Omg Ms Rosie is the sweetest, most patient lady ever. You can tell she knows what she is doing and enjoys her job. I think she manages the hot food...you can tell she takes pride in making sure the hot food smells amazing, looks amazing and tastes amazing. Oh man...I forgot to try the Mac n cheese. When we got to the cash registers, Marissa stepped in to help the cashiers. She has excellent customer service. I can see why she is a manager(at-least I am assuming she is a manager). The inside of the grocery store is clean and organized. read more

Imagine walking into a grocery store for the first time, asking how to collect your order, and being told, "Get your shit and go"--in front of other customers. That was my experience at Ralphs, 5429 Hollywood Boulevard, on October 9, 2026, around 7:08 p.m. I arrived late for an online pickup after heavy traffic and confusion getting into the parking structure. I explained that I was unfamiliar with the location and needed help. The first employee I approached said they were off duty and left, so I sought a manager. An employee named Hugo, possibly a manager or supervisor, insulted me and used the language quoted above. When I returned with a shopping cart, he said he could "ban my ass" from the store. I was there to collect groceries. I needed directions and answers to questions. If my arrival time caused a problem, explain the policy. There is no excuse for cursing at a customer or humiliating them publicly. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I left shocked and deeply shaken. His conduct felt antagonistic, as though he was trying to provoke me. Think about how you would feel if someone spoke this way to you, your parent, or your child simply because they needed assistance. Any of us can be late, confused, or unfamiliar with a store. Basic respect should never depend on getting everything right. I am asking Ralphs corporate leadership to investigate and address this conduct. Based on what happened, I would not return. No customer should have to risk verbal abuse just to pick up groceries. read more

Another good experience at this location, my only issue is cash registers employees always trying to stuff all my food in 1 double paper bag. When I asked and paid for 3 bags so I could separate specific items. I could understand if there was a long line behind me but there wasn't. I came here around 8:30'ish pm and most of hot foods were gone. read more

Dirtiest Ralphs I've ever seen. i walked in then immediately I walked out. Would not recommend going here

FOOD It's a local Ralph's I've gone to for about 5 years until the past year or so. The quality of the food seems to have declined some. It does have a good selection of certain specialty things though. It seems to be one of the few RALPHS that generally have my coconut aminos. SERVICE The staff are kind people and helpful especially once you've gotten to the cash register. There is security there at the entrance which is good being in the area the stores in there can be some questionable characters going there sometimes. There's ample parking either up top or down below. read more

I'm a former merchandiser for one of the brands that Ralph's carries. My route covered roughly 50 stores. I can honestly say that - out of all the stores I serviced - and, believe me: it had stiff competition - servicing this store was the absolutely worst. From higher management to store employee - from top down - these were the nastiest people I had the displeasure to interact with. Rude, presumptuous, and wildly discourteous. The exceptions - the ONLY two - were Frank and Bono who were great to work with. I had no issues with the security guard, either. The receiver, especially, was utterly insufferable: an obnoxious ass who - for whatever reason - somehow got it into his head that I was his servant. I didn't work for YOU, you arrogant, obnoxious idiot. I worked for the company which was paying me. Were YOU writing my paychecks? I was supposed to be working with WITH YOU in getting the product out, not FOR you. Exactly who the hell do you think you are!? And I'm NOT responsible for conducting YOUR inventory! Smug, arrogant, and annoying beyond belief! My advice to corporate is to perform some kind of HR exorcism on this slice of hell and redeem the minority of good people who are Frank and Bono from this cesspool. And EVERY time I went in here it looked like God's last revenge - as messy, unwelcoming, and nasty as the people who worked here. If anybody deserves to be out on the streets and homeless, it's these waste products. I'd say I'm sorry that you people are so damn miserable but, in truth, I can think of anyone who deserves it more. read more

What is right about this particular Ralph's? The parking is underground with an elevator or escalator needed to reach the store. There are never any carts...ever. How is anyone expected to shop without a cart? The store layout makes little sense and the overall atmosphere is messy. Then just try to check out. Very few aisles are open and lines are very long. There is never enough help. Checkout people, and what an awful job they have, just throw the food any which way in bags, either the store's or one's own. Ralph's used to have a good reputation but this particular store needs to be closed for good or somehow redesigned to be a store anyone would choose to frequent. read more

