All those Overnight ER Tours - Sprinkled with a Near Fatal Case of COVID (10 Nights in the ICU @ NYU) have taken their toll on my feet. Having the right footwear on your feet is critical and can affect your entire body. Trust me, I know. For years, I've struggled and searched to find a place that "Sub-Specializes" in Outfitting the "Difficult" Foot. Clients are treated like patients; I'm serious - I don't know how else to explain. The amazing team @ Ralph Baker's Shoes - led by Marissa Wood- is incredible. You won't find an experience like this anywhere. I traveled nearly an hour from Charlotte for this service, and I can say with certainty, it was worth it. Marissa is an incredibly knowledgeable professional who is well-versed in pairing appropriate footwear with each of her patients/clients. Forgive me for sounding so medical. I can't stress the importance of having the appropriate footwear enough. This is a family-run business that has been in Salisbury for many years. Believe it or not, you don't have to sacrifice style for comfort - Ralph Baker has a tremendous selection. They literally have a warehouse of shoes; all different types. I challenge you to find a place with such a selection and exceptional service. It only exists in Salisbury. Was sent here by the VA for orthopedic shoes. Marissa greeted us and promptly showed us options. Very upbeat and friendly. She helped me select two pairs of shoes and two pair of elastic shoe laces. Yes, the VA covered the cost, but she was so energetic and genuinely glad to help us I can't help but to recommend her and the store to anyone. I have lymphedema in both feet. I decided to go to Ralph Baker's Shoes. It is a family owned store. The people were busy at the time but very nice and respectful. After a little wait one of the employees was very helpful in finding a shoe that fit and was comfortable. Since then I have purchased another color and style. Savannah was super helpful and I had to try multiple shoes to find the right pair. There are times when they have been overwhelmed with customers, but they have failed to acknowledge me entering the store. I loved the experience. I think my mom and I know my mother-in-law bought shoes there.My foot Dr had suggested I change the type of shoe I was wearing.I went to Ralph Bakers after seeing the had a diabetic shoe program.Once there the staff was very professional as to size my feet and set up a meeting to have imprints made to have molds made of my feet.Luckily they could use my insurance as to help with cost.So far so good.I guess I have found a shoe store myself. read more

I have been in the store several times and have bought tennis shoes and Birkenstock sandals from there... but the last two times that I was in which one of them was today. No one helped me at all. No one even spoke to me. I tried on shoes by myself and I came home and order them directly from the company. I stopped in for my first visit on July 7. I had been looking for a comfort shoe store for years while living in Charlotte and nada. Now living in Salisbury I just discovered this store. I was assisted by Bonnie who was great. I spent 20 years standing on concrete and my feet hurt. I found my first comfortable sandals ever. With every step I took I had tears. The pain was unbearable due to an ankle rollover. After seeing advertisements on TV for Good Feet I made an appointment and got inserts for my shoes for 300 dollars. Any Walmart and Walmart employee could have done just as much for me as Good Feet did at a fraction of the cost. Being a cancer survivor I wanted to continue with life and walk to stay healthy. After driving by Ralph Baker's Shoes, I decided I had nothing to lose. I called and had an appointment the next day. Ralph Baker Jr. made molds of my feet and had my inserts ready in 5 days. I still walk with tears in my eyes only now they are tears of joy. Being painfree is amazing and the price was much lower than Good Feet, plus I got shoes included.
