I am writing to share feedback regarding my recent stay 2.12-2.16 at this property. As a Platinum Bonvoy member who utilized points for this visit, I had a stay that was highlighted by exceptional service but unfortunately marred by some smoking that was happening in our hallway to room.. I wanted to leave 5 stars... But couldn't I want to start by recognizing the phenomenal staff members who made a positive impact. Brendan at the front desk provided a wonderful check-in experience. Randy in the Mainstays Tavern took VIP-like care of us every time we visited, as did Lexi during our dinner. Jordan out folding all the pool towels. David maybe giving rides via golf cart to beach - very nice and appreciated. I also want to thank staff for the thoughtful birthday note and the "sun and fun" package waiting in our room. Additionally, Debra was incredibly kind when we stopped in for breakfast!! However, I found the digital portal communication to be less than desirable. I had to report a smoking violation at least four times. I also reported guests using the hot tub after hours due to the noise while I was trying to get my family to bed. While I did speak with the front desk night manager, who was apologetic regarding these repeated nuisances, I left feeling that my value as a loyal guest was not fully recognized. I appreciate the high level of service provided by your hospitality team and hope this feedback helps improve the response consistency for future stays. Wish I could give it 3.5 stars. We really wanted direct beach access which was the absolute best part, especially with the free golf cart rides to get down to the beach. There was just too many things that left us disappointed on our first trip here. There are 2 EV charging spots which was a lifesaver this trip and being a trolley stop was absolutely amazing for getting over the bridge into Clearwater Beach stress free. We saw pictures of a tennis and pickleball court online but those have been demolished and replaced by a grassy area :(. Thankfully sand bay tennis park is less than a mile away and the trolley does stop there. 3 volleyball courts which were great and sunsets 10/10! The Easter Egg hunt was a fun and unexpected treat for the kids :) well organized. I checked in early on the app, knowing it was a holiday weekend and there may not be rooms available early. We were able to pick up wristbands right away but we later found out these were not watched or enforced anywhere. In fact, you do not even need a key to enter the building from the pool/beach. I believe this added to the insane crowding at the pool. Could not find a pool chair at ALL - very stressful and had to set our belongings on the ground in order to swim. They could not keep up with the towels either and by 3-4PM, you could not get one at all. The pool bar had short hours and the line was insanely long every day. The pool bar shared the same line as ordering the food truck food which added to that chaos as well. On Friday the food truck shut down early as well. There was one water dispenser in the lobby but it was always empty. I felt like a bother asking the mainstay tavern for water. The food there was very good and we ordered to go. The gym was amazing 10/10. The beds were AWFUL 0/10 they are on a platform with absolute no give at all - ROCK hard!!! Had to walk across the street to the other Marriott location to get espresso coffee. The extra charges are too much - says $30/night to park but after taxes and fees it is $35 a night and $25 a night for the resort fee which doesn't cover anything but bikes as the trolley is already free. It is $45 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella at the beach. The resort fee should offset this cost!!!!! The location is amazing but these extra charges are just too much and our stay left a lot to be desired. I also had a fraud charge immediately following paying for parking even though I used the QR code at the front desk and have not used that credit card for any other purchases - I wish this was charged directly through the hotel instead. We love staying here! It's always clean and the ocean is beautiful! We stayed for just one night, we were upgraded to a gulf view which is beautiful. The drinks were great and the bar tender was nice! The pool was clean and the people who drive the golf cart are friendly and timely. The only thing that wasn't wonderful was the no see ums. This place is a hidden gem, you get the same samd and water that one would get near the Pier and the beach is private to Sheraton so not many people at all. The resort itself is very nice, pool area does get busy. They have a golf cart that can take you from the resort pool area to the beach and back so you dont have to walk. We went during 4th of July weekend so it was fairly busy, they gave out free popsicles by the pool which was much needed. We also got a free dessert voucher for two so that was very nice of the hotel. Our room was ready earlier than expected and we have a partial pool/ocean view which was fine as we had a good amount of shade on our balcony since there was Palm trees right outside. Parking is paid scanning a qr code from a third party. Give this place a chance and I cannot wait to be back read more