SecGuards will try and provoke a person into something physical and will plead with managers to declare trespassing so they they can become physical to remove you. They'll beg them even after manager says no. OK, updated again on 3/25 after an. incident on 3/22. Here's the thing I can't stop thinking about. A guard shot and killed someone at this Ralph's in 2023. Here's the ABC7 story: https://abc7.com/security-guard-shooting-ralphs-hollywood-assault-fatal/13616048/ The person tried to attack the guard. It makes me wonder why did this person try to attack the guard? What did the guard do to antagonize the individual into using a fire extinguisher and then a screwdriver to go at the guard? Was the guard provoking and instigating instead of deescalating the situation? Was that guard like this guard and hurling insults trying to get a physical reaction from them? Remember the old saying, sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me? The guards here will try and use words to get a reaction from you and use their sticks & stones aka fists & bullets. Avoid this horrible location. read more

Place is a joke. No sense of urgency and when asked for assistance they all pass the task on to eachother.

I'm writing to share a frustrating and disappointing experience I had at the Hollywood location on the evening of July 4, 2025 around 11:10 PM. I had been shopping in the store for approximately 20 minutes when I made my way to the toiletry aisle to grab toothpaste. I walked over to the aisle to find it closed. Surprised, I asked an employee if they could open the aisle so I could retrieve the item. I was told the aisle closes at 11 PM -- something I had no way of knowing, as there was no signage indicating this policy. When I politely persisted in asking for access, the situation quickly escalated unnecessarily. Two employees (Alberto and Michael) both raised their voices at me while refusing a simple request in front of a line of people. Instead of offering a reasonable explanation or assistance, the staff became increasingly rude and ultimately threatened to call the police and have me trespassed -- over toothpaste. This was incredibly disproportionate to the situation and left me feeling humiliated and disrespected. I fully understand stores have policies, and staff need to adhere to schedules. However, there was no signage or communication about aisle closures, and I had already been shopping in the store. Being threatened with police involvement over a basic customer inquiry is deeply concerning and unacceptable. I'm hoping this message reaches someone who can take this matter seriously and ensure it is addressed appropriately -- both in terms of employee training and policy clarity for customers. I would also appreciate clarification on whether this is an official store policy and why it's handled in such a harsh manner. I already feel as though I now need to find a new home store to grocery shop from as I know longer feel safe or welcome at this one. read more

I moved this year, and this is now the most convenient Ralphs to my new home. It's also one of the worst Ralphs I've ever seen. Shopping there is a frustrating and unpleasant experience. I've never made a trip there where I've been able to get everything on my list--and we're not talking anything exotic; bread, yogurt, ice cream, meat. There are times the ice cream freezer or the bread aisle are so under stocked, it looks like pictures of markets in the USSR or East Germany during the '70s; the pints of Ben & Jerry's and Haagan Das often have a layer of frost, telling me they've been thawed and refrozen. . The store isn't especially well-maintained, either. There are days when the aisles are unswept, and I don't think the self-service check out machines have ever all been working; there's alway one (sometimes two) out of order. The Ralphs I've shopped in previously (in North Hollywood, 3rd/ La Brea, and the "Rock and Roll Ralphs" on Sunset and Poinsettia) didn't have these issues. read more

If I can give a 0/5 stars I would. Horrible employees here. I'm an Uber/ Instacart shopper in the Hollywood area, and sometimes I shop at this store for customers. The last few times I came in, and unfortunately, like any other human being, I need to use the restroom (door has a code). There was an employee near the restrooms, who I asked for the code & the employee goes "you need to get it at the self check out registers" like huhh??? ok, I go to the self check out registers, ask another employee, and she points to the sign w/ a code. Ok. No big deal. Fast forward to today. I go in, and since I already know to go to the self check out cashier, a female who was flirting back & forth w/ a security guard... I ask her for the code & instead of saying "the restrooms are closed for the day" she just points to a sign saying that the restrooms are closed, and doesn't make eye contact with me because she's flirting with the security guard & then the guard tries to be funny with me but in a smart ass rude way. Like bro, ok no one cares, shut up. The issue is, why when someone asks for the restroom code, do they make it a big deal to get the code? Why do I have to walk back to the front of the store, to get the code? Why cannot they just verbally tell us the code w/o pointing to a sign? read more

