Having the right footwear on your feet is critical and can affect your entire body. Trust me, I know. For years, I've struggled and searched to find a place that "Sub-Specializes" in Outfitting the "Difficult" Foot. Clients are treated like patients; I'm serious - I don't know how else to explain. The amazing team @ Ralph Baker's Shoes - led by Marissa Wood- is incredible. You won't find an experience like this anywhere. I traveled nearly an hour from Charlotte for this service, and I can say with certainty, it was worth it. Marissa is an incredibly knowledgeable professional who is well-versed in pairing appropriate footwear with each of her patients/clients. Forgive me for sounding so medical. I can't stress the importance of having the appropriate footwear enough. This is a family-run business that has been in Salisbury for many years. Believe it or not, you don't have to sacrifice style for comfort - Ralph Baker has a tremendous selection. They literally have a warehouse of shoes; all different types. I challenge you to find a place with such a selection and exceptional service. It only exists in Salisbury. Ralph Baker's is Veteran & First Responder Friendly and offers a very generous discount to our Nation's heroes. I have…read morechronic nerve damage in my feet, and it has been very difficult to find flat, but cushioned, comfortable sandals, with Velcro straps. A young salesclerk helped me find a pair, which are great. A new style for me. I do wish there were more flat, cushioned sandal selections, in a variety of other colors, available. A great sale price and they have a rewards program. She even checked their other store locations to find a certain brand of sandals for me. We went to the store in Lexington, which held the sandals for 4 days for me. Sadly, the even sized sandals are too big for me. I am a true 7 1/2. 8 was too large. 7 too small. Prices are comparable to other franchised shoe stores in Salisbury, their web site is easy to use.

Luckily I was on a mission and not a shopping spree. This time (insert evil laugh). I browsed the tennis shoes a while and saw that they had a deal going on BOGO 50% off. I'm pretty certain I heard angels sing when I read the sign. So instead of buying one pair, I got two. :) Got a pair of women's Nike's (gray and pink) super comfy and the price was actually really decent. Also picked up a pair of New Balances (purple and blue) as a back up pair. Because who can have too many pairs of shoes?!? And they were 1/2 off which made the deal even sweeter. Overall, the check out guy was super friendly and efficient. Only dropping it down a star because I found an awesome pair of sandals (that I really wanted to buy) but they didn't have my size. Thinking about getting back into running again after about 16 years away from it. I heard good…read morethings about Fleet Feet and had never been properly fitted for running shoes before so I decided to give them a shot. Right as you enter the door there is a signboard where you can right your name and then they will come get you when a salesperson is available. I didn't have to wait long at all. Next they have you stand on a scanning machine followed by measuring your stride on a short strip on the floor that does just that. The salesman who helped me was very knowledgeable and I learned stuff about my feet that blew my mind. He brought out three different pairs of shoes and I got to try them on and walk around with them. I ended up getting a pair of Brooks. I was very pleased with my purchase and will look into running programs in the near future that they offer on their website. Highly recommend this establishment!
