A good selection of local and state college and university gear was for sell. They offer embroidery services that they sew in-house! They sell ice cream, desserts, and soft drinks. You can enjoy these items at their cute soda counter. They have meat, eggs, local honey, produce, and a lot more. It is surprising what all is contained inside this store. I left with several University of North Carolina at Charlotte items. I'm happy that I stopped in.

There was quite the variety of items and as the name implies it seems they have lots of stuff that are critter or animal themed like stuffed animals, calendars, puzzles, cards and such. I think kids would love this place as there are all sorts of little toys, novelties, gizmos and such. In the end I grabbed a few cards to have on hand and a couple bars of Pre de Provence soap. The staff there is very friendly and the store is so well stocked. The prices are very fair compared to other boutique style stores, but I'd say the Village Store has the biggest selection of home and gift items in the Lake area. They have begun putting out their fall decor, and they really have some beautiful displays during the Christmas season. I really enjoy shopping here.
