Heard about this place for a while now and finally gave it a try. They definitely lived up to the hype! The place is clean and cozy with attentive staff who also speak English. The ramen was delicious and so was the fried chicken (kaaguri). Prices were excellent as well. I really enjoyed this place a lot!

(Jan 2020) One of the best ramen I've ever had (haven't been to Japan yet). The wait time was extremely longn, but worth it!! I tried their dry ramen (no soup) and my sister had a regular one. Both were incredibly delicious! A must when in Madrid! Uno de los mejores ramen que he probado, no se van a arrepentir.

Very overhyped in my opinion. They recently took off all spicy items on their menu as well so there's that. Thankfully I was seated right away since I arrived right when they opened for dinner (8:30pm). The chicken karaage appetizer was a 8/10. It was super crispy and was fresh out of the fryer. The edamame was mediocre and it could've been fresher. Lastly, the tonkatsu ramen was lackluster. The egg was very salty but still marinated well. The chasu was tough to chew, and the noodles weren't amazing. The broth itself lacked flavor. Keep in mind I've tried many bowls of ramen around the US and Japan so I could just be picky, but honestly the hype surrounding this place ruined it for me.

Madrid never disappoints! Ramen Kagura is a stunningly affordable ramen joint with great food and a nice, casual atmosphere. My friend and I tried to go to Ramen Kagura for dinner on a Friday night (it's his favorite ramen join in the city), but there was such a long line that I decided to come back a few days later. On my second attempt, I arrived ten minutes before opening to avoid any wait, and was still about the fifth in line (!). We were seated right around 1pm. The restaurant has a nice interior, with a back room and a good amount of seating. Since I was dining alone, I was seated at the bar. I ordered the lunch set meal, which is an insanely good deal: 9 euros for a beer, 3 pieces of gyoza, a full bowl of ramen, AND dessert. The service was prompt, and the food was very good. I ordered the shio ramen. The broth was silky and delicious and the chashu tender and well-cooked. It's a big portion, too! The gyoza was tasty, pretty standard, and I had black sesame ice cream for dessert -- a little watery but not bad. This is a great stop for lunch. The price point is unbeatable, especially given the quality of the food.

I stayed in a hostel across from Ramen Kagura, and I noticed there was a line out the door EVERY single day! Luckily, I dined in towards the end of the night on a raining day, so there wasn't a wait. The hostess spoke English so it was easy to communicate. The front of the restaurant is quite narrow which is more suitable for parties under 4, but they do have seats in the back too! I ordered the Tantanmen. Loved the flavors. I'm not a ramen connoisseur, but I have to say, this tasted better than some of the ramen bowls I've had in South SF. One thing I wish my bowl had less and more of - more spice (on a level of 1-5, I'd give it a 1. Then again, I eat a lot spice sooo...) and lastly, less salt. Although it was flavorful, the soup had too much sodium in my opinion. Overall, I enjoyed the soup! If you're looking for something Asian then go here! Look for the restaurant with a pig sign. :)

Having lived in places where amazing ramen is easily accessible, I have to say that Ramen Kagura isn't the best ramen that I've had in my life. But it is far from the worst ramen. In fact, Ramen Kagura is actually good ramen, especially considering it's in Madrid, a city in which you wouldn't normally expect to find good ramen. I came here during lunchtime, and the wait wasn't too long. I liked that they had waiters and waitresses who spoke multiple languages, so they could help you out in a lot of different languages. The ramen here was also very cheap, especially if you get the sets. The only part I was sad about was that they forgot to include the egg in my ramen! But it was a great experience, and I would definitely return (over and over again)!

Ramen done right. You know a place is good when you need a reservation on a Wednesday night and the place is packed with Japanese people slurping it up (& you should slurp- it's polite). There are three types of ramen broth you can order (salty, soy, and ??). I tried the salt and soy ones and liked both. I ordered the salt one and the broth had a lemon-tang as well. I've never had ramen with lemon before. I also had the salmon sushi and it was very simple, but very good. Service was quick and the place is cute and well-run.

