieces.

I've been to the PB Ryoma multiple times and it is always a hit as far as quality and service. I tried this location for the first time last night after craving late ramen, and still definitely prefer the PB location, however this location's ambiance is really cool. The upstairs bar feels like you're plopped into an anime scene. The service was quick but we did notice some mistakes: The chashu in the ramen was cold despite being in the boiling ramen soup. Despite this, it had great flavor. And we ordered two different kinds of mochi and only got one kind. Nothing that was a huge deal. The garlic edamame was also really good and flavorful. I would return to this location but they did seem less on it than the PB location.

Strawberry Flavored Nigori Sake (375ml) - 7.5/10 Yummy!

This place has the best vegetable rolls we have ever had. The sushi was simple, but packed with so much flavor. The basic ramen was good. The nigori sake was good as well. We didn't care to much for the salmon skin roll. Service was great and ambiance was cool too! Great place for date night!

Keira, Aicha, zen, and axil gave me vip service! The vegan ramen was absolutely delicious!!! They were so accommodating and welcoming!! 10 out 10 stars!!!!

i love their ramen. we get their ramen often! never had a problem. today my husband wanted ramen but i got sushi and omg. ALL of this is terrible from the eel sauce to 'spicy mayo' (doesn't look like it or taste like it) and the sushi is so bad. it's soooo sweet, all of it. the eel sauce taste like pure sugar and maybe a little bit of soy sauce. the sushi itself taste SO sweet which throws me off with sushi so much. all i taste is funnel cake!! it legit taste like a foul funnel cake. don't even get me started on the spicy mayo. that is NOT spicy mayo. i don't know what it is. never getting sushi from here again. they also packaged it terrible. they put hot soup liquid on top of the sauce containers and the top of the Plastic containers melted. the soup lid also wasn't on good and it spilled out into the bag and my husband was like whatever and literally poured it from out the bag so he could still eat his soup. he did Not tilt it- the lid was not on fully. terribly disappointed. so so bad sushi

Great spot for late night eats! We came around 2am after a night out and ordered ramen, takoyaki, and the pride special Wagyu beef nigiri. Our favorite item was actually the Wagyu beef nigiri! Tender meat with wasabi over rice that melted in our mouths. The takoyaki was standard and took awhile to be served as it was an appetizer, however not bad for the area. The ramen noodles were cooked well with a nice chew and a decent portion size for the value.

I think what puts this experience as a four star rather than a 3 star is the service. I was in a party of five people and we were sat upstairs in one of the booths, which was quite intimate and private. Our view overlooked downstairs bar area. Our server was exceptional. She was the right balance of funny and engaging while also not overbearing. She gave us recommendations, she explained all the foods it was just overall delight being served be her. I went with the killer spicy and super sized it. I thought it was hot but not spicy until half way through. Perhaps I didn't mix it well. I went with the miso broth. We ordered a bunch of appetizers for the table to share. The gyoza, the jalapeño poppers, the veggie spring rolls and one item off their speciality menu which I can't remember what it's called. All were fine. We were all starving so it was well worth it. Others ordered the Chashu, Negi, Ma-yu ramen. All tasted pretty solid minus the Ma-yu. I didn't care for that one at all. Maybe it was the Shoyu broth. Not the greatest of areas to park although on this Sunday night at 5pm it wasn't half bad. We all found parking about a 7 minute walk away. Reasonably priced which also makes me feel like I'll come back again sooner rather than later!

Honestly hard to find a place with so many choices and very reasonable pricing. My most recent visit I saw that the menu was changed completely and that they were serving tori paitan. I never had it before so I had to try it and it was delicious! You still get a very similar mouth feel of a creamy tonkotsu ramen, but it just doesn't sit as heavy. I think scrapping a menu that they've had for years is a bold move, but I see the vision. They're bringing a different style of ramen that you won't really find anywhere else here in San Diego. Would highly recommend being open minded and giving it a shot. Also would recommend ordering it with hard thin noodles. Workers are also always very friendly and knowledgeable about the sake so definitely ask for a recommendation to pair with your food.

