There is a tour guide at specified times in the day, that will take you through the hotel to discuss the historical perspective. It is REALLY interesting and it's a must! The hotel is just steps away from Clearwater Beach, therefore you have easy access. There are also nearby activities such as The Clearwater Marine Aquarium, which we love. If you're looking for 3 nights of uninterrupted sleep, I would strongly recommend booking elsewhere. If you're looking for a front desk that seems largely indifferent after multiple complaints about noise, this may be the place for you. If slow internet is high on your wish list, you'll feel right at home. One of the biggest challenges was the noise. This is an older property, and sound travels easily between rooms and common areas. During both nights of my stay, wedding related events were taking place on site. On one evening, the noise continued past 11:00 p.m. directly beneath my room and made it extremely difficult to sleep when I had to be up very early the next morning. When I contacted the front desk, I was informed that they were unsure when the event would conclude but would ask guests to keep the noise down. While I appreciated the effort, the disturbance continued for quite some time. To make matters worse, I got very little sleep during my stay due to a combination of wedding noise, loud guests, and children running around above my room sounding as though they were jumping off furniture. One of the wedding groups was openly drinking in an area where alcohol was apparently not permitted, while music and noise continued well into the evening. I made multiple complaints, and while I was told staff spoke with those involved, nothing meaningfully changed. Guests who are sensitive to noise or need a quiet environment should absolutely keep this in mind before booking. Housekeeping was another area where my experience fell short of expectations. I spoke with 2 different employees and requested that my room be serviced later in the day due to my schedule. Both assured me it would be handled. However, when I returned that evening, the room had not been cleaned. The trash had accumulated, I was out of fresh towels, and I had to contact the front desk multiple times before reaching someone. After a long day away from the property, this irritated me. I also felt the property was marketed in a misleading way. The booking photos make it appear as though you're staying at a large historic waterfront resort. In reality, a real estate developer has built numerous Florida-style condominiums and oddly placed residential homes throughout the surrounding property. Much of this development is conveniently omitted from the booking photos. While the hotel building itself is beautiful, the actual setting is far different from what is portrayed online. The surrounding condos and residential buildings significantly diminish the historic atmosphere, and I found the marketing misleading. The room itself was comfortable enough, but I did notice a few cleanliness concerns upon arrival, including crumbs and areas that appeared to have been overlooked during preparation for check-in. It's also worth noting that this is not a full-service hotel. Dining options on-site and nearby are somewhat limited. There is a small coffee bar, and guests receive a breakfast basket with items such as croissants and fruit, but there is no room service and only limited food service available. The property has a lot of visual appeal and potential, but the combination of noise issues, inconsistent housekeeping, slow internet, limited responsiveness, and unmet expectations regarding the overall experience left me upset. Having worked with professionals in the hospitality industry for many years, I can honestly say this was one of the poorest guest experiences I have ever encountered. A good night's sleep is one of the most important parts of any hotel stay, and that was not my experience here. It's a real shame that this property wasn't preserved in a way that honored its historic character. Instead, much of that character has been overshadowed by the surrounding development, which takes away from what could have been a beautiful landmark. Personally, I wouldn't say here again. On Thursday May 15th, and Friday May 16th 2025, we had breakfast: the choices were eggs scrambled, a chocolate muffin, yogurts, cereal, and a lot of southern favorites like grits. For some reason i didn't like the choices, there is a pancake machine, but felt like the pancakes tasted different and personally didn't like them. Although kudos to them for having a pancake machine and Froot Loop Cereal. Pretty much my breakfast was a chocolate chip muffin, froot loops, and a cherry yogurt with coffee each day we had breakfast. Also doesn't help that i am not an egg kind of person. My husband and I went for a quick honeymoon getaway, just 2 nights of our Florida trip because our room was booked over the weekend. There was plenty of parking in front of the hotel which was perfect because we didn't need our car in Dunedin. Check-in was seamless and the communication with the front desk was excellent. We stayed in the Zen Suite which has a patio facing the street. There is a lovely wine bar with live music across the street. Both nights we sat outside and enjoyed the music but do visit Stirling Wine (I reviewed them as well, great crowd). The Zen Suite is so comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. Anything you need is already in the room including dishes, flatware, refrigerator, iron, blow dryer and robes. It was easy to relax. The king bed was very comfortable. We found everything in the room easy to operate - TV, AC, door locks. We also enjoyed the pool area. The pool wasn't heated so it was too cold for me but my husband enjoyed it. I relaxed on a lounge chair with an umbrella. We also took advantage of the breakfast promo with the red next door which was very convenient. Overall 10/10 doesn't cut it. We cannot wait to visit again and will stay at least 3 nights!

