We live in Dana Point and my daughters and I are blondes who have been to both Ralph locations and have been several times to the hair -coloring products aisle looking for Clairol blonde shade color products - ROOT Touch Up 2-IN-1 ... Their stock is so limited, it's insane for how overly expensive everything is too. No crackers available without dairy ingredients unless they're straight wheat. Well, I used to hate this store. That's no longer the case. I love it now. I think owing to new management, namely Kim. You might look at "Simple Truth" organic products there. This is my regular grocery store. Not much to say for selection, etc, it's a Ralphs. However, the people that work here are super nice and go out of their way to help you which I appreciate. e.g. I was looking at some packaged meat and the butcher came out and offered to give me a fresh cut, similarly, I was picking up some bagels and the baker came out and told me she had just made some recently and could bag them up for me. Cashiers are nice too. Honestly, I'd come here anyway because of the proximity to where I live but I appreciate the staff going out of their way to be helpful even when they don't need to. read more

I love their bakery and cheese department. Also they always have some cute flower arrangements and plants. They keep up with the holidays and displays too for each season. The cheese lady is so sweet and funny, I forgot her name but she is awesome. The prices and fair and quality nice. Back home in Texas we used Kroger's a lot for a lot of our grocery and home shopping supplies, glad to have two Ralphs near us. Be sure to check your chicken when picking up from the warm deli section! I picked up a decent amount of chicken nuggets and I got home to realize they were completely inedible. The breading was rock hard and the white mean chicken was just about non existent and grey. Complete waste and the lady had no problem putting them into the bag and giving them to me. read more

TERRIBLE EXAMPLE OF WHAT A MANAGER SHOULD BE DOING the only good worker was Bob who was AMAZING and the only one who helped me when I needed to return an item and didn't have a receipt he knew a quick way to pull up receipts off a machine ( you can only get up to 5 of the recent history receipts ) and I was able to get a return off an item which they had labeled 3.99 and charged me 6.99. Should not have been such a big deal but the man agree genuinely was so unwelcoming and did not want to help and as we were leaving he also got the only helpful employee in trouble for assisting. It's a nice looking store. They are friendly and everything is fresh. Parking isn't a problem and the shopping center has a good look to it. It's a bit tight moving around since it's a small footprint. It's a Ralph's so it isn't anything more in terms of impressive. I would come here again. read more

Only giving 2 stars because there are 2 employees who work at this location who deserve my appreciation and a shout out for being human, Jose in produce and Jerry who is a bagger. I will preface this review by stating that my husband and I have both been loyal customers at this location for over 7 years. We live down the street and go into the store at least once a day. Yes, once every single day, for 7 straight years! Because we go in so often, we know pretty much everyone at this store. Theresa the manager, and Paul, a cashier, are by far the worst and most rude employees at this location. Theresa has her moments where it seems like she might be in a good mood and will even sometimes attempt a smile, but that's not her standard. While Theresa has never been outwardly rude to me, I've witnessed firsthand on several occasions how she verbally abuses her employees and even customers. Tonight, something unfortunate happened while I ran in to grab a quick dinner for myself. As I was browsing the "fancy" cheese section near produce, looking for something a little better than what they have over in the refrigerated section, I selected my cheese and took a step to my left, all of a sudden I'm on the ground and in so much pain. A girl who happened to be walking in my direction sees me on the floor and helps me up, because I'm clearly not able to get myself off the floor. Embarrassed, I hold back my tears from the pain, while she looks for the culprit. A piece of banana on the ground which she threw into the cheese. As I limped my way to the front to tell someone about the incident, I see Paul who was manning self check out, but instead limp over to a register, as I did not want to deal with him. Unfortunately because it's 9 pm, there are not many employees left and the register has a family with a cart load being checked out. As I'm fighting back my tears, and in pain, I hobble over to Paul and explained to him that I just slipped and fell. He just gave me a blank stare that seemed more like a dirty look, and because of his lack of reaction, I explained that there may be more on the floor and someone should probably clean it so no one else slips. Without any sort of apology or a "Are you okay", he walks away. I don't want to assume, but, it I feel like he thought I was over dramatizing the incident to get something out of it. I check myself out since I have like 3 things in my basket, and limp out of the store to my car. My right knee got the worst of the damage but now after being home for an hour or so, my right ankle feels pretty messed up as well. I'm 35 years old, so it's not like I'm an elderly, frail woman. I can't even imagine if something like this happened to an elderly person, Ralph's would definitely have a lawsuit on their hands. I will say, I'm not upset because I fell, I get that the store and its employees are not perfect, and there is bound to be an accident, however, I would not be writing this review right now if I wasn't sick of the rudeness and lack of general kindness and courtesy. In closing, we will not be shopping at this location. EVER. AGAIN. We'll miss Jose and Jerry. Good luck to you both! To Kroger/Ralph's upper management - I challenge you to review your camera's from this evening at around 9 pm, you can see everything that went down as I have explained, I also used my credit card, and have a pretty unique name so it won't be difficult to locate. I have been to this Ralph's Market several times. It's located off of Golden Lantern and PCH. My shopping experience has always been positive - I usually stop by to get some snacks, drinks, and general stuff I need for my visit to the beach. It's not a secret that I definitely prefer to pack a good adult picnic with good quality international cheeses, fresh fruits, crackers, granola bars and drinks (with some adult drinks as well). Wink-Wink. This location is a bit smaller but it's well stocked and they have the food, fruits or anything needed/forgot to bring on our journey. Since, its a self served exempt for the cashier and I didn't ordered anything from the deli, I haven't come across any rude employees. I'm scoring it a solid four. read more

