Spent two nights in this throwback boutique resort which we booked on Expedia. More about that later. The rooms, although this is an establishment that has been here a long time are well maintained, clean and have kitchenettes with (gasp) a great gas cooktop. We arrived late and had to call for directions how to get our key. Once that was completed, we found out we were booked into a second floor room. We have an older German Shepherd who cannot climb stairs anymore so that was a problem. The after hours contact was very helpful and thought she could move us in the morning so we accepted the room and I got a workout carrying our pet up the stairs. The hotel is one block from Clearwater Beach and there are plenty of eateries within walking distance. They have a great courtyard with a heated pool and also a rooftop deck with gas grills. Now back to the Expedia experience. Due to booking through them, we were unable to move in the morning and we were stuck on the second floor. Expedia caused that by providing payment to the facility with a virtual card number which is nice protection but made it impossible to split the costs between two rooms due to all suites being individually owned. They don't have any workout facilities but I got my weight lifting in. Staff even offered to help get my pet up and down the stairs when they were there. We had a great stay, only took off a star due to the second floor issue. read more

Seems strange driving up , outside not spectacular but when you come in , it's pristine clean, quiet, lovely , good rates compared to Surrounding accommodations. Room clean , simple & pretty , 2 minute walk to beach, shopping , eating . Beautiful pool. Rooftop viewing/ cookout area, windows can be opened in room. read more

Camelot Beach Suites - The sunset on our last day - Hotels Near Me - Clearwater Beach, Florida

This is our first time here, in a one bedroom (kingsize bed) 2 bath unit with Global Discoveries Vacations. It apparently is the only unit they have here, unit 201, which is on the 2nd floor with a triple window facing Mandalay Blvd with a distant view of the water. Like everyone said the beach is literally a one block walk, and 2 blocks south of all the restaurants and shops. If you don't feel like walking back, there is a trolley that you catch for $2.25, and $1.10 for seniors and children. If you like live entertainment, across the street is Palm Pavillion bar and grill has entertainment every day and night, and it is directly on the beach, so you can hear it even if you are not eating or drinking there. The sand is fine almost powdery white, and the water is usually 'clear' blue water, except that for us, it was pretty churned up from hurricane Irma last week. Happy to be here! read more

Overall, we really liked this place: the room we stayed in was clean and well cared for. We will very likely stay here again. It is in a very good location: one block from the beach and on-beach entertainment (Palm Pavilion and other beach restaurants) and only a couple of blocks away from the touristy shopping area, so it wasn't loud at night when we were trying to sleep. When we look out of the front windows facing the Main Street (Mandalay), you can see the waves breaking at the beach. Very nice! There are a couple of things we didn't like: the WiFi was so weak that we couldn't even log into Netflix (when we attempted to have a relaxing evening in the condo during a rain storm). Since we were there during a time when there were quite a few active storms in the Gulf, we were often checking our weather apps for updates so we could make appropriate plans for the day and found ourselves disabling WiFi often because it was so slow. (We ended up having to increase the data on our cellular plan which turned out being an unexpected cost.). Also, the mattress in our room (201) was not super comfortable. It was quite firm, but it also seemed to just be either an inexpensive mattress or old. Apparently, all of the condos in Camelot are owned by different individuals and all the rooms are sized and decorated a little differently, which is why I specified the room number. The kitchen had what we needed to allow us to buy some groceries and eat breakfast and some lunches in our room. Not all rooms have an oven (ours did not have an oven) but all rooms in this resort has access to barbecue pits on the roof, which was a HUGE plus. The pool, although it seemed a little small when we first walked into this complex, it turned out to be a perfect size for the number of people staying at this resort. We often had the pool to ourselves, which was really nice. They also have a nice selection of pool and beach toys the kids could play with which were in good condition. read more

My family and I stayed at Camelot Beach Resort Memorial Day weekend 2020. We had a great stay. The room was very clean and the staff was extremely nice. Location is right across the street from the beach. Everything we needed was within walking distance and we didn't have to move our vehicle all weekend. I would like to thank everyone for a wonderful experience when my dog and me visited in October 2019. The room was perfect, nothing negative to say, and the kitchenette and microwave area was ideal. We visited the dog friendly beach north of Somerset, took countless walks. The location of the hotel is great for everything from Libraries to Restaurants, from dog friendly beaches to sitting by the water's edge. I would definitely recommend Camelot Beach Resort as a place to stay with a dog or NOT. read more

We stayed here for a Fathers Day weekend, from a Friday- Monday. On our first night we had to call the after hours because it was 11:30pm & a family had their children in the pool with out adults & we had to go outside & tell them to be quite. There was no one on property to handle this or emergencies. We had the same happen on Saturday, luckily their parents were with them this time. I was told on Saturday morning that that family would be spoken to about pool hours. I do not believe this was done. The stoves are gas & I understand the cost effect however it is left up to us the guest to light the pilots & we had to leave windows cracked due to the smell of gas being present. The rooms are good, the linens were aged & worked for us. The location was great! But the price we paid for what we had was a bit high. read more

We live somewhat locally and I wanted to surprise my man with a weekend getaway for the Clearwater Jazz Holiday to see his favorite band the Devil Makes Three. This place is super chill and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Each room is decorated differently as they are owned by different people. Most accept pets but make sure you tell them ahead of time as you want your fur baby allowed. Stores, Restaurants and bars are plentiful here and the beach is just across the street! A great vibe here. Vicky and Wendy who manage the office are super helpful and accommodating. They made sure our stay was fantastic! We will definitely come back here and highly recommend the Camelot Beach Resort!! read more