Wonderful stay! Initially had a king facing the bayside (basically the parking lot/convention center roof) and we were able to change to two queens with an ocean view on the 7th floor overlooking the pool. Service was always excellent and the rooms are clean and modern. Deon was extremely helpful! Didn't have any problems with noise or rowdy guests. The golf cart ride to the beach was fabulous and we rented the chairs and umbrella for $48 per day. They open at 8am so I suggest going down and securing the front row, put the backs up, leave your towels and come back after breakfast. Hotel gym is pretty good with towels and lots of dumbbells with a few machines and cardio. So the resort fee is $25 a day but I was aware before I arrived and you get a free dessert and WiFi. Parking was $103 for Fri-Mon. Didn't like it but also was aware beforehand. The beach is private so it was way less crowded than it was to our north and south. Ocean was perfect temp mid-June. Lots of families and the pool is not very big and filled with kids but we stayed at the beach. They also have a cart with food and drinks that services the beach called the Turtle Express. Prices were not bad for beachside service - $13 margaritas, $14 sandwiches and salads. We went to Shorty s across the street and used their website to pre order sandwiches we picked up before heading to the beach. My mom and I stayed here for an overnight for her birthday. Upon checking in after our room wasn't ready and we had to wait 30 more minutes until bieng able to go in our room and change. The rooms are newly renovated and very clean and updated. However the whole resort is very old and parking fee is 25 per day; which is not detailed in the Marriott website. The pool is very small, and the hot tub is smaller then normal. Some pros to our stay- Arielle who checked us in was very nice and gave us desert coupons for my mom's birthday. The updated rooms in decor and linen are nice as well. The sunset view this evening from the beach was very peaceful. I don't think I'll be staying here again it's not my mom's vibe; or mine. However if all you like is beach and relaxing this resort is for you!! 7/10. read more

I had THE best time here! I thought I reviewed them before but I guess not. Being familiar with the area, I have driven by many times but the first time I actually stayed there was after a hurricane as it was included in the voucher program with FEMA. I was actually very surprised it was included because it was so nice. Having remembered that, I knew I was going to be in the area and needed a good place to stay on the beach and I went with this hotel again. It's absolutely gorgeous inside. The service has always been wonderful for me and as the best thing, it's nestled on the beach which is my favorite! There is quite a walk to get to the water but I think it's worth it. While it isn't on the strip near the pier, it's still in a good vicinity and there is a shuttle stop there which is helpful. The room was perfect and as part of the resort fee, "free" cookies are included which I'll never say no to. Those were delicious as well! My wife and I stayed for eight nights and were disappointed to learn that, in addition to the room rate and resort fee, guests are also charged $30 per night for parking in the Sheraton parking lot. When we questioned the additional fee, we were told, "All the other hotels are doing it," which is NOT a satisfactory explanation. To make matters worse, many of the front-row parking spaces closest to the building were blocked off with cones, preventing guests from using them. When we asked the front desk staff why the spaces were unavailable, the response was simply, "I don't know." Unfortunately, these experiences left us feeling underappreciated as returning guests. This was our fourth stay at the Sheraton in Sand Key, but based on this experience, it will likely be our last. read more

Had a great time here. The location is phenomenal and the staff is very courteous and guest friendly.. I asked on the app if we could get extra pillows and towles because I was with 2 kids and the didn't fail to provide.. they gave us like 8 pillows per bed and a whole extra 2 sets of towels .. the beach staff was amazing.. the have a 3 rowed golf cart that takes you out to the beach(otherwise, it's a short walk but very doable!!) .. then you get dropped off at the Tiki hut where you can rent chairs and beach toys.. The beach staff Moe, Wes and Austin were awesome and super friendly.. good food at the food truck too.. we had an amazing time and can't thank the staff enough.. amazing job from start to end of our trip.. thanks All!! We have a bi-annual conference here and have been coming here every other year for over 20 years. Great location and services.....walk out the back door to the pool area and beach. Large hot tub, with room for 10-12+ easily, always a perfect temp! Wet clean hotel for the number of people and activities always going on. read more