Ralph's is one of my favorite grocery chains in the area. I love the manager specials and clearance items in the back, always worth a look! Service is friendly, the store is well stocked and very clean and well-maintained. The produce is always fresh as are the meats and cheeses. Good shopping option in the area. read more

The Ralph's on Golden Lantern doesn't have a yelp account registered and I wonder why. Their customer service is complete trash. The disgruntled woman who works the self-check out lines absolutely hates her job and she thinks she has to take it out on people coming to shop. One of my items wouldn't scan so she gets upset with me and then when I asked her to scan her card for me because I forgot mine, she blew up and said I need to remember to bring it and she would not scan hers. I'll bring my business somewhere else if you can't hire people with better attitudes. read more

Worst Customer Service! On New Year's Eve after a long day of work I said Happy New Year to an employee he looked at me and smugly shrugged. I said this is your place of business really. He said nothing until I said did I do something. He said sorry. I went to discuss it with the managers and got basically the same treatment they just looked at me because right before I approached they were all laughing together not paying attention to their store. I had no idea who I was speaking to was it the woman Manager or Male Manager because neither was saying a word, so I put my groceries down and said I'd never shop here again due to the lack of customer service or response. It was awkward having 4 people staring at me. It was unacceptable, I felt discriminated against by all 5 employees. Dana deserves better. I left so upset, I called San Clemente Ralph's and spoke to Victoria immediately she understood. She was kind, followed through and told me it came from the top how employees treat customers and I was welcome at her store any time. I'll shop there instead. I waited 2 days for a follow up with the GM Julie at Del Prado she never called , so I did at 2pm. Her customer service was subpar and confirmed to me why I was treated the way I was on NYE. She treated me like I was an inconvenience calling and didn't care because she deflected the entire conversation by only giving excuses and said sorry. Nothing was discussed about what took place. She is not equipped to drill down to fix issues with staff or customers needs she's rude and lacks empathy. This will continue because if I felt this other customers have experienced it as well. The entire staff needs to be re-trained. It's no surprise the grocery stores are eliminating jobs with machines. They don't seem like they like their jobs or their customers at Ralph's Del Prado. Kroger Corporate needs to visit because they lost my business and I bet more people are shopping elsewhere. Who needs to feel bad on New Year's Eve for being kind. No thanks. read more

Been shopping there for over a year, and now they are posting sale prices in big red letters on a yellow placard, but off to the side in very light and small type, it says that the price requires a digital coupon. I normally shop at my local Ralphs in San Clemente, CA and I love the staff and the store atmosphere. I wish I could say the same about the store in Dana Point (Del Prado). Today I was running errands, and I wanted to return some fresh-cut mango that I bought from my Ralphs in San Clemente, CA since it was not ripe when cut. I also needed to grab a couple of items. When I went to the register I explained to the cashier whose name is Brenda M. that I had a return and I wanted to buy these other items. After reviewing the receipt she then rudely told me that this was bought at another Ralph's and they don't like to take other store's returns because it takes away from their profits. She then said that she would accept the return this time. Once my items were rung up, the courtesy clerk then came to put my items into a paper bag. Brenda then told her "no bag." She didn't even ask me if I wanted one, which is customary to ask a customer. I was completely taken back by this employee's personality and lack of customer service/ people skills. She did not fit the image of Ralphs that me and my family are normally accustomed to. I also felt like I was discriminated against because I had a return. read more

