Saw this place nearby our air bnb and decided to check it out. We ordered some of their mixed sushi and wow it did not disappoint. My favorite was the salmon nigiri and the California roll. The fish was fresh and melts in your mouth. The ramen was average but definitely get the sushi. Fast service and friendly staff but be aware that they do open late.

The best ramen I've had anywhere. With the possible exception of the Noodle Tree in San Antonio, TX. Ramen BCN was a few blocks from our hotel and we walked by after deciding not to stand in the 2 hour line at Ramen-Ya-Hiro down the street. Why oh why isn't this place more popular? The Miso broth was absolute perfection. Bold, slightly thick and rich but not overly salty which is a big no no for me. There was a generous amount of toppings and the pork was tender and flavorful. It was the biggest piece of pork I've had in a bowl of ramen. The noodles were thick but not heavy. Layer after layer was constructed with care and I didn't want it end. I was impressed with how much was in the bowl and at €9.50 it was an excellent value. Service was friendly and our waiter spoke a little bit of English which was a big plus. I'm glad this place is close to our hotel as it merits a return visit or two before we leave.

Really wanted to try Ramen-ya Hiro but it didn't open until 8:30pm. Man, they really do eat late here in Barcelona. Ramen BCN was close by and had just opened for dinner service. It's owned and operated by Chinese folks. Nothing wrong with that, most of the ones in San Francisco Bay Area are as well. But it does lose some authenticity IMO. I ordered the 3pc takoyaki, chicken karaage, and miso ramen. Wanted to keep it lite, jk. Everything was just ok. Nothing outstanding. Filling and hits the spot. Of course when you're on vacation, you want to be wowed. Just as well, after I ate, I walked to Ramen-ya Hiro and it was closed for Holy Week anyways.

    Great mural on the wall!

But if to that we also add how good the ramen, onigiri and gyoza were, it just makes it a perfect meal. There's this dessert that is shaped and decorated as one of the Dragon Balls, and I truly regret not ordering one of those! But it also makes as an excuse to go back and have it! Would I repeat?: KAME HAME YAS!!

It's tart and the texture was really smooth and delish and for the spicy ramen. So in total Mutenroshi is a solid 4 stars. My party of three ordered two Songoku courses which included a main course (appetizer) and ramen for 9.90 euros. Phil ordered the chicken curry gyoza( supplement 1.50 euros) and the beef ramen for his meal. I ordered the vegetables gyoza and spicy ramen for my meal and candice ordered the mini wagyu burger (3.90 euros). The gyozas were decent and it came three gyozas in an order. No complaints there for the gyozas. The mini wagyu burger was really tiny in size, almost like a slider and we felt that it was not worth the 3.90. We're not too sure if it was in fact wagyu beef at all actually so give it a shot if you want to try it but this burger will not fill you up. We felt that the beef ramen was lacking flavor so there wasn't anything special about that particular ramen however I recommend ordering the spicy ramen; the broth tasted much more flavorful. The ramen noodles were solid in texture and the toppings such as the nori, egg, bean sprouts, green onions and chashu were all good :) As you may have noticed, they really take the dragon ball theme here seriously. It's a cute ramen restaurant and I enjoyed that even when it was themed, the ramen did not lack in quality. Overall this ramen shop is worth a try given that it's one of the few ramen shops in Barcelona that serves at least decent ramen. Thumbs up!

I arrived for a late lunch (according to American standards, of course, as it was probably perfect timing for the rest of the Spaniards in the restaurant) and was quickly seated. I had gotten my filling of tapas during my stay in Barcelona and needed a bit of palate cleanser with a hearty, flavorful bao filled with meat -- a bit like an Asian taco, if you will. I stood firm in my order despite it feeling like heresy as "ramen" is in the name of the restaurant and a quick look around me revealed that most of the tables were definitely enjoying their ramen. Still, with things like pad thai and kimchi on the menu, I felt like I had permission to indulge in my cravings. I dug into a starter of some chicken karaage (Japanese fried chicken) that came with some homemade teriyaki sauce on the side. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the teriyaki sauce complemented its flavor instead of being too overwhelming. But the order did seem a bit on the pricier side at €7.50, which is basically the same price as one of the baos, so I think I would've ordered an extra one instead. As for the baos, I got three: the pork, the chicken, and the shrimp. They all tasted very similar to each other -- the pickled cucumber and carrot on the pork and the sauces on the shrimp did most of the heavy lifting, so I barely tasted the difference in meat. There are other places that ofter this bao delicacy in Barcelona (my reco would be Boa Bao) so come to Koku Kitchen for the ramen and gyoza instead. I did appreciate the decor of the place, especially the flower placed in a brown apothecary-esque bottle and the dim, hip vibes of the bathroom.

Well I was curious to see how good or bad ramen place would be in Spain. Well curiosity killed the cat and my wallet for wasting my money . Restaurant was packed. I thought we would wait but was asked to follow one of the staff. Went downstairs and saw another dining room which was cool. Also packed with people so I was little excited to taste the food. Ordered angry chicken bao.. Don't know why it was angry because it wasn't spicy at all. Took a bite and was trying to figure out what the sauce was.. Little taste of peanut. Bao was alright but not worth the money for how much it cost for one. Then got the pork gyoza. Not bad, not much flavor but wasn't horrible. Then the main dish I ordered spicy miso ramen and pad Thai.. Why I ordered pad Thai at Japanese restaurant in Spain? I have no idea. Presentation of ramen was good. Tasted the broth and I was confused because it tasted sweet and lacked in miso flavor and no spice what so ever. Ramen was cooked little al dente. Employee was nice enough to offer chilli.. So added about 4 spoonful and tasted little better. Over all the ramen was pure disappointment, probably the worst ramen I ate at a restaurant. Then the pad Thai.. Tiny little bowl only with shrimp cut in half on top. I thought I was disappointed with ramen but man... This dish was utter failure.. No way anything near pad Thai flavor. It tasted like egg fried noodle with shrimp on top. It lacked in so much flavor. So dinner was pretty sad.. I could not recommend this place to anyone.. And holy smoke 5.50 for side of kimchee.. What the heck.. Can't wait to tell my mom how much they were charging for side of kimchee...