We recently stayed at this beautiful property....went to check in and they did not want me to wait for my room and were very apologetic and upgraded the location of our room which was very nice..staff is absolutely wonderful and friendly at this property...they have a gym, a Pub,Restaurant in site and. Food truck by the pool so you can grab food while enjoying the beach and pool...They also have. AGilf Cart to take you to the shore of the beach which is right in front of the property.. they have a store inside that sells Starbucks Coffee. They have a nice Fire pit at night too, a Tiki bar where you can drink a cocktail and also watch the beautiful sunset The rooms have. A safe, Coffee makers well..the room was spacious and very nice, the reason for the 3 experience was the horrible bed....it was the worst bed I have ever slept in and so uncomfortable we only stayed the one night instead of two because it was so bad ..we went home early which was really disappointing, asked desk for something for the beds and they said they did not have anything. The location and everything here was wonderful,other than the beds ..they do charge a resort fee which gives you bike usage, trolley ride, they also charge for parking, 25.00 a night ours was waived due to handicap...I really hate that properties charge you to park your car, it is ridiculous and most do it,again the experience here was excellent other than the beds..I cannot do a 5 which like I said the property was beautiful and the location is perfect with Columbia Restaurant right across the street and shopping too... read more

This is a fabulous resort! The food, drinks and staff are superstar material!! Bobby at the outside bar, was amazing. I don't know how she can serve so many people so fast. I am impressed that Alexandra Banno jumped in to help, which really made getting a drink fast AND delicious, Thank you, Alexandra, for being the kind of manager that every department/resort needs!! So many great people MAKE this a fabulous resort! Alphonso, cart driver, made sure that our rides down to the gulf was safe, comfortable, and smooth. They are also all around nice people! I booked my stay through Trip Advisor, not the Resort, and paid in advance, but was not told at any time there would be a $38.52 overnight parking fee. My room overlooked the roof, but was high enough to see the Bay, as I was on the street side of the Resort. The shower floor was very slippery, causing me to slip and fall, which I did report to the staff. The food at both Restaurants was excellent, but also costly, and there was no Microwave in the room to heat up any take-out. They did have a coffee maker, but TV was terrible with a limited amount of stations. I was able to take the Jolly Trolley for free, and also get free dessert as part of the Resort Fee. The"Hot Tub" was relaxing, before several small children decided to enter with their parents. Late afternoon there was a heavy rain storm, so I spent most of my time in my room, which was on the 5th floor. The best part was the staff, who allowed me an early check-in, and helped me with my parking fee, plus filed an incident report for me for my slip and fall. Would I go back there, that is a definite no, as other nearby hotels have more to offer at a better price. read more

We spent just one night here, and it was a hit and a miss at the same time. The hits: The beach was amazing - soft white sand but beware there are stretches covered in shells so have sandals nearby. The water was calm, warm, and beautifully clear. There was also no crowd by the hotel in mid April I also love food, so when I travel, I do a lot of research on restaurants. This part of our trip was so short (only 1.5 days in Clear Water before heading to Orlando for the kid stuff), so we decided to save time and eat in the hotel or nearby when possible. We ended up eating dinner the first night and breakfast on the second day at Rusty's Bistro. Both were delicious. See my separate tip for Rusty's bistro. In addition, the staff were very nice. From the front desk staff, to the servers at the restaurants, and the housekeeping staff. Everyone was friendly and warm. The cons: The hotel itself was nice and clean, although rooms are on the smaller side. The night we stayed, there were some loud neighboring guests that returned to their room late and made a lot of noise. In addition, they have motion sensor lights in the closets. I'm not sure why, but ours went off multiple times while we were asleep. The closet door has slats, which meant the light shined very brightly into the entire room. By 12:30 AM, we were all awake bc the light was again on. When my husband spoke with the front desk staff, he was told this was a known problem and that the sensors were very sensitive. They ended up giving my husband duct tape and telling him to tape it over the sensors. That was the only way we ended up getting some sleep that night. I'm still confused about why this known issue hadn't been addressed. Why not change out the motion sensor for regular light switches? Also unsure if we just got a room that had an extra sensitive sensor?!?! Don't stay in room 444. We'll definitely be back to Clearwater Beach and would love to return to this hotel. If we do, we'll be sure to pack duct tape and cover the light sensor in the closet before bedtime. read more