Ramen Kagura is THE BEST ramen I've ever tasted in my life. I live in New York and even the ramen in New York cannot compare to Kagura. I tried three types of ramen here, the Tonkotsu soja (pork broth), Tantanmen (spicy ramen), and Tonkotsu Carabinero Ramen (pork broth with seafood sauce). I enjoyed the seafood ramen the most out of the three since it had such a rich seafood taste that was so sweet and made the ramen noodles taste even better. All members of our party ordered the Menu Del Dia which came with 3 gyozas, a drink, a ramen and your choice of dessert (coffee jelly, green tea or sesame ice cream or strawberry panna cotta- which they call cheesecake.) We ordered the 400 grams of ramen which was A LOT of food, so I suggest if you're super hungry then 400g will fill you up but you could have ordered 200 grams of ramen and still be super full. Overall THE BEST RAMEN I'VE EVER HAD in my life. It says something! Fun fact: the restaurant is officially accredited as an authentic Japanese restaurant by the General Incorporated Association; it's LEGIT af.

Visited Madrid on a rainy weekend so we were in search for soup! We were happy to find a few ramen places in Madrid and decided to go with this one. Once again, yelp always comes through! Location: it is about a 5 minute walk from the Opera train stop. Easy to find! Interior: can seat 45 customers ..either come early before opening or later when the lunch/dinner rush has stopped. We arrived at about 745pm and there was already about 20 people in line. Service: staff here are awesome. They stopped by our table about 5 times to ask if we were doing ok. Food: what i love about this place is that you have 3 options of ramen serving sizes to choose from - 100g, 200g, and 400g. If you are a light eater or if you ordering other food besides ramen, the 100g is a perfect portion! My husband and i both tried the tonkatsu miso and it did not disappoint. The pork slices were tender and just the right amount of "juicyness" to it. The noodles were cooked just right, not too mushy or too hard. The egg was prepared well, not under or over done. Hubs got the 200g and i got 100g and we were both happy with our servings. Also, the broth didn't leave you feeling like you needed to drink a gallon of water - it wasn't salty at all! We also got the chicken karaage and a side of white rice. The portions were fairly big and were not dry. Definitely hit the spot with the chicken. Prices, food, staff - all awesome. We will definitely come Back if we are in

We were at a nearby thrift store, Aramayo, whereby the long line to this restaurant caught my eye. I happened to then pick up some food for takeout. I got fried rice for 5.8 Euro, and a large Tonkotsu Shio ramen for 9.8 and a large maki dragon eel with avocado 8 piece roll for 9.8. The ramen was fantastic and I liked how they packed the broth in a separate container and everything in the ramen just hit the right note. Not salty at all too. The fried rice was also a lovely dish. The rice wasn't clumpy at all and it has its fair share of vegy and meat protein. The only dish that was just so so was the sushi roll. It wasn't all that bad but didn't hit it out of the park. Overall, it was pretty good and I felt I got a good value for the money. Definitely a long line for this place so if you are eating in, be sure to come early.

I got the tonkatsu ramen. I think Madrid has won in the food category. Everything I've had so far during my visit did not disappoint. It's very rare that Asian food is good in a foreign country, but i gotta say, this place def hit the spot for me. The chicken was delicious as well. The broth for the ramen was rich, flavorful and delicious. The pork slices were tender but i can do with just one slice. But they were being generous, can't complain. The chicken, chunky pieces, and comes with a lot. Batter was light. We also got a curry dish for the table to try, cause, why not? The sauce was a bit thick, and not warm enough. I'd prefer it a little hotter. But overall, if you have a craving for soup in a foreign location, maybe this is a spot to try.

Yesss, a ramen place!!! My friend and I wanted ramen because a. It's delicious and b. It's getting chilly out. We got this recommendation through some Japanese classmates, so we thought it had to be good! We got there about an hour after opening (9:30pm), and there was a line. We waited maybe for about 30 minutes so it wasn't terrible. We also chose to sit at a bar..that may have helped. The variety isn't the most vast, but they have a vegetarian miso one! There are three portion sizes that are fairly priced. What we didn't get were any starters bc they didn't seem worth it. For example, an edamame was about 4€.... Anywho! My friend and I got the miso and it was yums and flavorful. My egg was cooked great, but my friends egg was over done. The pork (2 pieces) were pretty fatty. And I thought the noodles were cooked well. Overall, we're ready to go back! Nom nom nom. Ps: Kinda neat but also kinda gross..they have free hair ties for ladies. The downfall? They're reused ones. So hmm..yeah, up to you!

One of the first nights in Madrid my wife and I walked past this restaurant. There was a line out the door that went back pretty far so we thought this place must be good right? We looked it up and saw the reviews and decided to go the next day when it opened. 1pm and there was a line formed just waiting to get in. Let me just say this place was worth the wait. Get there early because this place is packed especially on the weekend. I got the tonkatsu miso ramen and it was hands down one of the best ramens I've ever had. Who knew it would be in Spain of all places! I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.