Go to Vons or Jons or another supermarket unless you have no choice within 2 miles. This place isn't just dirty and sad but the lines can take 20 minutes and just getting into the parking structure can take 10 minutes. There's usually parking in the bottom garage but 7 our 10 times, the escalator or elevator doesn't work and it smells pretty rancid, not sure how many rats or pigeons have died in that parking lot but the funk in there is like your average dirty subway. It's pretty common to see homeless people in this area but this tends to attracts the more violent ones. There was a shooting incident because one of them tried to attack a customer and the security guard. The incident happened on Aug 8, 2023 but there's weekly stories where it's more verbal harassment and not using a weapon. Almost no shopping carts available or they are broken. The only reason why I don't give it 1 star is because there are times when the lines are fast, parking is open, things are working and it has potential but small variety of items (groceries, supplies, drinks, etc), and still lacks for it's size. They are located in a key location that works well but they need to a complete revamp and monitoring system to make sure traffic moves. I'm pretty sure people are just parking their car their all day/night and security doesn't care. read more

Absolutely disgusting. The produce had flies buzzing around, and several items looked moldy. The meat section smelled terrible, and I even saw a package that was leaking onto the shelf. Pretty standard Ralph's Fresh Fare Grocery store in the thick of EaHo. The have friendly staff and easy parking but seem to shelf and sell 3/4ths of most other locations which can make for a faster shopping experience but really be a but of a constant hiccup when you're hoping to get all your grocery needs done at one location. Overall a solid place to get essential fridge needs just not the place to purchase them all. read more

Ralphs - Grocery Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Listen. There's no way to get around it. This is one of the wildest Ralphs in LA. The plaza is high trafficked and so is this Ralphs. There are so many different walks of life intersecting here and a lot of calamity. This review is really for the employees of this location. The prerequisite to be employed here must be sainthood and/or S.W.A.T. training. Today, I walked in to see a man trying to walk out with a whole chicken without paying. The guy at self-checkout calmly grabbed the chicken while the man trying to steal the chicken was trying to yank the chicken out of his hand, screaming obscenities. The self-checkout guy was like Buddha! He didn't glare or engage - just walked away. This is the tip of the iceberg for these employees and very commonplace. Shopping was easy but crowded. I enjoy using the app to load coupons. Self-checkout line was short. As I was checking out, I made sure to grab my receipt but I think I was so focused on bagging quickly (I know it's my own self-consciousness about being a slow bagger) that I totally walked out with my change. I got to the elevator and one of the women working at self-checkout ran out to ask if I had paid in cash. I told her yes and she handed me my $15 that I totally forgot about!!! On one hand, that's the 'right' thing to do and something I would absolutely have done, but on the other hand, it was above and beyond. Between the speed of the transactions and volume, it's easy to just to let the customer to come back if they remembered they'd left change. But it was really kind and thoughtful to take the time to run out and make sure I had it before I took the elevator down to the lot. I was so flabbergasted that I had forgotten my change and overjoyed with gratitude that I didn't process my feelings until I was on the way home. I tried to call the store to see if I could get their names to thank them but this review and the feedback I left on the company survey will have to do for now. read more

Came here really quick as i was in the shopping plaza doing an errand. I feel bad for the terrible reviews because my experience was the complete opposite. I went inside and at first i could not find any baskets and i didn't need a whole cart. I started grabbing some things i needed and I'm like "S*** I need a basket" this nice worker asked if i needed help with something and I'm like "You think you can help me find a basket?" He went the extra mile for me and found me one. so shout out to that guy for helping me out. Also, i did self check out and the worker that was there helping direct customers to different machines was super sweet. She gave me an extra bag because i only had paid for one but i needed another one and just overall she was helpful. Again, this isn't my regular grocery store. This wasn't the first time this is my fourth visit and still to find hand held grocery basket .it would be really great if you actually have them stacked by the front entrance. I'm unsure if I should blame Ralph's or Instacart for their screw-up. I ordered online to be delivered Monday between 9 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. At around 9:45 I checked my order and it stated shopper was still in the store. At around 11:00 a.m. when my items had not arrived, I checked again and it still stated the shopper was still in the store. I went onto an automated system and entered my personal information and all I got was, "Your delivery is late, please check updates every 30 minutes." I waited until 11:56 & when it still hadn't arrived I went online to try to cancel it, but the system said the order couldn't be canceled. I then called the number that tried to direct me to an automated system, but when the recording said, "How may I help you?" I simply stated "Representative." I had to hold for about 9 minutes before one answered the phone. I explained how I couldn't cancel the order and felt I was being held hostage in my own home because now I'm stuck waiting on an order with no idea when it would arrive. The lady put me on hold, contacted Instacart, and said that the shopper was having problems & that he said my delivery would take another 40 minutes. Never again will I be doing this. read more