RakiRaki has been a regular stop for me when I'm in San Diego, and while the ramen is excellent and…read morethey offer some very good sushi rolls, I have to start with the real reason I keep coming back: their karaage chicken! This is hands down my favorite karaage chicken anywhere. Crispy and beautifully seasoned on the outside, juicy on the inside, and dangerously easy to keep eating long after you know you've had enough. In fact, whenever I eat here, I almost always order an extra karaage to go specifically to take back to my hotel and enjoy a day or two later. That probably says more than anything else I could write about it! There's also a pretty interesting story behind RakiRaki. Owner and executive chef Junya Watanabe was born in Tokyo and eventually spent about 20 years in the fashion industry before changing directions and pursuing ramen. He traveled back to Japan to learn the craft and trained under respected Japanese ramen chefs before opening the original RakiRaki right here on Convoy Street in 2012. It turned out to be a pretty good decision! RakiRaki became one of the restaurants associated with a newer generation of businesses that helped transform Convoy into the incredible Asian dining destination it is today. Watanabe subsequently expanded into other locations and Japanese food concepts, including ventures focused on vegan Japanese cuisine, sushi, and, appropriately enough considering my obsession with it, Japanese karaage. The ramen here is also excellent and absolutely worth coming for. They offer everything from tonkotsu and chicken ramen to tsukemen, along with some seriously flavorful specialty bowls. If ramen isn't what you're after, their sushi rolls are another good option, and the presentation can be really impressive. This location is in the Convoy Street area, so parking can be an adventure. The restaurant sits in a very busy center with several other restaurants all competing for the same limited number of spaces. Give yourself a little extra time, especially during peak dining hours. Service has always been pleasant, although I don't think it's quite as good as what I remember from their former Little Italy location on India Street. Nothing bad by any means, just not quite the same level of attentiveness and overall experience I remember from that location. Still, the food keeps me coming back. Great ramen, beautifully presented sushi, an interesting San Diego success story, and karaage chicken that I literally order twice during the same meal just so I can have it again later. A solid four stars and definitely worth a stop when you're eating your way through Convoy. Just be prepared to hunt for parking!

It hurts to say it was mid. The rice bowl was okay but the chicken didnt have too much flavor and i feel like the rice to chicken ration was a little off. For the rakiraki roll, there was just too much rice. When you look at the rolls sure theyre big but its mainly rice. I think for the price, you could go somewhere else for better rolls. The other one had too much cream cheese too. All i tasted was rice and cream cheese. The staff were very friendly and attentive though. We didnt notice that we had dropped something on the floor and one of them picked it up for us. The restaurant itself is nice but as introverts, the two seater tables are very close to each other. Its fine though I understand the need to maximize space. Overall I would come back for their ramen but I probably wont get the rolls or rice bowl again.

The restaurant is in Sky Deck which is an upscale food court with plenty of other restaurant options. Very nice ambiance. We were exploring the culinary scene during the San Diego Restaurant Week (13th-20th Sept 2026) and decided on this one because of the good reviews and we've never been here. There's a special menu (with special pricing) for the Restaurant Week (see pictures for menu). There's also a special lunch price for Bento Boxes between 11am-5pm which was a great deal. I've been to Ramen Nagi a handful of times, and it's one of those places I know I can count on when I'm craving a really satisfying bowl of ramen. In facts, its probably my favorite ramen spot ever. First, the must-order for me is the potstickers. They come connected, so you literally get to break them apart yourself. It sounds like a small thing, but it's actually pretty fun, and the potstickers themselves are delicious. Crispy on the bottom, juicy inside and perfect for dipping. But the ramen is really where Ramen Nagi shines. I love how customizable it is. You can choose your broth, richness, noodle texture, spice level and all the little additions, so you can really build the bowl exactly how you want it. I usually like having the ability to control the richness and spice because sometimes I want something comforting and rich, and other times I want something a little lighter. You can also control how chewy you want the noodles to be. The noodles have a great texture and the broth is flavorful without needing a ton of extra toppings to make it interesting. There is also plenty of variety, so you can come back and try something different each time. I also appreciate that the portions are filling without feeling like you're just getting a giant bowl of noodles. Don't leave without ordering the potstickers. And definitely take advantage of all the ramen customization options.
