Back when we were finishing Year 12 some kids from my year at school got some petrol and burned a giant 'A' for Aloysius into Waverton Park because it was our unofficial sports ground.
It was a pretty big deal in a not-good way at the time but in hindsight it was kind of a legendary act, I mean, the balls on those lads, right? It's an unusual park, too, with a greeny meadowy dog walky area up top, then a steep grassy drop down to the soccer oval, and right next to that is the water of the harbour.... oh, many a ball was lost after it was kicked over the fence and floated quietly out to sea, never to be seen or heard from again. There's probably a community of those lost balls living on an island somewhere, Lord of the Flies-style.