This is a great motel. I love the nice rooms and the pool. Although the rooms are a little small and the bathroom is very small, I still had a good time in the 6 ft deep pool and eating and looking around on the roof. The pool and its toys are great for kids. Also enjoy strong, free wifi. I will maybe come back next time. read more

Love this place! Although we live in Florida, we often need a beach getaway and we try to stay here as often as possible. Super friendly staff, gated and walled for privacy. They have recently upgraded, new paint, fresh new look without feeling like a chain hotel. Plenty of awesome choices for breakfast lunch and dinner within walking distance. Upstairs grill area with a fabulous view of the nightly sunset. Room 210 is awesome, owner faux painted it tastefully, you feel like you're in a peaceful underwater cove! Many other owner suites available, all very pretty! Super clean pool, lots of homey extras you won't find at a chain! Bring on the sun, sand, and serenity! read more

This was a very happy surprise for us. We booked it very last minute, and were pleasantly surprised when it was even better than the pictures showed. Great staff, and the rooms were awesome! We had an efficiency, and the sink and range area had granite countertops! The kitchen area was well stocked with whatever cooking items you might need, too. I really appreciated that the rooms were basically soundproof - couldn't hear anyone outside, even when the pool was being used. It's within walking distance to almost everything, and just a half a block from the beach. Also, they do accept pets, if you wish. I highly recommend this place, and we will be going back there again very soon! read more

Staff is super friendly. My room 205 is clean, furnished with a fridge with ice trays, stove, oven, microwave, various dishes, pull out couch, two TVs, and two beds (my bed is really soft). The owners have repainted and redone the area around the pool. It looks great and any company that reinvest in it's product wins points with me. There is a double gas grill up top, I would recommend bringing either tongs or a metal spatula and maybe your phone with a Bluetooth speaker. It gets pretty hot up top while grilling, so maybe a large glass of wine, too. We are a party of 21 people with ages ranging from 3 yrs old to 70 years old and this is our fourth year spending a week here. We'll make a reservation for next year before we leave. Draw backs I would say no ice machine, be we can go next door to the convenient store. Some might find it problematic that there is not an evening attendant, but I enjoy the autonomy. There is an after hours number we had to use once when we lost a room key, but the on call attendant came quickly and got us into the room. Overall a consistently great experience that fits us well. read more

I'm fortunate to visit my brother in the Tampa area 2-3 times a year. During my most recent visit we thought it would be fun to spend a night at the beach. Being a frequent traveler I pulled up my Hotwire app and searched for Clearwater beach hotels that have free parking and are pet friendly as I had my three pound Yorkie with me and my brother had his five pound Yorkie. I booked a well rated, pet friendly, free parking, unrevealed hotel for $190. No mention of any pet fee at booking or at the reveal during confirmation. I arrive at Camelot and a lovely man checks me in, explains parking, and asks for my credit card in case of damages. Standard stuff. No mention of pets or asking if I have pets, no signs about a pet fee. The pool is nice, the room is fine, the bathroom is almost absurdly small and in desperate need of an exhaust fan (mold on the ceiling above the shower) but functional. It's definitely what I would call a boutique hotel than a resort, overall a quaint place and we muse we will probably book two rooms for two nights when I come back with my sister in March. Then I go to return my key for check out and a decidedly unpleasant person named Vickie scowls at me, hands me a credit card receipt for $50, tells me I've been charged a pet fee, and scolds me, "You can't just book online like that." What audacity I have: booking an advertised pet friendly room with a company Camelot set up an account with. How dare I think of such a thing? How else was I supposed to book through Hotwire? Osmosis? Telekinesis? Since check out I looked at the hotel's website. Says it's "pet friendly", no mention of a pet fee, and the rate was much less than I paid with Hotwire. I called my credit card company to dispute the $50 fee and they said it's a common scam fee they see a lot of Florida hotels try to get away with. Pretty shady. I'm told there should be no problem getting the charge reversed. Overall, Vickie soured the entire beach trip for me. Needless to say we will be spending our money and time at one of the many, many other hotels in the area during future visits. My brother will also be advising all his friends and visitors away from the Camelot. Too bad Vickie doesn't take better care in her approach and treatment of guests. Many people have to save for years to be able to take a trip, a trip to Florida may be their trip of a lifetime. In the past I've been that person. My encounter with Vickie could have left them in tears and spoiled the entire trip. read more

I have stayed at the Camelot Resort 4 times in the last five years. It's always been very clean, reasonably priced and not over crowded. The beach is literally right across the street and it's just a short walk. The staff is great and helpful. The only negative things I have dealt with is the noise at night coming from the pool. There is nobody there at night to say, "Hey, you're getting too loud" or "pools closed." I think updated windows would help with the noise. And the other thing would be the key cards demagnetizing. All in all its a great place and I'll be coming back. read more

What can I say about Camelot except for exceptional service, cleanliness, and general homey feeling. Nick, Wendy, and Bob, where hospitable and friendly. Our room which is more like an apartment, was large and comfortably fit seven people plus my 17 pound dog, which also enjoyed the stay. I accidentally stumbled across the Camelot while looking for a pet friendly place to stay on the West Coast. I was pleasantly surprised as was the other family I was traveling with. I will definitely be back. There are so many good things to say about this hotel. The pool area is immaculate with toys, floats, beach chairs, and all the beachtowels you can Ask for. The beach was literally across the street. There's always something to do on this beach. Oh I forgot to mention The rooftop barbecue area which overlooks the beach which I did not get to use this time, but definitely will next time. We will definitely be back! read more

I spent 2 nights here with my family and friends. We booked every open room and had a blast. Vikki was so accommodating and all the people that work for her. We had the best time. I would recommend that anyone stay here fro their wedding. It was so nice being able to stay all together and not worry about being to loud or getting kicked out.
