I went to Raleigh Autocare because I needed an oil change, and to get my state inspection done. Our van recently passed 110k miles, and I was also anxious to see if it needed any additional work due to its high mileage. When I arrived and stated what I needed, they got started very promptly (within 10 minutes of arrival, the car was in the workshop with the hood up). I could observe everything they were doing through big windows from the waiting area/office- a typical space hosting a checkout desk, semi-comfy padded leather chairs, a coffee table with today's paper & some manly magazines (oriented around cars, bass fishing, etc). I will give them extra credit that this area was very clean- not always the case! Rocky, the guy working on my vehicle, came in to let me know how everything was progressing and to see if I wanted my radiator fluid flushed/refilled, as he thought it needed. I gave the ok and he stated the price up-front, $84.99. That's a pretty fair price and I haven't had it done in 110k miles so.. yeah. haha Less than an hour after my arrival, Rocky came to cash me out, having finished everything I needed. All of my paperwork was neatly laid out on the dash, including a pamphlet about maintaining auto systems (like the a/c). He was very polite, and I think he did a fabulous job on my vehicle. He even gave me the "Ladies' Day special", ($3 discount on Wednesdays) without me having to ask. All of this was reasonably priced, and the oil change even came with a complimentary car wash (automated, not hand-wash). The only reason I'm docking them one star is because while I was there, a woman came in wanting to have air added to one rear tire. The man she spoke with told her it would be $20, but that they would check all four tires' pressure and refill as necessary, etc. Maybe that seems like a fair price but for less than $20 you could buy a tire gauge and do it yourself at a gas station, and I feel that they could have at least told her that, rather than "here's the price, take it or leave it, no free advice" kind of vibe that it gave me. Shoot, for all I know he was kidding, but I'll never know for sure because she ended up leaving. Overall though I was pleased with my service and I will be back here next time my car needs maintenance! read more

Rude customer service and poor communication. I requested roadside assistance and I'm used to getting a call with an update once the tow is on the way. I Never received any notifications for over 40 minutes. So I finally called and the guy just to ask if there's any details and he was rude and hung up on me. read more

Best Auto Service in Raleigh. Friendly, easy to schedule, great personal touch. Even though I could get free oil changes from dealership, I prefer to have Raleigh Auto Care do my oil changes. They are trustworthy, able to service in a timely manner and they do quality work. I discovered them several years ago and have never regretted doing business with them. Quality work at reasonable price is what I like. read more

Raleigh Autocare has taken care of me numerous times with my vehicles. Good, honest people working there.

This company is a rip off. I brought my carin to have them repair an evap system code error. (Code P0455 EVAP Large Leak Detected) 1st trip - claimed they fixed it with a new hose. $148 2nd trip - claimed no leaks found and blamed the gas cap. $99 Puchaed gas cap $30 (Jeep mfg just to be sure). Code continued to keep the check engine light on until it burt out the check engine light on dash. So needed reapir to pass inspection. Went to another mechanic, who confirmed that the hose did have a leak and it was never replaced. He replaced rhe hose and repaired the check engine light for $144.79 Raleigh Auto Care doesn't care about you or your vehicle. I am not sure if Steve, thr owner knows this is how they do business today, but it is very bad service. I would not recommend them. Or purchase a car from them. If I could have selected zero stars I would have. Terrible place. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars! The tow truck driver was so rude, I canceled the tow and requested another company. Bragging about how he's a "tow driver" and I don't do a lot of waiting around. All I did was ask this buffoon to do was call me when he was abt 5 mins away because I'd be at the McDonald's literally less than a 100 ft away. He started giving a condescending lecture about "you knew the tow truck was on the way right? I'm a tow driver, I don't do a lot of waiting around. (I wasn't asking him to wait just call or text when he was 5 mins away) I cut him short and cancelled. read more

Very irresponsible. I called roadside assistance and my auto insurance linked this place. After I provided all info, they replied "okay" and then never showed up. I kept asking them every hour after that "okay" message, no replies or updates until I gave up, like 3 hours later. Try this place if you wanna see demon in this world read more

