Vegetarian ramen
Arshi K.

Was feeling a little under the weather from all the constant traveling and felt like Ramen would fix that. Came to this place for quick late lunch and boy it did not disappoint. Easily one of the best vegetarian Ramen I have tried in my life! For vegetarians, order: Miso Vegetarian Ramen. Just do it. It's so flavorful and delicious. It was so different that it made me wonder if we get fake Ramen in the US (lol). It's the real deal! The place is much smaller than it appears in photos so it's very homey and cozy. The servers did not speak english but understood my order well. The service was also very friendly and attentive.

Some of the best broth I've ever had. This restaurant stunned me with how quality the service and food were. Grasshopper is a very unassuming little shop, with only bar space and some coat hooks on the wall. If there are a lot of people, you wait outside until there is space. The menu has only ramen and sides (you know it's gonna be good when they don't bother adding other types of dishes as main courses). There are options for vegetarians, and I'm sure those are delicious as well. My brother and i started with the seaweed salad and pork gyoza, and both ordered spicy miso as our main. The seaweed salad tasted more fresh than what i can get in America, and the pork gyoza was stuffed with so much pork on the inside, so it's a good deal considering how much meat you get. The ramen was PHENOMENAL. Egg was cooked to perfection, lots of noodles, a new kind of seaweed salad was placed on top. Totaled up to just over 30$ for two people with 2 appetizers, still water, and 2 ramens. I hope to return very soon! I will be dreaming about this place :)

My husband and I stumbled upon this place one evening while strolling along and discussing where we should eat. Though it was humid outside, we both decided to go in and give this place a shot. We both loved the ramen we ordered. The sake we ordered was so smooth we went back to the States looking for it, but have not found it since :( If you are looking for Ramen in Barcelona, definitely check this place out!

We came here for a late night ramen craving and was sooooo disappointed. There was no wait and it had bar seating arrangement. I ordered the spicy miso and carne gyoza. The spicy miso was super salty and was not spicy at all. Nothing special about the ramen. The gyoza was cold when it came out. Definitely not coming back.

Odd name for a ramen joint to say at the least. Maybe it's a Kung Fu reference, which does not make sense. I had mixed feelings about the ramen. We ordered the shio and miso ramen and thought both broth tasted bland. I preferred miso over the shio. There was nothing wrong with the noodles. The pork slices were small and fatty. The overall portions were good and the price was cheap, but unfortunately the ramen is all about the broth and the noodles, if one or the other is not fantastic then the experience will not be a complete one. There are only bar seats and it's fairly small. The service was quick and efficient.

This shop really had the feel of a ramen shop in japan! Loved the bar seats and tight space. Only two people working but very efficient with not too long of a food wait time. Nice staff. I had ordered the eggplant donburi. I didn't expect the eggplant to be fried and it was a little on the salty side but the different textures in this bowl were interesting. My husband also got a bowl of ramen that he said was pretty good.

I went there specifically for Ramen. Although the entrance is in the middle of the placa it's not that easily spot able. I was lucky enough to get the last spot at the bar (actually there is nothing else than a bar ;)). The Ramen was good, but compared to the Ramen I knew the taste was too light. I also ate only 1/4 of my pork meat as 3/4 were fat, too bad. Good choice if you are around but not the best in town for sure!

Perfectly cooked eggs and a nice craft beer to wash it all down.

I arrived for a late lunch (according to American standards, of course, as it was probably perfect timing for the rest of the Spaniards in the restaurant) and was quickly seated. I had gotten my filling of tapas during my stay in Barcelona and needed a bit of palate cleanser with a hearty, flavorful bao filled with meat -- a bit like an Asian taco, if you will. I stood firm in my order despite it feeling like heresy as "ramen" is in the name of the restaurant and a quick look around me revealed that most of the tables were definitely enjoying their ramen. Still, with things like pad thai and kimchi on the menu, I felt like I had permission to indulge in my cravings. I dug into a starter of some chicken karaage (Japanese fried chicken) that came with some homemade teriyaki sauce on the side. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the teriyaki sauce complemented its flavor instead of being too overwhelming. But the order did seem a bit on the pricier side at €7.50, which is basically the same price as one of the baos, so I think I would've ordered an extra one instead. As for the baos, I got three: the pork, the chicken, and the shrimp. They all tasted very similar to each other -- the pickled cucumber and carrot on the pork and the sauces on the shrimp did most of the heavy lifting, so I barely tasted the difference in meat. There are other places that ofter this bao delicacy in Barcelona (my reco would be Boa Bao) so come to Koku Kitchen for the ramen and gyoza instead. I did appreciate the decor of the place, especially the flower placed in a brown apothecary-esque bottle and the dim, hip vibes of the bathroom.

Well curiosity killed the cat and my wallet for wasting my money . Restaurant was packed. I thought we would wait but was asked to follow one of the staff. Went downstairs and saw another dining room which was cool. Also packed with people so I was little excited to taste the food. Ordered angry chicken bao.. Don't know why it was angry because it wasn't spicy at all. Took a bite and was trying to figure out what the sauce was.. Little taste of peanut. Bao was alright but not worth the money for how much it cost for one. Then got the pork gyoza. Not bad, not much flavor but wasn't horrible. Then the main dish I ordered spicy miso ramen and pad Thai.. Why I ordered pad Thai at Japanese restaurant in Spain? I have no idea. Presentation of ramen was good. Tasted the broth and I was confused because it tasted sweet and lacked in miso flavor and no spice what so ever. Ramen was cooked little al dente. Employee was nice enough to offer chilli.. So added about 4 spoonful and tasted little better. Over all the ramen was pure disappointment, probably the worst ramen I ate at a restaurant. Then the pad Thai.. Tiny little bowl only with shrimp cut in half on top. I thought I was disappointed with ramen but man... This dish was utter failure.. No way anything near pad Thai flavor. It tasted like egg fried noodle with shrimp on top. It lacked in so much flavor. So dinner was pretty sad.. I could not recommend this place to anyone.. And holy smoke 5.50 for side of kimchee.. What the heck.. Can't wait to tell my mom how much they were charging for side of kimchee...

They could benefit from a bit more banana or fresh fruit to balance out the stack, especially given the size of the dish. The English breakfast was excellent, well-cooked and satisfying, and the side of chorizo stood out as particularly flavorful. Coffee was genuinely perfect, easily one of the highlights of the meal. The overall vibe is a classic European café style, relaxed and comfortable, good for a casual sit-down breakfast or brunch. One important note: this is not a place for traditional Spanish food. If you are looking for local Catalan or Spanish breakfast or tapas, this will feel more international than authentic. Overall, strong for coffee and comfort food, but not aligned with a traditional Barcelona culinary experience.good service and free WiFi

The seating space was small and there was one staff behind the bar and the other staff serving all the tables so service took a bit but our server was helpful and as attentive as possible considering he was covering the entire restaurant. We both got brunch cocktails and caffeine and really enjoyed our leisurely Barcelona Brunch. I'd definitely come back and try something else.
