The property itself is beautiful, and the lobby and common areas make a great first impression. Unfortunately, my overall experience was bad enough that I would not choose to stay here again. If you're looking for 3 nights of uninterrupted sleep, I would strongly recommend booking elsewhere. If you're looking for a front desk that seems largely indifferent after multiple complaints about noise, this may be the place for you. If slow internet is high on your wish list, you'll feel right at home. One of the biggest challenges was the noise. This is an older property, and sound travels easily between rooms and common areas. During both nights of my stay, wedding related events were taking place on site. On one evening, the noise continued past 11:00 p.m. directly beneath my room and made it extremely difficult to sleep when I had to be up very early the next morning. When I contacted the front desk, I was informed that they were unsure when the event would conclude but would ask guests to keep the noise down. While I appreciated the effort, the disturbance continued for quite some time. To make matters worse, I got very little sleep during my stay due to a combination of wedding noise, loud guests, and children running around above my room sounding as though they were jumping off furniture. One of the wedding groups was openly drinking in an area where alcohol was apparently not permitted, while music and noise continued well into the evening. I made multiple complaints, and while I was told staff spoke with those involved, nothing meaningfully changed. Guests who are sensitive to noise or need a quiet environment should absolutely keep this in mind before booking. Housekeeping was another area where my experience fell short of expectations. I spoke with 2 different employees and requested that my room be serviced later in the day due to my schedule. Both assured me it would be handled. However, when I returned that evening, the room had not been cleaned. The trash had accumulated, I was out of fresh towels, and I had to contact the front desk multiple times before reaching someone. After a long day away from the property, this irritated me. I also felt the property was marketed in a misleading way. The booking photos make it appear as though you're staying at a large historic waterfront resort. In reality, a real estate developer has built numerous Florida-style condominiums and oddly placed residential homes throughout the surrounding property. Much of this development is conveniently omitted from the booking photos. While the hotel building itself is beautiful, the actual setting is far different from what is portrayed online. The surrounding condos and residential buildings significantly diminish the historic atmosphere, and I found the marketing misleading. The room itself was comfortable enough, but I did notice a few cleanliness concerns upon arrival, including crumbs and areas that appeared to have been overlooked during preparation for check-in. It's also worth noting that this is not a full-service hotel. Dining options on-site and nearby are somewhat limited. There is a small coffee bar, and guests receive a breakfast basket with items such as croissants and fruit, but there is no room service and only limited food service available. The property has a lot of visual appeal and potential, but the combination of noise issues, inconsistent housekeeping, slow internet, limited responsiveness, and unmet expectations regarding the overall experience left me upset. Having worked with professionals in the hospitality industry for many years, I can honestly say this was one of the poorest guest experiences I have ever encountered. A good night's sleep is one of the most important parts of any hotel stay, and that was not my experience here. It's a real shame that this property wasn't preserved in a way that honored its historic character. Instead, much of that character has been overshadowed by the surrounding development, which takes away from what could have been a beautiful landmark. Personally, I wouldn't say here again. This hotel is absolutely beautiful inside and outside. The grounds are kept really nice with ample parking. It is in an area where the public can't access it really well so there are no major streets. The hotel is a historical site because it's been there for a very long time. It looks like an estate/mansion. The lobby is decorated beautiful with a simplistic elegance atmosphere. This was a surprise trip for my husband (our anniversary) and I didn't want to pay with a credit card, so they were very nice to accept my cash ahead of our trip. I thought that was going above & beyond. And because they knew we were celebrating our anniversary, they provided a beautiful bottle of sparkling cider and 2 glasses. Plus, what a quaint and thoughtful way to welcome us every morning with a cute picnic basket with snacks! Although we did not utilize the swimming pool it looked very nice and I really liked that there are cabanas. Best of all, this hotel didn't seem crowded! It really is like a hidden gem! There is a tour guide at specified times in the day, that will take you through the hotel to discuss the historical perspective. It is REALLY interesting and it's a must! The hotel is just steps away from Clearwater Beach, therefore you have easy access. There are also nearby activities such as The Clearwater Marine Aquarium, which we love. Our king size bedroom was very clean & beautiful and had a view of the front of the hotel. We were pleasantly greeted with goodies, like I mentioned above, but above all I loved the plush & cozy bathrobe! We will definitely be staying here again in the future. Beautiful. Historical. Romantic. These are some of the adjectives I'd use when describing this location. We came here for our makeshift honeymoon after the pandemic resulted in our cruise getting cancelled and it was exactly what we were looking for. The room was breathtaking and befitting our special ocassion. The staff members made us feel special and were always friendly and helpful. We were disappointed that the site tour was not available, but we understood that the pandemic has resulted in some changes to the amenities. Some other affected services were not fully explained when we arrived, which is part of why I took it down a star. Housekeeping staff was not permitted to enter rooms, which would've been helpful. We had a pile of towels before we finally asked and found this out. The same goes with bed turnover. It just would've been good to know this stuff from the start. The same goes with some other items in the room. The coffee maker was on request. One light was missing a bulb. Just some little stuff like that. The only other thing that takes away from the beauty of this location is the hovering condos surrounding the pool. They're nice condos, but it just makes you feel...observed. The reduction in services was likely an oversight, but it did make me think twice about that 5th star. 4 stars is still a pretty good rating though. read more

