They are very helpful with any question you my have about the area or property itself. In the main office they have board games you can borrow (for rainy afternoons). They also will let you borrow beach chairs, towels, floaties, shovel/pails for the kids. The apartment is super clean and they have thoughtfully provided everything you can think of for the kitchen (towels,coffee filters, plates, wine glasses, spatulas, dish soap, sponge, etc). There are washer/dryers on the property, too. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of closet and drawer space for our stuff! The property is well situated on treasure island. We literally crossed the street and walked 3 minutes to the public access of the beach which is conveniently empty (there's no parking spaces for cars)!! A huge Publix is about 2 blocks away. We cannot wait to come back here!!

We checked in on Thurs., Dec. 10th and stayed until Tues., Dec. 15th, coming into the Tampa area to witness and celebrate our daughter's graduation from USF. To begin with, checking in was a breeze, the grounds are incredibly clean and well-kept. The tropical foliage, palm trees and landscaping create this Utopian effect and you feel, well...relaxed. The resort houses approx. 35 - 45 condo-style units that give you a far better value than some of the competing hotels. I completely spaced taking pics of the interior while there but I can describe it as being fully furnished with stainless steel appliances, a breakfast dining area, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and approx. 1000 sq ft. The master bdr features one of the most comfortable king size beds I've ever slept on and I woke up each morning, feeling entirely refreshed. I'm gonna need to know the brand and style of mattress that was, when you read this, Westwinds! The place was super clean, fully stocked with a variety of towels, spacious and had a nice layout to it. The wildlife surrounding the resort were also quite the sight to see, as were the multiple dolphin sightings at the rear of the resort. The pool was crystal clear, heated and very clean. The only issues we encountered were very minor and weigh nominally on this review. Our shower head seemed to have a mind of it's own by spraying multiple directions due to some hard water build up in the shower head jets. When I adjusted the water flow to a more powerful stream, it worked fine and I just had to adapt to a thinner, high-pressure stream. The other notable issue that may also require 10 mins of attention by the maintenance tech, would be to adjust or replace the toilet lever. In order to accomplish a full flush, the handle had to be held down for approx. 3 - 4 seconds, rather than a press and release. Lastly, in the front guest bedroom, the ceiling fan was off-camber and made a significant humming noise, no matter the speed. Once again...minor issues. The service provided to my family and I, by Leslie, was nothing short of wonderful. Leslie is the main property manager and seems to do it all on the grounds. She was awesome. So awesome, as a matter of fact, we took her down some homemade taco soup, prepared by my wife the evening before. We felt genuinely welcomed and valued the entire time we stayed. We will be back and we will be staying at Westwinds once more. This place was great!!! Thank you! SCORE: 4.5 STARS!!

The manager was on duty at the time and insured of sling about the free ones we just assumed they meant some the pool and were misled. I would have expected to be told that they had free ones behind the door though. The other, we made our reservation through a third party and when we went to extend by one day we were quoted by the third party a price well over $300 for the one night. We should have called direct or asked about it when we checked in and the second cleaning fee would have been removed to make it more feasible. The view, the cleanliness (cleanest old place I've ever stayed) of the rooms and the entire property was impressive, the pool was warm and sparkling. Our bed was super comfiest and the furniture in the front room cozy. There is a full kitchen and our room had a mishmash of kitchenware but it did the trick. The only other issue that we ran into was the distance to the beach and how far it would be to use a restroom. The condo does have one for outdoor use with a code so other's can't use it but it's far if you're older or have an issue walking... we stayed by the pool. The location is perfect for restaurants and John's Pass. The bus picks up across the street on one side and less than a block either way on the same side of the road. We'd love to stay there again.

I made the mistake of looking at just the Web site and not reading all the reviews. I expected a…read morecharming older motel. Instead, when I arrived about 9 pm on Dec 22, there were no cars there. Further, the manager-only parking spot was empty and no lights were on in the office. As you can see from other reviews, there is no management on-site, and making contact can be a problem. The room was clean but spartan. I was in unit 11. When I ended my reservation the next morning, via phone as indicated on the vacant office door, I did not get a person, I got voice mail. As you can see in the other reviews, others have had this problem or worse. The only response was an email the next day, telling me it was part of the terms and conditions to not give a refund once I had started the stay. In that email, Sarah asked what was wrong and I detailed my concerns. One final observation: as part of checkout, they ask that you put your trash in the garbage bins outside the motel. When I did that on the morning of Dec 23, a Saturday, I found all the bins were empty. There were no other cars in the parking lot that morning. Fortunately, I found a vastly better place for the rest of our stay in St Petersburg, and I'll be much more careful to read reviews in the future.

The sky lounge is great place to watch the sunset or have a drink with a friend. The pool and hot tub are always clean and they don't skimp on the heater! We also joined the boat club at The marina accross the street so we just walk over to grab a boat. also, no need for a gym membership.....the gym is well stocked with everything and there is a separate yoga studio with a gorgeous view of the pool. There are several common areas around the property that are beautifully decorated and comfortable for hanging out or watching a game by the pool. the package room is equipped with lockers that have to be accessed with a code so no worries about having your packages stolen. The covered assigned parking is also a plus. The staff is awesome! Yvette, AJ, Megan and Erica are so friendly and helpful. They plan activities and get togethers all the time. From movie nights at the pool to champagne toasts at sunset in the sky lounge or resident holiday parties. The maintenance staff are always on property working on projects. They are very prompt at addressing any issues. I know all of them by name and feel totally comfortable having them in the apartment when I'm not home if anything needs to be addressed. Last but not least Location location location. So close to the beach,downtown St Pete, Gulfport,and the Pinelas bike trail. I love riding my bike everywhere and you can literally walk to Publix. It's safe and 34th Street seems to be up and coming. Lots of new things....restaurants shops etc. we feel completely comfortable and at home here.
