I cannot believe the experience I just had here. My family has been bringing cars here for generations. I came back here, because he had fixed a vague noise issue in my car in a timely and professional manner. He knew exactly what it was, I was so relieved, and it was fixed. So, when the problem happened again, I called ahead to get in the books to drop it off. We are a one car family right now. We have a young child. It is very difficult to find time to drop our car off for an unknown amount of time, so I planned it during a family visit when we would have support. I expect things to take time. Since he was so great in the past, I expected the same level of service. I walked in for my appointment, and it was very clear from the get-go that I was not welcome. I was berated and belittled for having the audacity to bring my car into him (with an appointment, no less). The line of questioning was accusatory and spiteful, essentially calling me an idiot for not going to the shop who gave me new tires and not fixing it immediately. Again, we are a one car family with a young child, so it is very difficult to coordinate a time to be without our car. He was incredibly rude and cruel to a degree that I left in tears. I do not know why he was so unwilling to work on my car. I do not know why he chose to behave the way he did and treat me like that. It was so unbelievable that I needed to defend myself and explain my personal situation, only to be met with dismissive retorts and insults. I am in shock about the way I was treated for simply bringing my car in for an appointment with a mechanic that I trusted. It's truly a shame, and generations of patronage will be ending today. read more

I got caught in a pinch. I had to get rushed out to Korea to rescue some POWs that were about to be terminated but my jeep wasn't ready for the terrain. Before he passes Colonel Trautman would always say how much he like this place so I came here. I explained to Rambo the severity of the situation and of course after coming full circle he understood. We stopped for gas. There are two pump areas - one marked "full service" and one marked "self-service". When I pulled up by the one marked full service, I was not sure that it really meant someone would come out and pump the gas for me, so I pulled into the self service side. Sure enough, that was exactly what it meant! A nice woman came out and asked me if I needed help using the pump - they were old fashioned and work differently than the new ones. I knew how to do it, but we chatted awhile. She told me to come in and pay when I was done. When I went in the owner told me he went independent about 27 years ago and also makes car repairs. He was very kind and it was nice to support a local business owner. read more

Used to be a great place. My family has lived here for 3 generations. I stopped in to borrow, rent, or buy a tool bc my car was just down the road and my tools weren't available. Owner said he doesn't rent. I said that I understood. His mechanic was trying to help me, but I was dismissed from the property and insulted for not coming in often then called me a bum. A bum doesn't have cash in hand. Small town dude. Remember customer service matters. Word spreads. The mechanics are great so go see them if you're in a bind, but the owner needs a new attitude. Deserves 0 stars! This is the worst service I have ever received. As two women stranded in fairhope from MS and FL, we received NO southern hospitality at all. The attendant was rude at best if not downright nasty! He allowed our conversation to be interrupted several times by other good ole boys. He also told us there was only 1 tow service in town which we found to be untrue! Needless to say we took our business elsewhere and suggest you do the same! read more

The service we received from Rambo's was outstanding. Our son was traveling during spring break and experienced car trouble while in Fairhope. The staff was courteous, prompt in diagnosing the problem, and quick to facilitate the repairs. He was back on the road in short order and arrived back at university with no further problems. I would recommend them to anyone needing repairs in the Fairhope area. read more

This place is awesome! I was visiting my parents in Fairhope and had a rental car with a low tire pressure light. They checked everything out, added some air and didn't charge me a dime. My family always goes to them with any car issues because they are honest and very good at their jobs. Everyone should support a local, family business like this one. read more