ROACH in my room very much alive until I killed it, NO BUENO ! It's a old hotel. They need to invest some of the money they charge into the actual hotel. I left my room to go tell them about the roach the door knob broke! They had to break into my room, replace the door knob! The air-conditioning unit sounds like they're from 1970, the pillows need to be restuffed with feathers ‍ or use foam or alternative stuffing it was like using zero pillows! So extremely uncomfortable the pool is too small for the amount of people that are there. You can't get a chair there's nowhere to lay out sit or swim! The employees were GREAT THE HOTEL NEEDS MAJOR UPGRADE TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND I LIVE IN FLORIDA, FLORIDA 45 MILES AWAY! Will not ever return Bill Mar in treasure island is still better! Mixed review - Been staying here off and on for nearly 10 years but I am afraid this is our last stay here due to 2 new things. 1) - They now charge for parking. Wow - this was a surprise! Where the heck am I going to park if I don't want to pay for parking. There is nowhere else. This should be included in the room price and not be a surprise charge upon check-in. Be sure to know your rental car license plate as well. and, 2) - The thermostat is constantly overridden and raised a degree or two throughout the day and night. I woke up hot on most nights, had to get up, reset thermostat to 70. All the good things are still here. Beach access, nice-ish rooms, nice pool/tiki bar, nearby walkable restaurants (although Backwater has new owners - smaller portions, higher prices but still tasty), friendly/helpful staff, etc. I blame corporate greed for the 3 star rating. read more

We stayed here for a family vacation from a Sunday evening to Thursday morning. We were aware of the construction ahead of time so we mentally prepared for it. Only one of the mornings they started working at 6am. Definitely a little excessive but we knew it might happen. The location is awesome and with beautiful sights of the ocean. The golf kart was there are ready when we needed to go to the beach and come back. It was perfect! We were even able to see a dolphin swimming out near some jet skiers. The staff was friendly and professional and and if we return to Clearwater we would definitely pick this place again. Yes there might be newer hotels around or some that don't have construction being done but we didn't mind since we did our research before hand. I'm not one to give 5 stars but WOW, I'm usually one to find a flaw in something. Coming in to this hotel I already had high expectations, I did thorough research on this hotel and to sum it up quickly this place highly exceeded them! We stayed 5 nights at this place and it was absolutely wonderful. When we arrived, our room was not yet ready but they held on to our baggage and Guy the bell hop even stored our beers in the fridge to keep them cold while we waited for our room to be ready. We had full access to all the amenities while we waited for our room to be ready, and we were called when it was. Guy also told us we can get complimentary water bottles if we just ask at the front desk - inside tip! I believe all rooms have a balcony as we did and the double queen room was decently sized. They only clean the room on every 3rd day of your stay which we did not find an issue. If we needed any additional towels or soaps there was no trouble getting more. In addition, we called about our shower tub not draining properly and they sent up a maintenance worker within 5 minutes of us calling. There is a kiddie pool and big adult pool in the heart of the hotel as well as a hot tub. It was never really crowded and didnt find people all over each other while we were there, everything was well spaced out. There is also a fire pit with Adirondack chairs, hammocks, corn hole, beach volley ball and tennis, as well as tennis courts and pickle ball courts - all free to use the rackets and balls. It is about a quarter mile to the beach which really wasn't that bad, there are also employees operating golf carts to transport people to and from the beach. Down at the beach, you can rent chairs/umbrellas/cabanas for $35/day however, we purchased our own umbrella at Walmart for $9 and got our moneys worth - people even gave us their beach chairs as they were leaving and couldn't take it home with them. For Sunrises, we walked across the street to a public beach to watch the sunrise over Clearwater, it was beautiful. People were also getting there early to get some fishing in! The beach was not crowded at all. The hotel is next to Sand Key Park which I believe is a state park???? Anyway that beach was crowded and packed but the Sheratons private beach was not at all. If you go to the left of the sheratons rentable umbrellas/cabanas/chairs there is basically no one at the beach. The beach was CLEAN and gorgeous. We bought our own goggles and looked for shells. You can also watch the sunset from the hotel's beach as well. The Jolly Trolley is a complimentary free trolley that takes you to downtown clearwater that arrives every 30 minutes. I heard a rumor that they may resume charging for riding the Jolly Trolley but I think when they do it'll be $2.50/ride of $5/day pass. We used the trolley a few times. But just take note, the Trolley gets more crowded at night when everyone wants to return home after the sunset so you might have to wait for the next Trolley due to the limited capacity. We walked a couple times ~25 minute walk from the hotel to the start of downtown clearwater - really not a bad walk distance wise and has an amazing view over the pedestrian friendly bridge. We ate dinner one night at the hotel restaurant, Rustys - a little pricey but decent Italian food. they also serve breakfast in the AM. There is the Mainstay Tavern in the hotel that looked like fun. And the Poolside cafe and Turtle Bar (next to the pool). The drinks at the Turtle Bar were I thought decently priced $7-9 for a frozen drink. Other hotels I've stayed at in FL pool side bar drinks were $10-14! The hotel staff were all friendly, big shout to to GUY!!! Who we said hi to whenever we would see him throughout the day. Another big plus is NO RESORT FEE and NO PARKING FEE. This place was wonderful and had all that you need that you really don't need to leave the resort at all. We walked daily about 1/4 mile down the street to Maggie Mae's for breakfast. Yes, we went every day of our stay. The food was cheap and good. read more

