If you're in Coogee, walk up to the Dunningham Reserve to catch stunning vistas of the beach and the ocean. As you ascend the hill to the cliffs, the view becomes increasingly dramatic. There, you'll find memorial for the 2002 Bali terrorist attack in which twenty Coogee residents perished. It's a remarkable four-metre bronze piece of art. This specific area was renamed Dolphin Point in memory of the six members of the Coogee Dolphins Football Club who died in the bombing. Additionally, a few steps away is the entry portico from the Giles Baths, a relic from the 1928 bath which was destroyed in 2000.
Once you walk a bit further through Dunningham, you're on towering cliffs that offer unadulterated views of the Pacific. I truly think this is one of the most beautiful places in Sydney. Go down a bit more to see stunning houses hugging the cliffs of the turquoise cove. Also be sure to take the Cliffbrook Parade along the cliff and up to Burrows Park and beyond. read more
