The playground is seriously well-equipped and in one of the best location in NSW I reckon. The 3 year-olds had a ball. There's so much to climb and explore for them: Tunnels, climbing frames, the surrounding parkland, the toilets, oh hang on a minute...where's he gone. This is the parks major problem. It isn't at all contained. Yes, I know we should be watching them but honestly, playgrounds are a little bit about mums catching up too. Good shaded areas for picnics but no shade over the equipment which makes it a no-no in summer. Free on-street parking for 2 hours which is a bonus and toilets. So no more hopping around for parents as they enviously watch their kids pee against trees. We'd go back again but really it caters for older pre-school kids not exploring toddlers. Lots to fall and stumble over. Lovely spot though.

They do have barbeque areas, and quite a few of them, but they also have lakes, and just plain old good parkland to wander around.

I rode a bike through here on the many improved trails that crisscross through this public space. Through here, there were teams practicing rugby, enough bicyclists to start a biker gang, joggers, runners, and people who were out to just take in the sunshine. As you cross through this park, you find lots of green open spaces large enough to play a full game of rugby, without running into a park bench or a tree. There's restrooms available. My favorite thing about this park is the huge stone gates at each entrance that remind you that you're entering an important public space. There's monuments throughout the park, and plenty of parking! I felt safe riding through here, just due to the sheer number of people who were out having a stroll in the park!

Have your wedding ceremony here, family and romantic picnics, or sit under a palm tree and enjoy lunch away from your desk. The space is used for large cultural and commemorative functions, such as Anzac Day celebrations and Carols by Candlelight. For the history buffs, this park also played a bit role in the Botany Remembers celebrations in August 1995, commemorating 50 years since the end of the war in the Pacific.

If you're in Coogee, walk up to the Dunningham Reserve to catch stunning vistas of the beach and…read morethe ocean. As you ascend the hill to the cliffs, the view becomes increasingly dramatic. There, you'll find memorial for the 2002 Bali terrorist attack in which twenty Coogee residents perished. It's a remarkable four-metre bronze piece of art. This specific area was renamed Dolphin Point in memory of the six members of the Coogee Dolphins Football Club who died in the bombing. Additionally, a few steps away is the entry portico from the Giles Baths, a relic from the 1928 bath which was destroyed in 2000. Once you walk a bit further through Dunningham, you're on towering cliffs that offer unadulterated views of the Pacific. I truly think this is one of the most beautiful places in Sydney. Go down a bit more to see stunning houses hugging the cliffs of the turquoise cove. Also be sure to take the Cliffbrook Parade along the cliff and up to Burrows Park and beyond.

A big long pathway for exercise buffs to jog along up hills or just flat along the beach. Lots of places to picnic at, just be patient with parking or come early to get a spot. Forget to mention the Ladies & Children only pools!! & Wiley's Baths I think it is, but you have to pay $2.50-$5 per person to get in.

Okay, from looking at Google Maps I thought it was just a standard inner-city park, however what I discovered was that it was a huge chunk of natural bushland. It reminded me of my time in the scouts when I would disappear with them out into the bush for a weekend and live in tents and hike. However this place is in the middle of the city. I have to say that I love it when I find natural bushland in the middle of the city because it can literally transport you away from the hustle and bustle and into the wilderness. Okay, I didn't spend a huge amount of time here, but I did take my time as I walked across the gully (and purposely took the long way as well).

We used BubbSoc for my oldest son's 12th birthday party and we were blown away. By everything. The insane fun, the endless professionalism, the clean bubbles, the clever games, Nathan! My child and all of his friends (and the passer-bys in the park who couldn't look away) were so impressed by it all. Now I can't say I wasn't concerned about everyone's safety because I was. Before it started. Once Nathan showed the kids how to be safe in the bubble and enforced these rules, I was worried no more. Not even one knee was scratched. As a mother of two boys, I have hosted twenty birthday parties. Laser tag, bowling, more laser tag, superheroes, gymnastics, even more laser tag. This activity and this company beat them all. Oh my, how I loved this park as a kid. I laugh so hard when I see it now compared to the uber-stimulation kids get these days, and I LOVE that it still exists and is probably still 20c a ride. This lovely family-friendly park always has a few dogs running around, a few games of Frisbee going on and a few people kicking a football around, is well-maintained, expansive, and with ample barbeques and plenty of shade. There are plenty of cubicles in the bathrooms, plenty of room to shower and change in the change room and, rarely for the Eastern Suburbs, some privacy is even offered for the more modest amongst us. (Not me, I grew up here.) If the BBQ's are all in use (common in Summer), supplies can be found at the Bronte Kiosk and fish'n'chips and the like can be had from any of the shops across the road. DO NOT expect to find a newspaper down here though, the caffs all have them to read on the premises but if you plan on reading the trashy Sunday papers in the park or on the beach it's BYO.

This grasslands sits right near the beach and offers a place to play with the kids, throw ball with the dog or to chill with your friends and have a BBQ. It gets busy in summer but not as bad or as touristy as Bondi, so locals tend to head here instead. It's a great place for a picnic and if you can't be bothered cooking there are heaps of great cafes near where you can grab something, sit on the grass and enjoy the stunning view.