This resort is in a great location on the beach in Clearwater but away from the main sand of Clearwater so it much more quiet and my speed. I love that they are also a trolley stop so you can hop on and off the trolley instead of driving around. The room was clean and we were welcome with a bottle of wine for our anniversary which was nice. I loved being able to sit out on the balcony. The walls were a bit thin (hear the kids next door) but this is also an older hotel so to be expected. I would like to come back with the kids for a beach staycation once it's warmer. read more

We were in Clearwater for my niece's wedding, the Sheraton was the overflow wedding venue. Most of our party stayed at the Sheraton since the hotel was beautiful, on the beach (a few minutes walk) and the service and staff were great. There were several events going on at the same time but service was always great. The restaurant on premises had delicious food and the prices were reasonable. All in all, I would definitely come back to this hotel. read more

If you're a Florida local do yourself a favor and download the app called "Resort Pass" we stayed here just for the day and got a day pass through the app. We were able to use all of the amenities the property had. The walk from the property to the hotel is an awful walk but they have a 6 person golf cart making trips back and forth all day which was amazing. Especially for getting drinks at the tiki bar and not having to walk far after. read more

This is anything but a resort. This sad, almost dilapidated property is In dire need of an upgrade. To call it a resort is unkind to Days Inn. The rooms are tiny, the bathrooms filthy and dated, the restaurants entirely sub-par, and to add to it the staff is indifferent and rude. Having Marriott status means nothing to these people; they treat everyone as if they are doing you a favor, lording over their "resort" name. Save the hassle and check into the Marriott Suites across the road. read more

First time I have traveled in 230 days, and a little disappointed this was my first hotel stay for work. While the location is nice, it is on the beach, the property is dated & needs a serious overhaul! I did have a room with a partial view, which overlooked the pool, but the noise coming from the pool/jacuzzi all night long was pretty awful. Customer service at the front desk was just meh, and as a Titanium for life Marriott member an upgrade WOULD have been nice! Bed was comfy, pillows needed a little more, but I did sleep really well. No amenities in the rooms (water, glasses, etc) because of Covid, though I do believe if you ask they will bring what you need. Also no housekeeping until your 3rd day, IF you stay that long! Nate at the "bar" was a bright spot. He was spot on, personable and amazing! Can't say this will be the property I choose when coming to the area again...... read more

Well it's on the beach- the actual hotel looks nothing like the photos. It's a business class B- hotel at best. No valet, no bellman, no spa and the pool was dirty. While I was there the fitness center was not working. I expected a lot more for the cost- not a good value in my opinion read more

I travel frequently for work and am very particular about my accommodations. I expect first and foremost a very clean and safe establishment. I read many positive reviews on this Resort so I decided to stay there on my way passing through town. I was very pleased with this resort. It met all of my expectations and then some. I only wished I was able to spend only one night there because I absolutely loved this place. I WILL DEF BE BACK SOON! The property is very aesthetically pleasing, great location, and the staff was amazing ( very professional and pleasant). They identified my Titanium Elite status and upgraded me to an 8th floor ocean view room with a balcony. We arrived at approximately 9:30 pm and went to the on-site tavern for a drink and dinner with about 20 minutes to spare before it was scheduled to close and the bartender told us not to worry about feeling rushed that it would be ok for us to take our time and enjoy our food and beverages. Randy, the bartender, made the most amazing Key Lime Martini's. I appreciate that they did not have a resort fee or a parking fee. Regardless, I would still stay there again. The staff here are next level! So good at what they do. Our room was clean and overlooked the gulf. I worked out of their conference room for a week and their technical support was invaluable. We had catered lunch and snacks delivered and they were very delicious meals. The hotel also held a social gathering for us and the people working all our gatherings were super! You have to stay here, the beach is perfect and so is their Pool! read more