This property is beautiful. We stayed here as a resting point on a long trip. At check in the staff was beyond friendly, the pool was pristine and a great place to relax, then the croissants, juice and fruit that came in the morning breakfast basket were fresh. The overall feel of this hotel was how well it is taken care of and how lovely the entire facility is preserved. But the icing on the cake for me is this. I left 3 of my favorite workout jackets in a dresser. The staff not only went out of their way to look for them but also offered to ship them to me. My husband and I stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. Staff was friendly and room service tended to our room every day. We enjoyed the fresh croissants and fruit every morning. Our favorite was the pool and hot tub area where we spent a lot of time and loved that it wasn't packed! Although we were close to the busy beach, it felt like we were tucked away. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Also loved that we could see the sunset from the back of the inn every evening. Absolutely wonderful weekend get-away! Loved every minute of our stay! We had a Jr Suite on the 2nd floor (room 214) that overlooked the pool. The room had two queen beds, hardwood floors, a large bathroom with a deep tub, sitting room with TV and fireplace (not a working fireplace any longer.) Very quiet. I loved the breakfast basket delivered to my door each morning. On my first morning, a basket arrived with two large croissants with butter. I made coffee in my sitting room and enjoyed breakfast in my room while watching the news. On my second morning, a larger basket arrived with croissants, two apples and two Tropicana orange juices. While in the pool, I couldn't help but envision the extravagant parties that went on here during the early 1900s. A bit of trepidation about staying here as we always took a yearly winter weekend at the old Belleview Biltmore. No Worries!!! The Inn has retained the original charm, it's still beautiful, has excellent staff who go out of the way to make the stay exceptional... love the porches, the staircase, the history room, loved hearing the piano music wafting up the stairs to our room. It's convenient to anything a person might want to do for a Florida vacation but quiet and private. First I would like to say that this hotel is beautiful, the quality of the restoration is impeccable. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. My husband and I took advantage of the free Bicycles and took a lovely bike ride. Now for the but, please keep in mind none of this has anything to do with the current hotel. My husband and I stayed here 10 years ago before restoration, we wanted to come back to see it after. It was disappointing that close to 3/4 of the original hotel was lost when they moved the hotel. It was also disappointing that with the over development of the surrounding, immediate area, with Condos, the original ambience was lost. There is really nothing left of original grounds. I am a historian, so this is important to me. I wish they would have preserved more. All that said. I go back to my original post. It is a beautiful hotel and definitely worth a stay. I am very happy they managed to preserve the original building at all. And I hope it stands for another 100 years. read more

We stayed here for a long weekend. It is a newly renovated property with a lot going for it. Friendly staff. Nice rooms. Adjacent to golf course with 2 18 holes courses. Tennis. Still a few bugs to work out. There is no food or bar service. There is a lot of construction. We suggest a buffet breakfast and evening bar service. They should streamline the relationship with golf club and highlight location within golf club. read more

I did not stay at this hotel but I took a history tour given by Joey. It was amazing! I learned a whole lot about this beautiful location 200 years old and the amazing restoration that was done here last year. You'll love every minute of this tour given twice a day during the week. We loved this historic inn. The staff was wonderful Tamara, Lawrence and Joey made our stay so enjoyable. They were so knowledgeable and helpful. Joey's tour is not to be missed. We learned so much about the history of the inn, the area and the architecture. Really good. The pool is perfection. At 84 degrees we swam everyday even though it was chilly (50)outside. There was a cold snap in our two weeks. For nine days we felt at home and were taken very good care of. It's so beautifully renovated with an elegant decor. Our suite was lovely, we didn't want to leave. I think the no restrarant is misleading, the country club is right across the driveway/lawn. Literally 30 yards away. Not far at all They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. It's good and the people friendly. The basket breakfast is just a lovely touch but if you need a hot breakfast it's not far away Tamara gave us great recommendations for dinner in the area tThe sister hotel in Clearwater has a beautiful beach and valet parking. You can't use the pool but it doesn't matter when the Inn's pool is so special. It's a golfers paradise if you are into that. We just made it our base for touring the area -it always felt like we were coming home.after a day out. We loved it. It's a great find. read more