If you're looking for quality auto repairs, look no more. This friendly shop is the real deal. I've taken several of my cars to Raleigh Autocare for the simple stuff (oil changes, alignments, etc), and the more complex auto repair (they rebuilt my '71 Camaro engine). I feel I can trust this shop with any and all work performed, and it's always at a reasonable cost. From the time you walk in the door, you'll find the staff speaks to you like they know you, and you're treated as a respectful customer. I'd recommend their shop and team to anyone who is looking for quality workmanship at reasonable prices. read more

I like 'em. The owner is a real "car guy" and will chat about all manner of two and four wheeled oddities. His wrenches are good guys, and he's got a few really crack mechanics that are world-class, in my opinion. I brought the Mercedes there a few times - once for fairly routine stuff and another time for a rear differential seal. They did good work both times and charged reasonably for it. I have no problem recommending them. read more

I had my car towed here in December. I drive a 2004 4Runner. It didn't turn on, and they told me they couldn't run any tests until I got a new battery and that it wasn't the alternator that was killing the battery. I had my battery replaced by AAA in July of 2019 so I knew that wasn't the issue. I was in Minnesota getting procedures and surgery done, so I obviously couldn't get my car. They charged me $120 to run a bullshit diagnostic test and all they determined was my battery was "dead". They bullied me and told me they would charge me a storage fee because I wasn't going to pay them $180 for a new battery when I knew my AAA battery was still under warranty. So, I get home and call AAA to get a new battery, and he tells me it's the alternator that's killing my battery and that he was shocked the shop didn't know this as it is mechanics 101. So I paid $115 for the fee and to tow it away and take it to a AAA shop. Long story short, my alternator is dead and it drained my battery.. I need a new alternator, not a new battery. They lost my business and I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to go there. Be careful where you go! read more

I went in on a Friday needing an inspection, they were really busy; so I made an appointment for Monday morning. Monday rolls around and I'm in and out in less than 30 minutes, these guys are great! read more

I've been getting my cars serviced at Raleigh AutoCare for almost 20 years. My first experience with them was related to the fact that at that time they did warranty work for CarMax and I was always pleased with the results. But the kicker that really earned my continued business was when I had originally taken my car to Midas on Glenwood Ave. for a brake job. I go an estimate from Midas of approximately $700 which included new drums and pads on all four wheels. Seeing how they had recently done this with our other car, I was immediately skeptical (love places that lure you in with a low price and then hit you with a dozen additional costs - NOT). Anyway, as Raleigh AutoCare was right around the corner, I took my care there. They examined the brakes on the entire car and told me that all I really needed was an adjustment but that my pads were showing wear and I would probably need to get them changed in 6 months or so. The total charge was $27. They saved me over $600.00. I had a similar experience years later after taking my car to Just Tires (on Leesville Road) as I had a flat and they were right around the corner from my home. Same scenario as before. I got an exaggerated price on work that didn't need to be performed and Raleigh AutoCare save me hundreds of dollars. Throughout the years, I have always been impressed with their friendliness and their professionalism. There is not another place in the area that I will trust with my cars as much as I do Raleigh AutoCare. read more

I just needed to know if i needed a new battery or if i needed it charged- I went here because they carry the type of battery I have in my car- But I left pretty quickly because, They were going to charge me $63.00 just to do a check on it, NO WORK, just to check if my battery and alternator were good- So knowing that other places would do this for FREE, I said, "No thank you I will take my car some where else." The manager came out and tried to tell me that it is standard to charge this much and he said, "Well if you take your car somewhere else, you will be taking your car to a car doctor, but we are a car Hospital"- so I said "I'm sorry but I'm going some where else." So I took my car to another place less than a mile away and not affiliated with this place, the other place checked my Battery and Alternator for FREE,and there was nothing wrong with them, and they cleaned my battery-and I got to watch them while they checked my car because they have the nice big open windows and you can see what is going on- So please don't get bamboozled by the "Car Hospital", go anywhere else- read more