We also loved exploring local restaurants, with Clear Sky Café, Cesare at the Beach, and Columbia being some of our favorites. Robert at Cesare and Columbia was especially fantastic. The spa was another highlight, particularly the prenatal massage experience with Shannon and the couples massages we enjoyed with Jessica. The staff was wonderful and the spa was relaxing and intimate. There were, however, some disappointing aspects. Housekeeping was inconsistent, and there were several issues with the room, including the refrigerator placement, small safe, and shower door. We also felt the beach umbrellas should be included rather than an additional charge. Our biggest frustration was with the front desk and check-out process, particularly how some of our concerns and billing issues were initially handled. It took far too long to get everything sorted out, which was frustrating, especially at the end of an otherwise enjoyable stay. That said, I spoke directly with the General Manager about our experience, and I really appreciated how quickly he responded to my complaint and stepped in to help address the overall issue. His willingness to listen and make things right made a significant difference. Despite the areas that need improvement, we truly enjoyed our stay and are grateful we chose Sandpearl for such a special milestone. The resort has a beautiful setting and an incredible number of genuinely wonderful employees. With some improvements to housekeeping, front-desk communication, and overall service recovery, I believe Sandpearl has everything it needs to be an exceptional resort. The hotel itself is beautiful and centrally located on Clearwater Beach with just a short walk across the street to the beach. We booked two suites , a 2 queen private rooftop terrace suite with a full kitchen and a poolside king suite with a kitchenette which were spacious and perfect for our large gathering. The rooftop terrace was definitely a highlight, and the hotel is within walking distance to restaurants, the pier, playgrounds, and shops. I also liked that the pool is on the 8th floor with a great view and access limited to hotel guests only. Pool chairs were very comfortable, towels were unlimited with no towel card system, and beach cabana/umbrella rentals were half off for guests. The hot tub being on the 16th floor separate from the pool didn't make much sense though. Room service was daily, and I appreciated being able to text the front desk instead of calling. I highly recommend using the text feature and keeping everything in writing because there were discrepancies regarding credits we were promised. There were unfortunately several maintenance and service issues during our stay. The living room TV constantly glitched and wouldn't sync properly even after maintenance attempted to fix it. More importantly, the AC completely stopped working in the rooftop terrace suite for hours while we hosted about 25 guests for the graduation party. Everyone was hot and sweaty in almost 100-degree indoor conditions. Thankfully the terrace breeze helped, but being offered only a $100 credit for such a major issue during a once-in-a-lifetime celebration felt insufficient! The parking garage situation was also frustrating. We were told our vehicles could enter and exit freely with the resort fee, but every time we tried leaving, the room keys and garage passes failed. We repeatedly went back to front desk to get new passes and had to pay $40 to exit then contact customer service afterward for refunds such a waste of vacation time Customer service overall was very hit or miss. Some employees were wonderful while others seemed miserable and unfriendly. The onsite coffee shop was particularly disappointing I'd recommend walking across the street from The front lobby to the real Starbucks instead. At times it felt like the hotel relies heavily on its excellent location and beach proximity rather than consistent service standards.Coming from previous stays at Sandpearl Resort, I personally would still choose Sandpearl for smaller family vacations. However, I will say this hotel offers more flexibility for large gatherings and easier garage access compared to Sandpearl's valet-only setup. That said, between the AC outage, power issues in BOTH suites floor 8 and 17, lukewarm water, TV problems, phone problems, garage charges, and inconsistent customer service, I would probably try another Clearwater Beach hotel next time. The morning is beautiful with the sun glistening over the water , the birds chirping, and the music playing over the speakers. Not only do I love the environment but I really love the food, good food will always bring good company. I had a wonderful lunch right on the deck overlooking the water and it was so relaxing to eat on the sun on a cool day. They have a lot to do at this beach resort and offer fun water sports as well.
