We had an old shed that we needed removed, some fence we needed replaced, and wanted the area made into a "kid zone." Chris came out to estimate the job in person, gave me a competitive, detailed quote quickly and was able to fit us in in a few weeks. Chris and his crew were prompt, organized efficient and clean. Would definitely recommend. We had our landscaping done a number of years and it got to the point where it was just too hard to keep up with all of the yard work. We were looking to add artificial turf in addition adding plants that required less maintenance. We were referred to Chris by friends who used him for their project and had nothing but great things to say. After doing some internet research, the reviews are consistent. Great value, responsive, on time, great work.....and they all held true with our project. Chris came out, we talked about the job, got his input and within a day or two we had a quote. When the day came to start, Chris, Paul and crew showed up and got to work. In the mornings Chris and/or Paul would talk about the work they planned to get done that day and then at night Chris would text to say what time they would be showing up the next day. We needed help picking some plants and he met us at the nursery to make the picks. And as the project began to take shape, there were random changes or additions to the project we asked if he could do and they had no problems with making it happen. His crew was amazing in terms of the quality of work and their attention to the smallest details. They also cleaned up at the end of the day which was awesome so as the project did not inconvenience our neighbors. The job was scheduled to take two weeks and they finished a day and a half sooner and would've been even sooner had the rain not prevented them from working. Chris came out to assess our backyard which was in major need of renovation. Chris took his time to learn what our goals were for the space and talked through many details of what the end product of the project would look like. My wife and I had never had landscape work done and Chris made us feel comfortable with the whole process. We had Chris and his team remove an old porch and pergola, remove an old shed, break old concrete, and remove dead bushes. They also finished the job in less time than we had been told it would take, and the work they did was superior. Chris helped us with design ideas and selecting plants, ground cover, and trees. At first they were able to schedule and you work basically weekly getting paid as they went. They have their idea of what to focus on so if other things are important to you, like angles you need to be clear. Basically before the job was completed they got busy and didn't schedule me. There was a point where they contacted, so I thought they'd get around to it. Especially disconcerting with health issues for me and it was really important to have the work done. Months went by I called emailed and text. They didn't finish the ground cover, and the edges of what was done left space for weeds to grow back. It was very close to being complete. They left stuff not removed. Never got to putting the rocks and bark down. Do you know if they could've respected enough to call or get back return it over to somebody else. At least respecting that if they weren't able to do it that it needed to be done. If this gets resolved I'm happy to change this. No follow through or communication to date. Chris' bid was by far the most in-line with our budget and was detailed for each line item (even after telling our budget to other contractors, they still bid 2-3x what we could pay). I've dealt with a fair number of contractors and Chris is at the top of the list for people I'd recommend. He's easy to work with, professional, responsive, and flexible with changes. Five star! Chris and his crew were exceptional--professional and precise all round. From the start Ralston Landscaping gave us a precise and detail oriented estimate that spelled out every detail, labor, supplies and fees for every item in our landscaping and was fair and at market rates. Other landscapers we contacted just gave us the bulk estimate price that were probably over inflated so we didn't know where the charges were going. The communication level and timelines were excellent--we are so glad we picked Ralston Landscaping for our project. We had an idea of what we wanted from the start, but Chris and his crew were able to suggest better ways and looks and helped us all along the way. We ended up paving in most of our back yard, with stone pavers and tall planters. They did the whole nine yards--installation, lighting, sprinkler system and manually moving a wooden gazebo swing to another location in our yard. We had badly botched a nectarine tree and it was low growing and spreading fast, smack into our cherry tree which wasn't much prettier.