She always makes you feel special, cares like her customers and coworkers like family. Creates a positive atmosphere for the customers and is always so helpful. Store seems dirty and hot. Some freezers had frost all over food. Food is not located next to similar products, have to do a lot of walking to complete one meal. Bakery has a lot of one or two items, no variety. Deli is horrible. Hot food is overcooked and again no variety. So called fresh enchiladas had frost on them, so did fresh salads. Bought chicken cobb salad, blue cheese ruined it, no lettuce just white hearts of romaine. This saddens me because in 1963 Ralphs was the only store in my town and for miles around. I came here and would spend my money here pretty much everyday and after my third night coming here in a row this woman that is always giving rude looks and giving me bad energy and vibes. My boyfriend was buying himself beers and this woman asks for my ID, I'm walking around in slippers and not even holding a purse. This woman Fernanda, is always giving looks and never even says anything when I would say have a great day. Honestly I'm shocked I still came here after the vibes she always gave off. Ralphs is Dude-approved, so it's a great place to shop unless you're a nihilist. While the girlfriend & I were in Dana Point for a couple days, this was our grocery go-to. This time around, I didn't pick up ingredients for White Russians & went for beer instead. For a supermarket, craft beer selection was pretty good. I got some Golden Road Brewing "Point the Way" IPA in cans. A long time ago, Ralphs used to be in my NorCal neck of the woods, but no more. By far the WORST Ralph's in the fleet. Staff are rude, disinterested in helping and have horrible attitudes. Fernanda is rude and disrespectful. I have been in that store numerous times and watched her be incredibly rude and dismissive of customers. Clearly the management doesn't pay attention and corporate couldn't care less. I guarantee without the tourist customers this place would be out of business. They forget to bag items, then acuse customers of lying about it when returning , with receipt for the item. Now that they've made the streets around this location 2 way, it's become incredibly easy to get in and out of. That had always been my biggest complaint about this location. This is a smaller location, but they always seem to have what I'm looking for. How they do that is beyond me. And the employees are always so incredibly helpful and nice. More so than other Ralph's and I put Ralph's on the top of the customer service list of super markets. I love it. read more

I just witnessed the height of stupid. Check out lady this morning decided to let a guy buying TWO BEERS hold up the line while he painstakingly filled out a Ralph's card application. When I asked her why he couldn't have just taken it home and filled it out, she snipped, "No. Company policy. He can't take it home." Then have him STEP ASIDE and fill it out!!! Don't hold up the rest of us trying to get home to work and stay away from covid!! The less time in a public setting the better. I looked up my local Ralphs to find their current hours and noticed people giving it a low rating. I've been shopping here for years and have noticed the customer service get only better. Especially during quarantine, I've experienced nothing but helpful and friendly faces. They are working hard despite it being such a stressful time to be out in the world working while many get to stay home and shelter in place safely. I went to Ralphs today. Cory the assistant floor manager was the most rude person I have ever met. I bought a gift card, to give as a birthday present went out to my car to activate it. They said it was compromised, so I went back into store. Cory said there was nothing they could do then she said it's good. So I said since its good I will buy something and return it. Her words were you do that and I will make sure we refuse service to you. She said I am the assistant floor manager and I CAN do that. A personal attack on me. This one-star review is for Fernanda. I have never encountered a manager so incredibly rude. She treated me (a regular costumer) with so much disrespect it was appalling. She talked down to me with the nastiest tone and refused to help me. I decided to take the high road and say "God Bless You" on my way out, but she had nothing nice to say back. I normally have nothing but pleasant and friendly interactions with the employees at this location, but this interaction was so terrible it left me in tears. Went grocery shopping in this Location after we checked into our timeshare down the street. It was nice as they stayed open late hours. The store was clean and seemed well stocked with wonderful choices on the shelves. The produce was fresh. I was going to write a negative review, but then I realized that everything's MY fault. It's my fault that I wanted service at the deli. I goofed by waiting for nearly five minutes before someone noticed me. It's my bad that I wanted turkey sliced thin - I should have just gotten it the standard way. I dropped the ball when I received a mutilated half-pound and asked for a better-sliced full-pound, per my original order. I don't blame the woman behind the counter for rolling her eyes or throwing my food at me. I blew it the second I walked in to a grocery store looking for groceries. Sorry, Ralph's.
